  • Wonderful to hear it in stereo, but it sounds like a different take from the same recording session.

  • the first time I heard this I was in Pre-K in 2003-2005. I'm twelve now.

  • What ? the volume only goes up to 100....not enough! This computer disappoints!need very big speakers and volume power enough to shake floor and shatter windows! Must get a set of Sensurround theater speakers from the 1970's .The only way to truely appreciate this simple ,yet addictive song! Over and over and over and over........!

  • Eat does shimmy ko ko bop mean

  • this is so stupid xD

  • i gave a "like" vote on the hand puppet alone. great job. good sound. thanks for posting

  • You even inserted a glimpse of Eartha Kitt in the beginning! Classic!

  • this song used to scare me as a kid....haha!

  • I was born in 1956, and this song was a favorite "kid sing along" song for me!

  • ren and stimpy, erkel (?) carlton! great vid....

  • Fabulous! Excellent choices and I loved your intro with Kermet! Thanks!

  • My grandkids just love this song, the two yr old walks around singing, "shimmy shimmy bop"....lol Thanks Little Anthony & The Imperials for sharing their talent with the world. Thank you Mike1964 (nineteen sixty four) for sharing this video.

  • I really need to know how that cartoon at the end of the vid is called!!!

    pls

  • @BombasticBemnet Ren and Stimpy Happy Happy Joy Joy

  • @BombasticBemnet Happy Happy Joy Joy

  • This was fun to watch....Nice mix of video clips...viewers have no idea what to expect...my favorite parts is Will Smith looking at his friend dancing goofy.....like he was gonna smack him up side the head !

  • Kermit is taking too long to start the record.

  • Thx for the response sandralawson18, I agree with you too. While I love the clear crisp sound of CD's I prefer the sound of vinyl records, 45's too. But then CD' s sound much better then cassette tapes, and 8-tracks.

  • I like this song i am 18 and my grandparents showed me a lot of the oldies music and i love it

  • ah sorry not a realistic, but a zenith, was the brand, record player we had

  • That asian girl doing the shimmy shimmy was great.

  • I used to listen to this song on my parents HUGE turn table/radio. Damn thing stood on 4 legs and it opened up like the trunk of a car. Maybe 5 feet long, 3feet high, and a foot anf half wide. The damn thing pumped I tell ya.

Anyway, I'd be downstaris with my sisters and the babysitter, this was back in the early 80's when the Romantics were hip.

  • yeah i like those old record players, we had an old realistic record player, with big ass speakers, i would play that song, and locomotion by lil Eva, i couldn't close enough to the speakers i loved her voice so much, and as far as shimmy shimmy goes i always thought it was a female singer, just the way lil Anthony sounded.

  • I can't remember what brand ours was. Hell. They could have just called it Cadillac, that would've been fine.

How about Captain Hook. You know that song: She was too young to fall in love. Hell. Friday nights my parents went to the lanes. By 8:00 the Dukes of Hazard finished and Harold Magnussen, the sitter would show up. The t.v. volume would then be lowered to make way for the vinals.

We didn't have the vinal, but Harold's favorite song was Magnet and steel by Walter Egan.

  • @mrke8ting I agree with you. That turntable is alittle lot better than CD's.

Now, the CD'S are very good, but I still

like the turntable better. I still got some

albums, and I'm not giving them up, either.

  • Music of yesteryear was so much simpler. Today's music is garbage! This has a nice beat, and you could dance to it!

    Thanks for posting it!

  • Hi Mike1964, thanks for posting this! Where did you ever find it? Yvonne Decarlo was beautiful, talented and timeless. I love this!

  • can you answer for me who is dancing in the black and white clips? starting at 1:32

  • Yvonne DeCarlo

Ever seen The Munsters? That's Lily.

  • i'm just being a stupid dumm ass mike, pardon me please,,,R like i said it's a great tune,i love record players and all that old stuff

  • the first time i heard this, i was in a white castle at like 2 in the morning. and i thought it said "jimmy jimmy coco puff" me and a few friends were laughing so hard. hahaha. i love this song!

  • @dylanjns The last time I was at a White Castle at 2:00am, I was pretty drunk. I can see why you would misunderstand the words.

  • Great job !

  • deathbybunga, did u see them at the rock hall induction ceremony? i was there too i thought it was incredible!

  • Saw these guys last night. Hard to believe they have been together for 50 years. Classy, polished, and entertaining. They rocked the house with their spot on vocals and dance.

  • What a great video dude.

I laughed my ass off; and I learned something. The Munsters lady was a looker in her day.

    Great song, to boot.

  • This always reminds me of New York top 40 radio in 1960 with WMCA,WINS,WMGM and WABC all top 40 powerhouses and battling for listener. This was the last song Alan Freed played on the air in New York Radio.

  • I love this song, I sing it to my kids all the time. Who is the woman with the big dress dancing in the black and white segment?

  • She's Yvonne DeCarlo, later known as "Lilly Munster" on "The Munsters".

  • Thanks for adding this to You Tube...Great song

  • Dude, it's first time I hear this version.. isn't it a bit slower? very nice, how can I find this?

  • a used record store might have it

  • Doesn't sound slower to me. Sounds

    just right!

    A CLASSIC SONG.
