I did polyphasic for a few weeks. Lowers brain functions noticeably after a few weeks. Its easy if you don;t have a lot to do with your life but for those who need to keep their comprehension at max its a bad idea. @BlakcNinja Yep, if you dont pass through what we call "Adaptation" which lasts about 30 days, you will not get your brain functioning back correctly. You quit at what is literally the hardest part of the adaptation, I remember one day blinking and I had driven to work. After 30 ish days your body is so used to it, everything goes back to normal. Actually at day 11 it progressively gets easier, but you never feel normal until 28-30

Am I doing the polyphasic sleeping wrong or is the transition phase suppose to consist of a lot of kind of pressure feeling in the head. I actually overslept last night cause I couldn't stand the feeling anymore :(
By the way, I wanted to mention this since I started watching your blogs.......you look a lot like Audrina Patridge from The Hills but without a tan.
@2ndserenade I have no idea what the pressure feeling is, but if you wait for this to go away with "adaptation", please read the literature. The adaptation never happens! Your brain will not obey your command to sleep in designer hours. All that effort is a wasted time that can also bear on your health.
The truth is that it was working. Those migraines I had were because I had some events that I had to attend so that I missed my naps and only had my 4 hours of core sleep.
When I do get my naps in I feel fine. I watched a study on brainwave activities of a polyphasic sleeper. His brain went through all the stages of sleep but faster. So your body can adapt to this.
4 hours of core sleep is not polyphasic! I also sleep 4 h per day (most of the time). Extra naps are ok, as long as you get those 4 h in the night (or other time). So we got an agreement, you labelled your sleep "polyphasic" while the actual Uberman definition speaks of shorter naps. That "core sleep" is a big spoiler in making the definition precise. People aim at 6x20 or 4x30, etc. and will never get it. But 4h plus a nap (or two) is just normal healthy sleep! OK!!
I think you are confused about what polyphasic means. Sleeping one large chunk at night(6-8 hours) with no naps in between is called MONOPHASIC Sleep. Sleeping a few hours at night with naps(20 min) spread through the day or just sleeping several times a day is called POLYPHASIC Sleep. The four hour core sleep and 2 20 min nap schedule is called the Everyman Polyphasic sleep schedule. There are several different polyphasic sleep schedules that people can follow.
Plus, I don't know why you don't believe that the Uberman schedule is possible when so many people have done it. I'm not claiming that it's healthy in the long run but you can definitely condition your body to follow that schedule as long as you have enough will power.
Additionally, I think it's kind of funny how you would think aeia is faking her blog videos. Her polyphasic blogs started last summer and has kept on until now. She doesn't really gain anything from this
If you want to call sleep with "4 h core" polyphasic then I also sleep polyphasically.
I did not see all aeia videos, point me to the "proof". Perhaps there is another catch (like your 4h core misunderstanding).
Perhaps all we need is to agree on common definitions. Any nap above 40 min. is beyond Uberman, and Ubreman is not possible. Your sleep is perfectly ok.
The definition of Polyphasic sleep just means sleeping more than ONCE in a day. If you sleep ONCE a day, even if it's only 4 hours, it's not polyphasic. Sleeping once a day is called Monophasic sleep.
The dictionary definition of polyphasic is just 'more than one phase'
It's just that for some reason you are only focusing on the Uberman schedule when several polyphasic schedules exist. It just means sleeping more than ONCE a day.
2ndserenade said "Polyphasic sleep just means sleeping more than ONCE in a day"
My great granny sleeps 8 hours per night and some extra after the dinner (every day!). By your definition, she is a polyphasic sleeper! And she is the healthiest person I know (over 90). I shall urge her to start a vlog for all those polyphasic worshipers :)
My friend started polyphasic last week. He looks like c... now. I bet he will survive 10-20 days max.
Hey, Aya. I've been watching your logs from the first one this week, becouse I'm on the adaptation period (failing yet, but never giving up) and it had inspired me so much. So I only have to thank you!
I'm also doing logs on my polyphasic sleeping, so if you wanna check out, I talk about you on my day 2 log.
About this log of yours in particular... wow, I can imagine how anoying It is to have people stalking and asking you lots of crap.. as I can see even here on the comments.
Hey, ok I was kind of interested in the first couple of minutes but then you seemed to start obsessing over yourself somewhat or being paranoid of people stalking you, this may be due to the alter of your state of mind during this sleeping pattern. Sorry that I also too am being bold or blunt, maybe im being out of line about that. I was more interested to hear what phycological effects this polyphasic sleep has Is it productive, is it similar to a high , does it being ideas, whats the bennefit?
