i thought the 7800gtx should perform better than dat since it's a high end destop card back to5-6 years ago, and now i realise my rather weak laptop graphics gt 525m can beat the 7800gtx easily on far cry 2, i m running max dx10 4x aa on 1366 x768 with 25-30+ fps running mulitplayer map without fraps, minimum 19-23 fps during some scene like campaign and heavy battle.

It's amazing how my 5 year old 7800 GTX could run ANY game that came out, playable too, but usually on lowest -low settings :) The best graphics card I ever bought. It... eh... fried, when I tried running crysis 2 though lol. Now I'm going to get a 6870.

@SuperDevastetor Well....think about it, its almost the same as a ps3 one, so in theory it could run anything the ps3 can on low setting at 720 @ 30fps +.

If you have the core 216 then you should be bale to get ~25fps max on a 19inch monitor. I upgraded to the i7 860 recently and will be posting a vid soon.

Try 32XQ sli aa and it looks amazing in fallout3. :)

Man, get a Gigabyte g31 for 50$ , e5200 65$ ( I 'd go better if you can ,my e5200 bottlenecks my ati 4890 ,not this bad ,but...) , , $20 aftermarket arctic freeze 7 and you will do that Video card some good , I have my e5200 at 3.96 Stable for 6+ months , 3.7 shouldn't be a Problem for anyone , (if you can Mean while overclock that CPU as much as Possible..)

Hmm something is wrong with your setup since you only get 13-15 fps in Far Cry 2 on a 7800GTX.

Personally I get 27-30+ fps at medium settings on my notebook go 7800GTX overclocked to 470/1300 and a single core Centrino 2.13 GHz and this at 1440x900 res :)

look at his CPU in the description...it drags the GTX 260 down by alot...I have a GTX 260 Core 216 aswell but my CPU is a quad Q6600 2.4 Ghz and I get 50+ frames at 1680x1050 all at ultra high

I didn't speed it up at all, that's a glitch in Fraps.

Recorded, brought into Premiere Pro, and noticed it right away. Didn't want to do another take cuz Fraps slows everything right down to 15fps anyways so I said whatever.

If i really wanted to speed it up, don't you think I would have synced the audio with the video???

i have the same gtx 260 55nm version with a dual core cpu.. if you had a quad core you would more than double your frame rates... and record with gamecam..

Ya I believe the superclocked edition has a slightly higher core speed at 626mhz; but with some overclocking you can get it to 670mhz. Very nice card so far.
