I've been keeping a written journal most of my life, but lately I've been *thinking* about doing something different... I love how you seem to create your pages without thinking too much about it, just doing whatever feels good in the instant you feel it... it's so opposite to my personality... yet that's exactly how I want to do it: throw perfectionism out the window!
Ummm how well does your Journal stand up to humid weather? I've been wondering about that a lot with watching most of you who create your journals; how far back do you have your journals and do the pages stick together after awhile? TIA
@Wyzdm I can understand your concern, but I don't think "art permanence" is what these journalers have in mind. It is more about expressing a moment's mood, creating in an instant whatever it is that goes through their minds. :-)
Great video!! I've scrapbooked for a while but I'm just starting altered or visual journals and I'm feeling apprehensive about it. I'm unsure of all the paint. Your video helped me see there's no right or wrong...just art and yourself. Thanks!!!
In this altered book I'm art journalling at the moment I have one page designated for each day, but very rarely do I work on one page start to finish. I'm too impatient! Hah. Besides, how can you tell when a page is "finished" really?
I was using Silk Crayons by Texta in this video. They mix with water and smudge very nicely. I love using them to add a little bit of colour to finish a page or making backgrounds. :D
thanks for the new vid! Merry Christmas! Hopefully I haven't asked you this before, haha.. but I was wondering where you get alot of the papers and things you use in your journal..are there certain magazines you like to use?
@rockxxon Hi Marisa! Thanks for commenting. :D A lot of the papers I use are from scrapbook stores, old books, & magazines... or just any scraps I find lying around. :P I'd be happy to get my hands on any magazines (garage sales & library throw outs are good!), but I've recently fallen in love with Frankie magazine - it has lots of pretty pictures and lovely words. I think it's great for journalling! :D
@roxyfur Hi Roxy! Thanks for your comment. :) I'm not sure actually - some people call the flower patterns mehndi-style designs & I've heard others call it zen doodling... let me know if you discover the 'proper' name! :)
What a sweet Christmas morning treat. You're very inspiring to watch. It makes me want to break free of my shell and let go in my own journal, when I start one, of course. I would love to know what your favorite mediums are. TFS!
@imjyfl Thanks for leaving such a sweet comment. :D You should definitely start a journal - I generally just work with whatever I can get my hands on. My current loves are acrylic paint backgrounds, magazine cutout borders and lots of lace & ribbon embellishments.
Great stuff girl. I love your journal. It's awesome watching you work. Thanks for sharring and your inspiration. Gotta run work in my journal now. Keep em coming.
I think this is the best art journal video I have ever seen! You are amazing! I am very inspired now to create freely! Awesome music too!

Is this language Cherokee? It sure sounds like it to me. What is the song, and who is the singer?

I love your journal, it seems so spontaneous.. I was wondering, all that white that you use, is it white paint or gesso?

I love your pages. I like how you work on lots of pages randomly too, it must reduce the pressure to finish any one page before you move on.
What are the sticks of color that you have in the bucket? watercolor sticks of some kind? or are they pastels?