This is only an update.... you should check my older videos to find out more. It does not alter your state of mind except during the initial adaptation.
Those 11 hours was what your brain needed! Without that sleep you just damage your IQ (a bit). Never experiment with polyphasic. It is bad for your health and for your smarts. Sooner or later, Aeia will give up as well. She is too smart to inflict damage. Why waste beauty and good brains?
Turtle, I am not expirimenting anymore, it has been 7 months, there is absolutely no strain on my body to remain this way, it is completely natural for me now. Its a lifetime commitment for me.
@aeia forgive me, this cannot be "natural" if natural sleep was natural to you too. your systems seem to be working ok. this means that you cannot tell your brain what to do as much as you cannot tell your heart to stop. Sleep is not voluntary like eating, and it is not trainable like muscle. all you can do is shove it around. you cannot chop it to pieces. either you suffer or your sleep is not polyphasic.
dreadrath: i don't actually think sleeping 4 hours a night (in one blow) is any good.. sleeping polyphasic is different that's why u could theoretically get less sleep but still be fine. e.g. sleeping 2 hours a night (in one blow) would probably never work out while uberman might
I have theories on this, there i everyman for people who require more sleep, I think that ANYONE who does not get past the first three days is doing one of the following: 1. Not eating enough. 2. Doing any form of drug including drinking any form of alchohol 3. Does not have the will or need to go polyphasic.
All it takes is a strong will and the knowledge that it CAN be done, and a very very clean lifestyle, I even had to give up caffeine for the most part.
@aeia 1. eating is irrelevant, 2. drugs can spoil sleep, but they won't chop it, 3. will power can only help you survive through suffering, it won't make p.sleep healthy. It CANNOT be done, and you promote a very unhealthy idea!
So let me get this straight, she makes a ton of videos outlining her day to day polyphasing each lasting about 10 minutes long. In order to get her "lies" straight she'd have to do extensive research on a topic that "doesn't work", prepare all of her lies beforehand to make sure her stories match up, and come up with day by day accounts for all of it. And she is doing all of this for the 900 youtube page views. She is either nuts or you are a moron. I vote the latter.
many people put their minds to living forever and no one succeeded.
Your awakening at 5am from a 20min nap with no makeup and a fast rendition of the anthem would have a power of persuasion (I can also wake up, but I look like c. and my brain is mush)
All your family does it? Can you list them if not too far into the privacy invasion? Many blogs speak of polyphasic failure that it seems only single superhumans succeed. This makes me skeptical. This must be a superfamily!
mr turtle purtle or whatever...people are really interesting, if don't want to believe then don't believe. you don't have right to accuse people of lying. she doesn't have any reason to lie.
My brain is never like mush, that is why you go through an entire month of killer sleep deprivation before your body understands what you are doing and manages to cram your sleep together and phase through a series of naps vs one nap. You should try to the google polyphasic boards, there are a few adaptees there. The problem is the same as people who diet. It is painful, it is hard, its a challenge, and most people have no willpower
Congratulations on your losing 20kg! I would bet you never carried more than 2kg extra. You must have iron self-discipline. Perhaps this is also a danger! You can go through immense pain and take it with a smile. In evolution, early humans often "dieted" naturally, when they got no food. They might also wake up in danger. But they got their sleep back at the first opportunity. They would not force an unnatural dprived schedule on their brains. This is proven UNHEALTHY!
I would never force an unhealthy sleeping pattern either. If I hadn't finally felt better on that fateful 27th day, I would have given up. I would have said "This is impossible" but you dont seem to understand, I dont FORCE anything, my body does this naturally. I allow it to sleep the way it needs to, and it says it needs only 22 minutes. It gets tired on schedule, and wakes up on schedule.
@aeia What is your theory then on what happened on Day 27? Did your brain forget how to perform one of the most basic functions needed for its survival? I do believe you do not force anything. You are too coherent in your videos. I believe your sleep is not polyphasic. That's my theory.
I find it interesting that you sat and watched so many of her videos but yet are so negative towards her claims to polyphasic sleeping. It's obvious that you are only trying to convince YOURSELF that it is impossible. Because you aren't convincing her, she does it daily... so what's your point here. Trying to convince her that she doesn't do what she does? Are you insane?
When I was sick with swine flu, I let my body do as it pleased and still it would not sleep more than three hours at a time. After the flu had passed it went STRAIGHT back to this schedule. It ADAPTS just like any other habit, as EVOLUTION has us do. We are adaptable creatures, in all of life we can ive in -40 and +124. Your body does not FIGHT this once you are adapted.
