  • thanks guys, It's 0238, and I'm pounding my Indian Hand drum in time with you. This drum was brought by the Irish to this continant. You Great Big Sea give us all MUSIC ! We need that, you know !...You make me weep with life !

  • okie im not a maritimer but i love this band and i love the maritimes

sometimes i wish i were from there lol

  • Why are all their legs locked?

  • @Bouncyheart Their legs are bottoms of pawns, indicating we are all pawns in the world.

  • I love this band they remind me of Rattle n reel

  • Man a thousand thumbs up for Great Big Sea and Newfoundland! No better place in the world!

  • @justinjanes Amen to that!

  • @justinjanes Amen brotha! They're Awesome.I saw em in concert on the 22nd!!

  • Yay for us Maritimers!!!

  • Quite possibly the greatest band ever! I'm a maritimer, and we tend to lose our Catholic conscience at an early age, and replace it with a thing that tells us to be carefree and fun loving. Or maybe that's just me.

  • @NorseWarriorKing no its all of us,the martimes is the place to be, i miss it a lot, i live in edmonton now and i wanna go to the beach

  • In times of trouble, I turn to God and this video. Thanks GBS. Seen yaz twice, got the playlist and guitar pics to prove it and my tix. Pretty sure that is all you can accomplish in music to make ur fans enjoy ur music that much. Sorry that the radio dudes just can't peg u guys enough in a category. Dang shame but the people who luvs uz the most can find yaz. To the great big Sea from the small little c -who sells c -shells by the c-shore on an island unknown SILLYHEART21 ON YOUTUBE.

  • @SILLYHEART21 That's a good point, I've heard Ordinary Day once on the radio and nothing from them since that. I usually think of their music as Celtic. They're certainly more Celtic than all those spanish bands claiming to be so.

  • I love these guys, and this song especially. Also, LICD comic is awesome :D

  • love this song soooooooo much

  • Same, can't thank Ryan and Lar enough. Would have seriously missed something if I hadn't discovered Great Big Sea!

  • I first heard this in the Least I Could Do intro! Great song =D

  • same!

    Rayne for Jesus 09!

  • Join the club! I hope that if the series gets the go-ahead they keep this as the intro, such an awesome song!

  • i love this song, its next to ordinary day and when im up

  • this is such an underraded song

  • I FUCKING LOVE THIS SONG <3

    :D

  • i love alans dream he just looks at the bunny WTF?

  • why have they got bottoms like chess pieces?

  • Maybe they're mirroring their outlook on life with chess pieces because in the game of chess if you make a mistake, you're dead. Hence, they dream of a world which is "Consequence Free."

  • Hmm, that could work. I was thinking more on that each piece is expected to move a certain way, and that they want to go against that.

  • I think it's a commentary on capitalist society: it's a factory and we're all supposed to try to be the same. They're all "pawns". The song is about breaking out of those constraints of society and doing your own thing.

    That's just my take.

  • or work in the factory and just make things in the system

  • yep this song is about "not being afraid to laugh loudly and not feeling guilty about things we do because some people might think.." :)

  • This video seriously needs to be interlaced!!!

  • I LOVE GREAT BIG SEA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fuck man i saw these guys for the first time two years ago when i was 13 and i moved to ontario from newfoundland a year after

and i miss the great music from there!!:)

  • Saw these guys live in Buffalo NY, i've never had a better time at a concert, I hope they come back

  • good song

  • oh yeah they're great :)+<

  • They've got a great sound, which also impressed me since they're vocal range is the general range of notes that anyone can really sing, if they wanted to try. But they sure do stand out, so give them kudos! (Seriously, now. LoL)

  • Kudos.

  • Its called good old fashion fun music. There is alot of fun music coming out of the east coast of Canada, these guys are great!!!

  • Love this band! ;o

I think I´m the only person I know who´s ever even heard of them though, but they´re awesome =)

  • aha, same with me, i'll mention them and all my friends are like "who?"

  • Same with me...My friends only know the famous ones....

  • Comment removed

  • This guys rock !! They play the opening theme for the Least I Could Do animation; I'm so new to them... Like... 5 mins ago, but they rock big time. I'm a new fan !! Cheers !!

  • Yeah, that's how I got into them too. Their website is pretty awesome.

  • They remind me of todays version of Crash Test Dummies in a way

  • Oh, the drummer from Crash Test Dummies came to my school. (: He's pretty cool.

  • if you think of it abstractly, it's everyone bound by strict rules of etiquette

  • OMG The Great Big Sea final tour spot in Ottawa on Saturday was amazing!

  • FROM NEWFOUNLAND AND PROUD !

  • the pride of Newfoundland and its music culture is alive with the man from the East Coast, Great Big Sea and can't wait to see them again when I return to the Rock in St.John's Lets party!!!

This song is from Turn btw

  • gbs "up" and "play"

  • i, very nice...

  • I love Newfoundland bands :)

  • yeah babe.

  • Great song, I seen GBS Live and it was by far the best live show I've seen.

  • This is the first and only Song i've ever heard of theirs, and I love it so much that I know it word for word!

    It's Brill!

  • search for more of theirs, they're geniuses

  • Already have!

    I really like 'Run Runaway'

    Would you recommend any?

  • The old black rum, Ordinary Day, the night that patty murphy died and my fav Mary Mack.

  • If I Were King, Ordinary Day, Sea of No Cares, every other song they're played.

  • they are singing about /b/

  • lmao

well /b/ is consequence free, however

    most of /b/ is fail...

so it wont matter either way

  • After hearing the lyrics I can see why Least I Could Do would have this song as its Title Song. It works great. God I hope they do make it.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG

  • sean needs more camera time

  • Wow, anybody remember the old days before YouTube? When I wanted to see a Great Big Sea music video I'd have to watch CMT all day in hopes they'd be played, then record it when it came on.

  • The techonological dark ages... indeed, it was a scary part of our history. least we forget. -bows head for a moment of silence-

  • of course, every glory has its dark side, with Youtube came the Youtube Comments section...

  • this song and Hakuna Mattata have the greatest message ever.

  • Best band of all time, PERIOD.

  • eh, maybe

  • great big sea has got to be the best pub band of all time

  • gotta love the message of this fantastic song.

  • thank you least I could do for showing me this great song

  • whats with the things on they're legs?

  • I think they are supposed to be pawns...like the little things in a chess game.

  • So many GBS videos are so-so, including this one - maybe most are - compared to the songs. If I had to judge them on videos, I wouldn't bother going to see them live. They kick 100 kinds of ass, live.

  • awesome song is awesome.

  • only bad thing about this particular video-

    it's 2 fuzzy

  • this is just a really nice band that sing somthing you understand with some nice music too it, most listen to: ARRRRRRRH burn and die in searing pain. i mean wtf?

    this is just nice!

  • it seems that so many people have a lack of good music taste these days who are brainless sheep and follow everyone to listen to all that shit/lackluster mainstream music like "When I grow up" or "Kiss, kiss" and what have you....

  • your so true most of those pop and other bands sucks monkey cock your pwn:D!

  • Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's crap.

like and listen, or don't and shut-up
