  • I no longer have the boat, but i think it went about 30knots as a guess. It was flat out in the video with 3 people on board. These 'bat' type hulls are indeed the best shape and once you can get them to lift off the water they fly along even with a small engine.

  • how fast does the boat go , I have a mini boat that flys

  • thats great thanks. i looked at toplac 'resue orange for mine but that is much nicer. cheers! get more vids up of it. its a rare boat

Unfortuantly it was sold shortly after this video was taken and i rolled the funds into buying a new project boat. I bought this hull for about £250 on ebay and £70 for the mercury engine; which took a lot of fixing to get running. 30 mins after this video was shot the bengine broke down and we ended up being recued by the RNLI. Someone reported us floating out at sea with engine problems. My advice would be to pack a set of oars, tools, battery & an anchor to stop you drifting.

  • nice boat what colour is it painted?

  • @MrWhathewhat

It was painted in a 'candy red' colour from international paints. I think they may have discontinued that specific colour but they do still stock similar ones. I think it was from their 'toplac' range of paint which is a single part paint. However they do also have a range of 2 part paints which when mixed together give a very strong plastic type strength to the paint. I applied using a gloss roller, which gave a good finish although spraying is preferred to get it totally flat.

  • love this, looks great fun