I have lost over 46 pounds in my life when I found myself overweight, I have gone vegetarian for a year for no other reason but to 'protest' I have gone raw vegan. In other words, I have a willpower of steel. After 30 days, your body picks up a habit, that is 100% proven. When you force yourself into this pattern, it's just like any other habit.
I have been doing it for 7 months, my family all does it, and my friend, I am making a documentary for this very reason. Unfortunately my plans for documenting this have been postponed so I will be starting it this week, but you will be able to see by the timestamps that I am up at all hours of the day, and by my fresh face and lack of tiredness that it is indeed possible and very much something we can do.
Mrbrdo- I can't imagine smoking cigs would have an adverse effect, but certainly smoking anything else is nearly impossible on this pattern. I wanted to be able to pause my video game, go to bed, and wake up before the console had gone to sleep, hence, uberman. vs everyman.
Anyone can do ANYTHING they set their mind to. You are probably oversleeping for SOME REASON. Are you living a clean lifestyle? No drugs, alchohol or caffeine? Are you getting enough food calories? Theres got to be SOMETHING making you oversleep because humans CAN do this. Its not hard not to oversleep, oversleeps DO happen but they should be rare, maybe once every two weeks in the beginning, slightly more for people who need more sleep.
Yes I am. I dont do drugs or drink Alcohol or smoke, I dont drink coffee or tea. I drink water and milk and eat vegtables, fruit, chicken, turkey, and steak once a week. Also rice, pasta and wholemeal bread. My diet is clean. I am starting to take multi vitimins for the fruit and vegtables I am missing upon. Even though I do eat lots of it.
However I do go to the gym and I am worried that because I am resting 20 minutes every 4 hours my body is not getting enough rest for the muscle? (:
I do hard-core 2 hour at least cardio and training, and I have never had a problem with rest. The muscle seems to act just like normal. Remember to eat protein and you're good to go.
A stalkers crush is basicly obsession drivin by ones perception of themself what they think themselves deserving of this is govened by the necessities of life be it chemical desires , emotional stability , social standing , or just simple lonlyness though the result could be some mild amusment for them or causing unplesentness for both parties involved. chances are these stalkers just unfit geaks
the dangerous stalker is a wolf in sheeps clothing
Stalkers aside I did stumble apon this polyphasic sleepers blog thing while looking into sleep deprivation but at the time I had know idea what the heck it was about so after watching all of the vidioes I was impressed and wish I had the capabilities but between a vision empearment and dreadfull headaches I simply can't. Also I never ment to waste your time previously commenting about stalkers anyway good luck with your sleeping experiment be sure to make use of the extra time awake
I used to get very bad headaches until I started taking fiber regularly. Sleep dep also causes headaches and I would have aspirin every day for a while during adaptation. I hope you can know the joys of being polyphasic sometime! Thanks so much.
Thanks for the sugestion I may look into taking some sauce of fiber though if I ever manage to chase these headaches off perhaps I might give polyphasic sleep a shot but I was terrable at staying awake before sleep dep took up residence.
Given that you have dealt with real stalkers you'll be intelligent enough to deal with these pretenders. People are anonymously abusive on youtube since the can get away without a brused face from a fist But you can hope they sneeze and headbut their desk.
I just found them too! I've just started Uberman, and I'm glad that you're posting about all of your expierences with it. I don't feel like I'm going into this completely blind now! lol. Thanks for posting!
Hey I just found your videos a few days ago and I wanted to let you know I am doing the Uberman sleep schedule. I am just starting, but I'm expecting good things. I subbed just for you polyphasic sleep blogs, so keep em comin. This is fairly recent so I assume you are still doing this? I hope so! Happy napping!
Aeia, u got your camera - Awesome. Remember u suggested this several months ago & wondered what became of ??
As might be evident from past Qu's, am interested in polyphasic combined with a regorous exercise schedule. Could I suggest for footage say a 10min vid/montage of that 50min workout you've mentioned in past - ta.
Btw, my grlfrnd swares by wearing those big eyed sunglasses when she's trying to avoid the crazy guys. Apparently its all about not making eye contact ??
Absolutely I will include my workouts. Nowadays I bike on level 6 resistance for 2 hours, then go for a walk, then pump some weights. But I do a mixture of things and I will include it.
I read somewhere saying that it's the sleep deprivation that brings about the adaptation. If attempting everyman and I accidentally oversleep, would you say it's better to skip the next few naps so that I can still manage to deprive my body of enough sleep or should I just take the next naps anyway? Awesome deal on the camera by the way!
