@jsngardner You know the ironic thing about that is? I always mistake Nickleback and Theory Of A Deadman. And I only like old Nickleback songs, and this one Theory Of A Deadman song.
@allthatjawns I agree with you, but...damn. You're a bit of a negative nelly. And a little arrogant, don't you think?
Not that those are bad traits, I suppose. But a Youtube video put up for people with simpler tastes seems like a strange place to bother critiquing a generic rock song.
@TheMosher2011 they didnt really find them it was more like nickelback going to a bar and TOAD playing and nickelback liked them but never said anything but then one day tyler connolly threw their CD in nickelbacks limo and so chad kroeger went on a mission to track down TOAD.... and thats the story of how theory of a deadman became famous The End.
Got to see Theory of a Deadman in concert a few weeks back; they were opening for 3 Doors Down. They played this song and everyone in the arena was singing along. They've all got amazing talent and I'd love to go see a concert of theirs where they're the MAIN act.
@wiebe3333 I wrote the song (and songs for Nickelback) & named the band. I wrote songs for Oingo Boingo's Deadman Party in '83 at the age of 15. After talking to Michael Jackson about the Big Bang Theory I named the band. Low Life I mention the man who discovered me calling him Joe Dirt (Joe Elliott of Def Leppard). The song was written years before release & inspired the movie Joe Dirt with David Spade (same mullet haircut as Joe in the '80s). I am the real Amy Lee founder of Evanescence.
@thebeast184 It has been a while. I only wrote a few songs for them, came up with the band name, not a member of the band. I've retired from the business.
@Boddahism yeast thing i heard was broken by seether which you were in so guess it sort of kinda counts. ha. yea and good luck with retirement. still trying to get discovered though (not a pitch i swear haha)
@shadowkiller222 Actually, they say it was Mike who worked at Starbucks. Which they say this because Kurt Cobain worked on the songs with me (both originated in Washington). I was discovered by Joe Elliott of Def Leppard at the age of 15 in '83. Mutt Lange had produced their Pyromania album and over the years worked with him. I requested Nickelback's Dark Horse album (named for George Harrison's album) which are songs I wrote for them be produced by Lange. I also wrote for Shania Twain.
@shadowkiller222 The first song I worked on with Joe Elliott was Pour Some Sugar On Me. Using a song from Aerosmith's Toys in the Attic album I came up with "Step inside WALK THIS WAY". I also was inspired by another song Sweet Emotion from the same album for Sweet Sacrifice performed by the band I named Evanescence. Toys in the Attic meaning "insane" or "go crazy", "we're all a little insane"-Sweet Sacrifice. I also used it to come up with Let's Go Crazy for Prince's Purple Rain album.
@markrider2866 I'm not trying to say that I wrote famous songs. I wrote famous songs for many artists, including TOAD which I named. It is Joe Elliott that I refer to in the song Lowlife as "Joe Dirt" which inspired the movie with David Spade (Joe's famous mullet of the '80s and the no sleeves of the famous Union Jack shirt). The song was written before the band was formed. Part of the name Theory of a Deadman came from me writing songs for Oingo Boingos Deadman's Party album.
@markrider2866 I was 15 in 1983 when Joe Elliott of Def Leppard discovered me and we started writing Pour Some Sugar On Me beginning with a song from Aerosmith's Toys In The Attic album..."Step inside, WALK THIS WAY". It was another song from the album, Sweet Emotion, which inspired me to write Sweet Sacrifice performed by Evanescence (another band I named). Toys in the Attic meaning insane..."it's true, we're all a little insane." - Sweet Sacrifice
@markrider2866 My name is Amy Lee, the lead singer of Evanescence uses my name. I was involved with Michael Hutchence of INXS from Jun '83. It was Hutch who suggested Oingo Boingo perform the songs I wrote for Deadman's Party. The theme being the Spanish tradition of Day of the Dead. This is why INXS used "Diablo" on the cover of the song Devil Inside which I also wrote. I would speak Spanish to Hutch. Nirvana wrote the song Marigold because it is part of the Day of the Dead tradition.
@pburgh36 You are mistaking me for the lead singer of Evanescence who uses my name as her stage name. I wrote the song Broken as a teen in the early '80s about my relationship with Michael Hutchence of INXS. It was inspired by Def Leppard's Bringin' On The Heartbreak "Gypsy, sittin' lookin' pretty, The BROKEN rose with laughin' eyes". I also used Def Leppard's song "Photograph" in the lyrics of the duet. Kurt Cobain & I would sing it all the time. I then came up with the band name Seether.
This reminds me of Uprising from Muse:)

Nickelback sucks a fat cock. They are in the same group as Kid Rock. Lets sing the exact same song with different music.
