The blacks have turned detroit into a dumb! There is no reason for whites to ever move back. We have made the outer areas to beautiful to move back. We don't like eachother so let's stay apart. The riots weren't started by a racial incident, & there were in fact few racial incidents during the riots, but civil rights were the main underlying issue since most of the DPD was white back then & a good # were racists & too authoritarian to all citizens. Remember 'the Big 4' or more, they bopped anybody if they felt like it. The looting was done by many young whites as well as blacks & mixed groups were filmed looting on Grand. Blvd. etc. & many whites were also arrested etc.

At the time of the riot, there were only a few hundred black cops in a city with hundreds of thousands of blacks. The "Big Four" abused all Detroiters, but they especially abused blacks. After all, in a city with a lot of good industrial jobs that paid well, why would anybody want a government job?
The racist white police force instigated these riots through their brutal and racist policies which they sbjected the Black minorities to endure and suffer.The army destroyed the city and it was blamed on the Blacks which is a blatant lie.The city has not yet recovered but in time they will and I wish them the best of luck.Detroit needs more tourism and I encourage all ppl to visit Detroit and help with its recovery.We must help bring this beautiful city back from the ashes and free of racism!
Burning down your neighborhood and destroying the businesses that support it sure does a lot of good. Detroit is a lot worse than it was even after the '67 riots.
Police continue with there nonsense even today, assuming one thing about a black person when all they try to do is live their life in peace. Most of the time, police bring trouble to blacks and that is mainly fueled by hatred and rascism.....

The riots began when the police busted in on what they thought was a blind pig(an after hours bar operating illegally) but actually was a private party for a soldier returning home after two tours in Viet-Nam.
