this dude just totally owned all the stupid wannabees out there who went and bought the Gillespie Truth custom hoping that theyll sound just like the record. kudos man, sick cymbals and recording BTW
@scrumdidilyumpsish its all about preference. i prefer my cymbals high up but i have to be able to see over the edge of te cymbal. but i do agree that his are insanely high up xD
@okapinoise xD travis keeps hiss high hats at like eye level and hes tall even sitting down ahah and his snare at his knees which is just crazy.. i dont like my cymbals too low because it doesnt feel like i can get all the sound i want out of the cymbal
I want to see you ride on that cymbal. It is so high up! Just playing man, I used to have my cymbals real high up but then realized I couldn't ride on my ride anymore hahaha.
@cruzdrum He probably has them up high because he never needs to blast beat, or even use his ride as an actual ride. Depending on what I'm playing, I raise or lower my cymbals. Stuff like this would be raised because you can lay into your cymbals easier.
big cymbals are the way to go, i use 24" ride and 22" crash... the only thing bothering with this is the humming of your kick drum, other than that; great job!
