If anything, the one shot of his game that has gotten worse are his tweeners. A fantastic tweener shot here by Nadal. The tweeners he hits (or at least tries) fail badly or just end up at the bottom of the net.

The only reason that Federer dominated his era from 2002-2007 was because he was the only player with that caliber of play, aside from a teenager Nadal. Look what happened when Nadal, Djokovic, and Murray hit their primes. Since Nadal hit his prime, Federer hasn't beaten him at a single slam, can't even reach the semis of Wimbledon anymore, and literally the only thing he has on him now is his slam count - which is only there because he had no competition in his early years.

@pseudotorgeir Nadal hit his stride earlier age than Federer, and the way Nadal plays it would only take some common sense to figure that by the time Nadal is 30 he will probably be done. Djokovic who knows with that guy, he is just insase :P. And being able to beat youngsters doesnt mean much, there have been plenty other players around late 20's or around 30 who could still play well other than Federer.

I love seeing Federer comments in foreign accents. His fan base is not only ignorant, but also quite diverse! Look, Federer was a model champion from 2003-2007. He is the greatest player of all-time. how often has nadal done it? not that often.

till then, you can not compare this to what roger does. with all due respect to rafa. i believe he is one of the greatest of all times. but roger is few steps ahead of him. and dont think rafa will ever catch up as long roger is still in his 30s and playing like this.

With Djokovic in the mix and (although it's unlikely) Roger still being a potential threat to Nadal, added to the fact that Nadal's knees/body won't be able to take the strain he puts on them forever, it's just unlikely he'll pass 16. I think you don't really know what a good tweener is ..

A great tweener is VERY difficult to return because its trajectory is such that the height of the ball just clears the net closely and dips down right after clearing the net making it extremely difficult to return especially when the returner is standing so close to the net with not much room to manoevre his racquet angle ..

.. under normal circumstances Fed's block would have easily cleared the net considering his racquet is angled upwards, but the spin in Nadal's tweener simply made the ball dip down against Fed's racquet resulting in the netted Fed shot ..