Dear Stalkers,
You've just wasted 3.5 minutes of Aeia's video blog. Please just do us all a favor and get a life - leave Aeia alone.
Shinunojutsu, yeah I can agree with what your saying. Am in 2nd attempt @Uberman & during some daytime naps (22min) just can't fall asleep...(grrr)
Have been sticking 2 a regular schedule hoping body will eventually learn these are its times to sleep.
Regarding deprivation, again I concur with your above. Though with 6x20min naps per day think there's plently already without skipping a nap here/there.
i got thru the poly sleep only for 10 days...my familly doesnt agre with me on the sleep filosophy!but from the summer i will live alone so please do this doc for us!i cant wait to start again! let me say it was the greatest 10 days in a long time!i will keep you close! till them give a look to my chanel maybe you will like some songs from there!:) see ya!
Hey Aeia, thanks for making these videos! It helped me a lot in my 'research phase' when I was trying to determine whether I should try the polyphasic lifestyle or not. One question I'm sure you get all the time: how long did it take you to start going into REM consistently?
Cool, well I've been on the everyman (somewhat) for 1 month now. I sleep about 3-4 hours a night and when i have time i take a 30 min nap during the day.
This Lorenzo Obi guy who is a multiple failed polyphasic sleeper who has like every single profile of each of ours on his lists.. He's got me and Aya's ljs, our facebooks, blech! (I'm Aya's identical twin BTW)
No, he was going so far as to say all of our sisters were sooo hot and we "needed" to have pictures with them, he started adding them to his facebook, even though they aren't polyphasic and stuff. He literally commented on absolutely everything even if it was like "Nice ~Obi~ " and blah blah blah.
Hey Keighsie, do you communicate via your youtube page if we wanted to msg you about your everyman/uberman experience or should we just bug Aeia to ask you about it?
thanks for ur comments, i will continue reading the google group discussions(which btw is the best source right now, for anyone interested in learning more) and since u were working while adapting i will try again sooner when i have less work
Congrats on seven months! I'm almost 8 months now. :D
On your hypothesis about sleeping at certain stages (ie 3 naps of rem, 1 nap of deep sleep etc) I highly doubt that is true. (But I only have a basic understanding of the sleep stages so I could be wrong :P)
The documentary sounds exciting, good luck and Ill be looking forward to watching!
Also, now Im going to be self conscience when I nap in public LOL. I've never filmed myself napping b4 :<
I actually axed my fb account bc I think it's a waste of time. Maybe I'd feel differently if I were successfully adapted. Anyway, I won't stalk you. That'd be creepy.
if i didnt have responsabilities for a month and i could just do light stuff it would be alot easier and the only way i try again, im trying to free up a month.
just started a couple days ago to at least adapt to the lifestyle to make it easier when i try again, being aware of the nap times and at least lay down during those times, it has been helping to mantain focus during the day since i hardly take a break where i just lay down, usually im doing something else.
I was able to work while adapting, and I had a very high management position. You might still try it, you have peak hours, usually work hours. A few days I felt like total "crap" and I said so to my boss but I assume he just thought I'd spent too long out with friends.
just realized my schedule is really similar(2:40/6:40/11:40 am/pm), at the time it seemed like the best to fit my lifestyle and people around
anyway, everytime i receive a googleGroups post or one of ur videos on the email i want to try to adapt again, but even though i can schedule my work(i work at home) its just too much pressure/stress to focus and work properly w/o guarantees of success, i think thats the main reason i failed in the past;
Just like I said above, I was honestly able to work just fine, during peak hours, which were mostly work hours, during adaptation. I had a high level management position at the company I was with and never skipped a beat. My boss did not notice my adaptation at all, even though the toughest days, which were one or two, I told him I was tired and not feeling well. I found that taking asprin helped alleviate some of it.
Thanks!!! You guys inspire me to keep documenting my experiences. I can't wait to do this documentary, I don't enjoy video editing but I will try and make it cool to watch. With some epic music in the background.
I did polyphasic for a few weeks. Lowers brain functions noticeably after a few weeks. iv tried this, and many other schedules.
after much deliberation i believe that-
1. polyphasic isnt natural, or achievable
2. i think that you dont truly sleep polyphasically
3. it is just one long 'adaptation period' that never ends
yannis5 2 years ago
After 10 seconds of contemplation I believe that-
1. You have no discipline.
2. You blame the world instead of figuring out what YOU are doing wrong.
3. You have not done enough research on method or form. Thus were fighting a losing battle from the start.
4. You aren't meant to polyphasic sleep.

