  • When I cook, unless none of the ingredients have salt, I pretty much never add any. I would have likely just added salt-free garlic powder after having salted the chicken. o.o

  • Did your ohana enjoy this? By the way, aloha for the recipe!

  • @idunnoproductionzz they loved it :)

  • I love your recipe videos!

  • Yummy!!!! Awww you're making me drool!

  • Oh Beth, that looks fantastic, I will try this!

    Thank you!

You have really been busy putting out videos, WOW!

  • @freitasex I told myself to do two weeks of baking/cooking straight. It's a lot on my plate, that's for sure. Pun intended ;)

  • Fried chicken is soooo good. It's amazing that something that taste so good is not all that good for you. All things in moderation right?

that was a huge amount of cornstarch, I don't think I've ever seen that much out of the box lol.

  • @Ultimatecruegirl HAHAHA I don't think I have seen that much cornstarch out of the box myself either. It was a HUGE bunch

  • Yummy looks good

  • Oh yes that sounds good!

    :-)

  • I'll have to try that; the corn starch didn't look as though it absorbed the fat as much either. But I'm with you, less salt. Nice one!

  • I love fried chicken old school style in oil i don't do it very often but once in awhile you just gotta do it....lol I remember my mom using crisco to fry chicken in that's all we knew....I've never seen or even thought of using corn starch fir chicken.... : o )

  • @Carballoca We used to use Crisco too!!

  • oh that did look like a bunch of cornstarch. but it turned out good. could you taste it?

and I dont fry do to fat count but my hubby loves it so might try.

  • @mommunson It did seem to have a little different flavor to it.. though I am not certain if that was the garlic salt (there was a LOT of it). The texture was definitely different

  • Looks delish!!! Blessings, Ang

  • I bet you didn't notice a big difference with so much cornstarch when you tasted it?

It looked very good on the plate :)

At our deli department at grocery store they have 6-10 kinds of "gourmet" salt there, I will have to look out for the Hawaiian kind.

  • @yoyomax12 It did taste a little different, but didn't each much of the skin. It was very good, however. Scott even got mad at me when, two days later, I was eating the last piece of cold chicken because he wanted it haha

Let me know if you can't find the Hawaiian salt.

  • Beth it looks really good! Fried chicken is kinda messy. I can't stand that oil getting everywhere. haha. Hugs!

  • This looks tasty. Did you find that there was a difference in the texture or taste due to the large amount of cornstarch compared to using mostly flour? Better? Will have to give this a go sometime soon. Mahalo!

  • @MouseChirpy It was definitely a different texture--way way way more crispy and crunchy. I didn't eat a lot more than just a bite of the skin but it did seem to have a little different flavor than flour. Not sure if it was better or not. However, other than the skin, the cornstarch mixture was also on the bottom part of the chicken and it did have a good flavor, though not sure if the garlic salt had more to do with that ;)
