@vavrzyn Which amplug model would you say is the most versatile? I'll be playing a variety of different styles, from classic rock to metal, along with some cleaner stuff too.
Hey dude that is an amazing sound you're getting out of this thing! One quick question...would you recommend this amplug for a tone-crazy Van Halen/Guns N' Roses sound good for soloing on, or would another amplug be better suited for me?
@TheTorque5Channel Thanks man. My personal top 2 amplugs for now are AC30 and LEAD. AC30 is warmer and rather for guys who love to hit hard and don't bother to have lots of gain. Lead is more like 80's sound. Good gain, good attack, les mid range than AC30 but more modern style. Classic rock is a bit too muddy for me.
@vavrzyn Thanks dude!! Yeah I listened to a bunch of other videos of the lead (including yours), and I love it, and I'm definitely getting one soon :D!!! Yeah one of the best perks I think for the lead is the delay option on it...that's something the others don't have.
DOes any of it have a clean channel? The bass one have it. Im buying one but....which? AC30, Satch's, classic rock....(i don't like the delay of the lead one)
@112358miau Honestly none of amplug series has any channels to select. It is only overdrive wich can be set to minimum using gain pot in vox and volume knob in guitar. I haven't seen any amplug with strictly clean sound.
@MindofGary probably the metal one because, even though they have alot of songs without distortion, you are going to wish you had the amplug that has the better distortion/overdrive
I have the Classic Rock (Marshall tone) and AC30 (Vox tone) models and use them with Ipod earbuds and it works just fine. The controls are very sensitive so it can go from very good to very bad in a matter of a micro-turn, so you have to tweak it just right to get your sound. Clean or overdriven, single coils or humbuckers, they sound great. Also can plug into your PC for recording or just to play through the speakers.
I think a lot of what you get out of the headphone amp experience depends on what you use for headphones. I mean, with a real amp. you could take your head and plug it in to a 2x12 with G12 T-75s and love it, but then running the same head through a pair of 8" crate speakers it will sound like dog-crap. Sure, it drains batteries faster with big headphones, but to get a good sound out of a headphone amp, you really need 50mm drivers with a good wide frequency response range.
but could you use an aux cord to plug it into the aux input jack and on the other side of the cord that plugs in a speaker? And can you also plug the amplug into an amp and hear it without the head phones
I thought this sounded good on the youtube clips so I bought one. However, I didn't like it - sounds too thin and muddy. It doesn't clean up using the guitar volume control and the clipping is very solid state sounding.
On the other hand - this thing is $40, so maybe I am asking for too much.
You're right...classic rock is a Laney Iommi model kind of style sounding. It is muddy but some guys like this. Personaly i prefer boosted AC30. You can get nice wild overdribe from it but alone it's rather crunchy
@doughsnakes It depends of kind of guitar - especially kind of pickups. This video works with PRS Tremonti. Remember that it's rather overdrive amp channel simulation. It would be good idea Vox maikng fully clean model.
@vavrzyn would a Gibson Les Paul Studio work good on this i might get this, if it aint any count then i'll probably either get the regular AC30 or just go for a Marshall, still i have a dilemma on which one to get,
@accadacca100 it depends mostly on an individual taste. For me it fits well but You have to try it by yourself with SG. Amplug keeps it's characteristic tone, no matter what guitar You use. Differences between guitars are slightly smaller than in case og real AC30 amp. It should sound similar to what You hear in this demo.
@doughsnakes It is in fact a solid state headphone amp, so that's not surprising. Most OD pedals are just a few stages of solid state gain driving each other in to clipping. As far as sounding thin, at the cost of draining batteries a little quicker, you can try using full-size headphones. It will sound drastically different depending on the headphones. Either way, a headphone amp is a headphone amp, it will never accurately emulate a 100 watt all-tube stack.
@doughsnakes I haven't tried it yet, but I am thinking of buying it as well. Bare in mind that this in the youtube clips it's not plugged into headphones, but the AUX. Could it be that your headphones are not great? Have you tried with some better ones, maybe studio ones (or anything similar). This may help me decide, thank you!
No I've tried it in a Cort guitar that looked like a Jackson Randy Rhoads and the plug was simply too deep. But even the weird stratocaster system works.
Yes, but It won't be a completly clean. You have to control the gain pot in Vox and Volume pot on Your guitar. The settings will change depending of how hard / loud would You play. Or the tone will get a bit distorted what I do like ;)
yep. you plug it into the guitar, and then connect it to either headphones or other speakers. What I love about it is that you can plug in an outside source like an mp3 player
Can you totally remove the gain from this? I mean, generate a clean, plain signal? Badly need a review on this, so anyone help me.

Lepiej kupić Lead czy Classic Rock ? na moje ucho dużo lepiej prezentuje się lead.
