A FUN THING for you TO DO......I once went on a "my dads generation Beer Hunt"....I went out seeking all the beers being advertised on TV 'when I was a kid (I am 57 now). I bought ....Shaeffer, Bud, Miller, Pabst, Shlitz, Ballantine, Carlings black label, etc, etc. It was a load of fun......the one I ended up liking the best (of this 1950/60s era) was Miller High Life....Shlitz tasted good but upset my stomach, Shaeffer was ok but pretty bland....BUT everyone has different taste...give it a try!
Thanks for the info. Also, Julie is still in LA and apparently does voiceovers for commercials and has her own business training others in this field.
They brought "Mabel" back in the late '70s (not the same one) for a series of ads. The 1970s "Mabel" was hotter looking (I met her once but can't remember her name). She was at Frank Marotta's Auto Show at the Hartford Civic Center in early 1980 signing autographs. I met her after the signing event outside the building. She was nice, I wish I remembered her name.
@lawalsh86 Check out my return comment on this post: you gave me the name of the 1970s "Mabel", now I give you the real name of the original one - Jean Goodspeed. You're welcome (LOL).
@KoilTing Gone under? Black Label is still sold at liquor stores - don't know what brewery makes it, but it's still out there. It has a white label now, not the old red one.
@elc1960 yeah, alot of these beers that people think "have gone under" are still out there but hard to find and now are seen as low priced generic beers. Just like cigarettes.....lucky strike, pall mall, chesterfield, old gold, are still around.....just have to do some searching

My Mom used to make fun of this commercial - "Hey Mabel, get off the table - the dollar was for the beer"!

Oh man...I miss these innocent times. Now Mabel would have her boobs popping out and the guys would be making lewd comments.
