I am taking an old USB mouse apart, and it has a slightly different colorization: Orange Blue Green White Green has a "C" on the PCB Orange has a "O" on the PCB Blue has a "V" on the PCB White says "G" on the PCB Any ideas on what they are?
@Dragonfan5 Yes, it should work. Most of the time, the USB is just there to provide additional power to the headset. Not to mention, USB A-type male endings are standardized, so there's practically no difference between different types of male-ended cables.
I have a problem with my arcade where the usb mini port won't hold my cord in. It's the mortal kombat te stick. Do you know where I can find this port to replace it? I'm really not wanting to send it out to PDP and from the research I have done I've found nothing on this problem or how to fix it. Would it be easier to just hardwire the cord instead of replace to whole port?
So is there any way I can remove the cables soldered onto the PCB on a mad catz ps3 fight stick so i can completely remove the usb cord out of the compartment as I am wanting to move all of the "guts" from my TE to an empty SE.
Just wanted to confirm what I was told on SRK. Cable comes out of my Hori EX 2 turbo pad as Microsoft proprietary (looks like PS/2), but then is converted to USB near the console end. If I open the cord BEFORE the converter, will I still see the color scheme in the video that I can solder to a USB cable? Or do I need to solder USB cord directly onto circuit board inside the pad?
@obakasan79 Yes. I was actually using that type of cable throughout this video, mostly because I had a ton of spare ones I had removed from controllers to dual mod arcade sticks.
@nerrage It is ok if i use the second technique for a USB cable? I don't have a soldering gun and i found the second technique to be quite helpful and much more simplilistic than the first one

@punkywesee Just use the first technique in the video to cut away the damaged portion, and then solder the wires back together to connect them.

badboyz123ful 8 months ago
@badboyz123ful You can cut the end of an old USB cable and solder it back on with the one that needs repairing using the methods in the video.

@brilliantboredom I'm an expert at getting burned, not burn treatment. Big difference. Thanks for the tip, though. XD
