Superior at what? The camaro has dominated the mustang since 67 when the camaro first came out. It beat it at pretty much everything from straight line to slalom. It wasnt untill the 03 cobra that they caught up and its pretty sad it required a blower to do so.
comparing a 302ci to a 350ci and 454ci's? show me a good modded 305 racing a modded 302 and lets see what chevy can do! its not about the car man i've seen fords run chevy trannys and almost all chevy's running ford 9" rear end so they just complete each other.
what about the 1st gen? SS's got the 396 wile Z/28's got 302's? I know the Z/28 was built for the Trans Am race, but the SS's came stock with more hp, nicer tires, and a beefier suspension that was meant for the quarter mile
From what I know about the Camaros history, the z28 was always the high performance model and the SS was the middle model. RS being nothing but an appearance package.
What I'm really interested to know though is what will be the gas mileage on both models? I think that's a good question even for performance vehicles when gas is around 4 dollars a gallon I really don't want to get a car with less than 17 mpg City and 28 HW.
You must remeber all epa numbers have been reduced by approx. 1/3 to reflect a more reaisitc number. So cars that used to listed as 35 mpg (Corvette) now rate about 28 mpg.
I will definitely be getting one of these. Probably one of the best concept turned production models I've ever seen. And for those talking about the Mustang, I currently own one and will be trading it in when this car comes out. The guy who said that everyone has a Mustang is exactly right. The Camaro doesn't look good at all in Silver. I like the Reddish Orange a lot more. The thing that impresses me the most is that the Camaro pulls off Yellow really well and I hate yellow, but on the Camaro, it looks awesome.

Its ugly for a 2 dr sports car or a muscle car. Its uglier than a mustang or a challenger.
But It will look fabulous in a 4 dr version.... it looks better than a 4 dr crown vic and a 4 dr charger. Its just too big, ugly and dumb to a 2 dr muslce car. No use being the ugliest in a class if u can be the best looking in another.