1. best choice: start sleeping naturally
2. second best: continue the experiement to see this will never work!
3. worst: take a break and start again: you can keep cycling and hoping for ever! You will hear of mythical "adaptation" and chase a carrot that will never come closer.

So we got an agreement, you labelled your sleep "polyphasic" while the actual Uberman definition speaks of shorter naps. That "core sleep" is a big spoiler in making the definition precise. MrTurtle1985 2 years ago
2ndserenade 2 years ago
Plus, I don't know why you don't believe that the Uberman schedule is possible when so many people have done it. I'm not claiming that it's healthy in the long run but you can definitely condition your body to follow that schedule as long as you have enough will power.
Additionally, I think it's kind of funny how you would think aeia is faking her blog videos. Her polyphasic blogs started last summer and has kept on until now. She doesn't really gain anything from this
2ndserenade 2 years ago
@2ndserenade

Did you even read what I posted?
The definition of Polyphasic sleep just means sleeping more than ONCE in a day. If you sleep ONCE a day, even if it's only 4 hours, it's not polyphasic. Sleeping once a day is called Monophasic sleep.
The dictionary definition of polyphasic is just 'more than one phase'
It's just that for some reason you are only focusing on the Uberman schedule when several polyphasic schedules exist. It just means sleeping more than ONCE a day.

@2ndserenade, "polyphasic" is just an over-bloated word for taking cat-naps. lol

And all of aeia's other videos can be found through her youtube profile just like everyone else's youtube videos.
She's been blogging about her polyphasic sleep since June 2009. She has 47 videos and most of them are about polyphasic sleep

I was more interested to hear what phycological effects this polyphasic sleep has Is it productive, is it similar to a high , does it being ideas, whats the bennefit?
splitmindbarrier 2 years ago
This is only an update.... you should check my older videos to find out more. It does not alter your state of mind except during the initial adaptation.

