When you're pledging to a fraternity and you have some sort of membership candidacy period, they will tell you to recite the Greek alphabet at any given time during said period. It's traditional to end with 'sir' after reciting the alphabet (or pledge), to acknowledge their status as someone higher or more experienced in the realm of the fraternity that you're pledging to. Hope this clears up all the sir questions.

And it's not "z" it's pronounced "zigh" like it rhymes with the word "sigh".

And you pronounced "Mu" like you're a cow! It's not "moo", it's "Mu", pronounce the whole "u". And "Upsilon" is not "up-silon", it's pronounced like "oop-silon" like there's an "oops" at the beginning. Get it right! Those Greeks will not be impressed if you ever go there.

for greek the letter u (Υ,υ) sound as "e" , so, the letter whicj ends at that letter will sound with ''e" and not with "ou"
