this is a retarded question but. i was looking to buy a bike that would be good for jumping and riding in the woods+open land. and i kinda needed some help. im 13 about 101 pounds :( message me if you kno a good bike
@kalzx uh try 94mph or 151kph at the rev limiter in last gear, it is simple math to find that out, gear ratio vs tire size and what rpm the motor redlines at, I have had mine up to 90 but i dont have slicks so i wasn't there long
I bought a 03 in pretty much mint shape last saterday with a yoshipipe and kiehin fcr 39mm carb with accelerator pump and after market rear fender, and excell front rim for 1400.
In the US street legal bikes can't have plastic tanks anymore because gas evaporates out of them. Your bike is probably a 400E or has an aftermarket tank if you are in the US.
All I know is that Suzuki needed to use metal tanks on the S and SM models because of environmental regulations. I know plenty of people replace the stock tank with plastic tanks with no problem though. I'm not sure if any states check at inspection, but FL doesn't inspect at all so plastic tanks are OK here.
To all the people giving this the thumbs down, check the EPA regs yourself if you don't believe me. I'm not saying I agree with the regulations, I was just answering his question as to why Suzuki decided to use the metal tank on the SM instead of the original plastic tank from the E model.
I went to a bicycle shop & got them they are called "third eye" that is the name brand of them easy to install & never move once you get use to them they are great! you can probably get them off e-bay also
try going to the suzuki website smart guy... the drz400sm is built to be a street fighter, strong in the twisties and tourqe out the ass. I own one.. I walk 1000's on the street all the time.. TAKE IT TO THE TWISTIES BITCH!

Nice bike. What size of tires do you have on the front and rear?
skininc69 4 years ago
u think one of these for 2800 is good??? its clean too
blkout15 4 years ago
Those are probably both 17 inch wheels. $2800 is a pretty good deal for an SM if it isn't trashed.