Those 11 hours was what your brain needed! Without that sleep you just damage your IQ (a bit). Never experiment with polyphasic. It is bad for your health and for your smarts. Sooner or later, Aeia will give up as well. She is too smart to inflict damage. Why waste beauty and good brains?
MrTurtle1985 2 years ago
mr turtle purtle whatever....your comment smells jealousy.
selyilm 2 years ago
Turtle, I am not expirimenting anymore, it has been 7 months, there is absolutely no strain on my body to remain this way, it is completely natural for me now. Its a lifetime commitment for me.
aeia 2 years ago
@aeia forgive me, this cannot be "natural" if natural sleep was natural to you too. your systems seem to be working ok. this means that you cannot tell your brain what to do as much as you cannot tell your heart to stop. Sleep is not voluntary like eating, and it is not trainable like muscle. all you can do is shove it around. you cannot chop it to pieces. either you suffer or your sleep is not polyphasic.
MrTurtle1985 2 years ago
dreadrath: i don't actually think sleeping 4 hours a night (in one blow) is any good.. sleeping polyphasic is different that's why u could theoretically get less sleep but still be fine. e.g. sleeping 2 hours a night (in one blow) would probably never work out while uberman might
mrbrdo 2 years ago
I have theories on this, there i everyman for people who require more sleep, I think that ANYONE who does not get past the first three days is doing one of the following: 1. Not eating enough. 2. Doing any form of drug including drinking any form of alchohol 3. Does not have the will or need to go polyphasic.
All it takes is a strong will and the knowledge that it CAN be done, and a very very clean lifestyle, I even had to give up caffeine for the most part.
aeia 2 years ago
@aeia 1. eating is irrelevant, 2. drugs can spoil sleep, but they won't chop it, 3. will power can only help you survive through suffering, it won't make p.sleep healthy. It CANNOT be done, and you promote a very unhealthy idea!
MrTurtle1985 2 years ago
So let me get this straight, she makes a ton of videos outlining her day to day polyphasing each lasting about 10 minutes long. In order to get her "lies" straight she'd have to do extensive research on a topic that "doesn't work", prepare all of her lies beforehand to make sure her stories match up, and come up with day by day accounts for all of it. And she is doing all of this for the 900 youtube page views. She is either nuts or you are a moron. I vote the latter.

aeia 2 years ago
many people put their minds to living forever and no one succeeded.
This must be a superfamily!
thanks
MrTurtle1985 2 years ago
mr turtle purtle or whatever...people are really interesting, if don't want to believe then don't believe. you don't have right to accuse people of lying. she doesn't have any reason to lie.
selyilm 2 years ago
My brain is never like mush, that is why you go through an entire month of killer sleep deprivation before your body understands what you are doing and manages to cram your sleep together and phase through a series of naps vs one nap. You should try to the google polyphasic boards, there are a few adaptees there. The problem is the same as people who diet. It is painful, it is hard, its a challenge, and most people have no willpower
aeia 2 years ago
Dear Aeia,
Congratulations on your losing 20kg!
MrTurtle1985 2 years ago
I would never force an unhealthy sleeping pattern either. If I hadn't finally felt better on that fateful 27th day, I would have given up. I would have said "This is impossible" but you dont seem to understand, I dont FORCE anything, my body does this naturally. I allow it to sleep the way it needs to, and it says it needs only 22 minutes. It gets tired on schedule, and wakes up on schedule.
aeia 2 years ago
@aeia What is your theory then on what happened on Day 27? Did your brain forget how to perform one of the most basic functions needed for its survival? I do believe you do not force anything. You are too coherent in your videos. I believe your sleep is not polyphasic. That's my theory.
MrTurtle1985 2 years ago
I find it interesting that you sat and watched so many of her videos but yet are so negative towards her claims to polyphasic sleeping. It's obvious that you are only trying to convince YOURSELF that it is impossible. Because you aren't convincing her, she does it daily... so what's your point here. Trying to convince her that she doesn't do what she does? Are you insane?
ciyean 2 years ago
When I was sick with swine flu, I let my body do as it pleased and still it would not sleep more than three hours at a time. After the flu had passed it went STRAIGHT back to this schedule. It ADAPTS just like any other habit, as EVOLUTION has us do. We are adaptable creatures, in all of life we can ive in -40 and +124. Your body does not FIGHT this once you are adapted.
aeia 2 years ago
I have lost over 46 pounds in my life when I found myself overweight, I have gone vegetarian for a year for no other reason but to 'protest' I have gone raw vegan. In other words, I have a willpower of steel. After 30 days, your body picks up a habit, that is 100% proven. When you force yourself into this pattern, it's just like any other habit.
aeia 2 years ago
You should already know, my family are mentioned many times in my videos and descriptions.
aeia 2 years ago
Petr,
I have been doing it for 7 months, my family all does it, and my friend, I am making a documentary for this very reason. Unfortunately my plans for documenting this have been postponed so I will be starting it this week, but you will be able to see by the timestamps that I am up at all hours of the day, and by my fresh face and lack of tiredness that it is indeed possible and very much something we can do.
aeia 2 years ago
Can't wait to see the doc. I was hoping it was out already :)
I have two questions for you this time (I hope you have not answered them in your previous vlogs, I think I mostly watched them):
1. does smoking affect polyphasic sleeping at all (I know you don't smoke but maybe you know someone who does and is polyphasic)?
2. why do you prefer uberman over everyman, just because you save more time or is there another reason?
thanks in advance :-)
mrbrdo 2 years ago
Mrbrdo- I can't imagine smoking cigs would have an adverse effect, but certainly smoking anything else is nearly impossible on this pattern. I wanted to be able to pause my video game, go to bed, and wake up before the console had gone to sleep, hence, uberman. vs everyman.
aeia 2 years ago
@MrTurtle1985
no one has to provide a document to convince you...

