@Mr420woo No, because 1. Jr fans see him as the second coming of jesus, and he is the most popular driver in nascar. Its not a lack of victories, its the fan perception of a drive thats midpack at best and at the end of his career.

I went to the race where Matt lead the most laps in Joilet, IL a couple years back. The last 20 laps I believe it was they all pit.  Matt did 4 tires and Jr. did 2, Jr. got out in front, Matt ended up somewhere in 8th place I believe. By the time they went over that finish line Matt was on Jr. bumper in second. Car was strong that day and such an excellent driver. Props to him.

This makes me smile ... it's like the win didn't start to sink in until I heard ".... and Daytona 500 Champion Matt Kenseth" during the open.

See, this is going to be a good year. He started last year being taken out of the 500 by his rookie teammate for no reason whatsoever, and the season was downhill after that. This is a good win, and a deserved victory. Matt's had such a great car so many times and has either gotten wrecked (hello Stewart) or pushed someone else to the win.
