The unaired episode was actually the first episode i ever saw of "Sherlock" and i really thought it was great. They had to remake the first episode because BBC loved the pilot and they requested that they would need a 90 minutes episode for "Sherlock".

He's too human in the pilot, but there are some really good bits in the original one, like the bit where Sherlock says 'Everything else is transport.' In fact I like that whole scene where theyre in the restaurant better in the original than in the aired one. Something that made me laugh about the aired one though was that when John says 'Ive got the taxi number'(or somethign to that effect) and Sherlock tells him its useless, as it goes it wouldve solved the case alot quicker. Made me laugh.

I liked 'a study in pink' better, though I do believe that this one wasn't that bad either (By the way, they didn't refilm it because they didn't like the result, they refilmed it because the people from BBC told them they absolutely loved it and asked them to make 3 90-minutes-long episodes. The pilot was 60 minutes, so they decided to refilm the pilot and make it into the first episode.) I really can't wait for the sequel to come out!<3

Sherlock is sooooooooo much sexier in the unaired pilots. I can't understand why they didn't air those ones instead of the ones they actually put on t.v. But i still think that when he says "The game Mrs Hudson, is on!" is pretty corny. don't know why. i reckon he should have a girlfriend called Amelia; Amy for short and she should be sassy and humourous. ^_^ just voicing an opinion.

@antostelin Sounds like a mix of something he was beginning to say (considering he didn't finish the sentence I guess it wasn't just "whatever takes your fancy") and the expression "whatever floats your boat", ie "however you like it".

Hahah, loved the ending! Good video, glad they decided to remake the pilot though, you can see the differences and improvements they made drastically between the two.

Though on a completely shallow level Benedict looked way hotter in the unaired pilot. One word. Skintightjeans.

It looks very different with Sherlock as a more comfortable person, but I'll always prefer him a little anti-social. Sort of fits better in my opinion. Looking forward to seeing the whole pilot though (DVD's in the post SQUEE) and as ever, love your videos.

Also kudos to Benedict, comparing the two Sherlocks just goes to show how varied an actor he can be.

I can sorta see why they changed it, I've seen the end, and Sherlock behaves so differently, and seems a nicer guy too, I'm glad they got Benedict to make him more antisocial and unfeeling. It fits with the character.

Also, even if you don't like this video, I do! ^__^ yours are always worth a watch.

But of course everyone needs a break, and you deserve one after all your work!

@IsThisLife09 Well acutally the Sherlock in the novels is a bit more friendly and nice than how Benedict plays him. Dont get me wrong though, I think Benedict does an awesome job and I love him as Sherlock Holmes but they did make him more cold in this version than he normally is.

@FullmetalShortOne I think you are right. I the later stories of Holmes he writes a case himself (instead of Watson) and he seems more human. He is more polite and civilized in the then he comes across in the show. However, I love Benedict in the role, he is such a talented actor!