selyilm 2 years ago
I cant do this sleeping pattern, I just keep over sleeping!
yoyuepz 2 years ago
Yoyuepz,
Anyone can do ANYTHING they set their mind to. You are probably oversleeping for SOME REASON. Are you living a clean lifestyle? No drugs, alchohol or caffeine? Are you getting enough food calories? Theres got to be SOMETHING making you oversleep because humans CAN do this. Its not hard not to oversleep, oversleeps DO happen but they should be rare, maybe once every two weeks in the beginning, slightly more for people who need more sleep.
aeia 2 years ago
yoyuepz 2 years ago
hmmm, seems like you really eat a lot :D maybe this is preventing your adaptation.
selyilm 2 years ago
I do hard-core 2 hour at least cardio and training, and I have never had a problem with rest. The muscle seems to act just like normal. Remember to eat protein and you're good to go.

From my raver twisted sense of logic

Also I never ment to waste your time previously commenting about stalkers anyway good luck with your sleeping experiment be sure to make use of the extra time awake
dreadrath 2 years ago
Dreadrath,
I used to get very bad headaches until I started taking fiber regularly. Sleep dep also causes headaches and I would have aspirin every day for a while during adaptation. I hope you can know the joys of being polyphasic sometime! Thanks so much.
aeia 2 years ago
Thanks for the sugestion I may look into taking some sauce of fiber though if I ever manage to chase these headaches off perhaps I might give polyphasic sleep a shot but I was terrable at staying awake before sleep dep took up residence.
Given that you have dealt with real stalkers you'll be intelligent enough to deal with these pretenders. People are anonymously abusive on youtube since the can get away without a brused face from a fist But you can hope they sneeze and headbut their desk.

Hi Aeia,
I read somewhere saying that it's the sleep deprivation that brings about the adaptation.

All best M8.

if i didnt have responsabilities for a month and i could just do light stuff it would be alot easier and the only way i try again, im trying to free up a month.
just started a couple days ago to at least adapt to the lifestyle to make it easier when i try again, being aware of the nap times and at least lay down during those times, it has been helping to mantain focus during the day since i hardly take a break where i just lay down, usually im doing something else.
omgtowin 2 years ago
I was able to work while adapting, and I had a very high management position. You might still try it, you have peak hours, usually work hours. A few days I felt like total "crap" and I said so to my boss but I assume he just thought I'd spent too long out with friends.
aeia 2 years ago
just realized my schedule is really similar(2:40/6:40/11:40 am/pm), at the time it seemed like the best to fit my lifestyle and people around
anyway, everytime i receive a googleGroups post or one of ur videos on the email i want to try to adapt again, but even though i can schedule my work(i work at home) its just too much pressure/stress to focus and work properly w/o guarantees of success, i think thats the main reason i failed in the past;
omgtowin 2 years ago
Just like I said above, I was honestly able to work just fine, during peak hours, which were mostly work hours, during adaptation. I had a high level management position at the company I was with and never skipped a beat. My boss did not notice my adaptation at all, even though the toughest days, which were one or two, I told him I was tired and not feeling well. I found that taking asprin helped alleviate some of it.
