Wonderful! Downloading now :) My voice isn't as good as yours (and was damaged in a Nix game a few days earlier) but my "Ricki's Christmas" effort which earned me the right to sing it at Westpac on Fri 23 Dec! :D
@36handicap I've re-uploaded the MP3, so it should work again now. The problem is zshare links expire after a certain amount of time, and I can't put it on Soundcloud because of the Eminem sample. So I just have to rely on periodically updating the zshare link. I am not on the Yellow Fever forums, but I do lurk around the Wellington Phoenix Facebook page from time to time.
I just logged in to say that this is a super cool video :D Haters need to realise it's not that we can't get over Rojas leaving - this is just a creative, light-hearted, and very funny fan response to the situation :) Well done mate.
To put it in perspective, it's not that Marco left that has Pheonix fans so upset. It's that he left at the very first chance he had to go to a rival club DESPITE having first team opportunities at his hometown club. Not to mention that it was the yellow fever who PAID FOR HIS SCHOLARSHIP. Think of it like Dzugandzic, but a better footballer.
Add the heartless, moronic arrogance of Victory fans to this and I can sympathize. You can keep Kewell, and we'll keep the trophy in Brisbane, thanks.
@codeyantiassembly "Heartless, moronic arrogance of Victory fans" You're an asshole buddy who the fuck are you to generalize in statements. How about get your crowds up for home games. Not your piss poor 13,000 for the first game, disappointing for defending champions. At least we are producing interest in the game in Australia when it really needs it. 41,000 in our first home game proves it. Rojas wanted to move clubs because he wants to further his career, his choice not yours.
Maybe I should have said "The behaviour of Victory fans towards the yellow fever in regards to this particular subject has been by and large heartless, moronic and arrogant.".
There's plenty of evidence to prove that statement true. Hell your comment shows how much of a sense of entitlement you guys have, with you boasting and verbal wankery.
Will you stamp your feet if you win nothing again this year? Blame the FFA? Refs? After all, Victory deserve to win everything, right?
@codeyantiassembly What? When the Phoenix fans came over for their away game we had fans sitting next to them talking to them and we even clapped some of their players like Nick Ward. They got on well with us and I have a friend from New Zealand who loves coming down here because he loves our support. Since when do we deserve to win everything or blame the refs? There are a small minority who stuff things up for us but when Heart came rolling around they switched sides.
@WBFC1995 Of course they got on with you, they have got to be the friendliest bunch of people ever.
And yeah, you guys are so welcoming that you pelted our fans, players and coaching staff with shit last year when we drew 3-3 with you. And I'm not talking a minority, I'm talking the entire southern stand. And then when Ange didn't sign with you a few months later, it had nothing to do with his son being struck with a projectile, it had to do with the FFA blocking your move for him..........
@codeyantiassembly first of all i was there sitting right next to the away brisbane fans at the 3-3 match, and i dont remember any thing being thrown at you away fans, but there were things being thrown at the linesman (deserved it). and yes, the FFA did block the move, and i know that for a FACT.
@codeyantiassembly Did you see the footage of that, we needed the 3 points and the ball was clearly over the line when Theo grabbed onto it, he even looked at the ref. We were angered at the same linesman because a week before he had given a penalty and laughed it off when questioned by players. It was the first time at a Victory game that had happened. So what if people are passionate and wanted to win it's football. I just went to Adelaide away and saw 20 Adelaide fans brawling with police.
The ball may have been partially over the line but replays show that while Theo was over the line, the whole ball itself had not passed the whole of the line. But I will say, even I thought it was a dodgy call right up until FOX analysed it.
That doesn't excuse your fans behaviour anyway. The bottom line is Ange's son was struck with a projectile and Brisbane supporters had to be ushered out of the grounds. Truth. That's why he had no intentions of signing with you guys.
@codeyantiassembly That was not the reason why he never signed. The reason he didn't sign was because the FFA who were in charge at the time of Brisbane did not want him to leave Brisbane Roar because they knew he could help the club. Why let him leave when the team is doing so well. It was never because his son got hit with a 'projectile' which how does anyone know is even true. The ball passed the line check Theo's interviews after the game with newspapers he said that he was surprised as well
Said who? You? Someone in the know? Once again the tard sense of entitlement comes out. Why would Ange not want to sign with you? You are the biggest club in the world, right? Couldn't have to do with anything other than the FFA, PRICKS!"
FFS, Ange never considered going to you guys. Take his own word for it, google "Postecoglou Leaving" and educate yourself. Accept that.
@codeyantiassembly Now I understand you are one of those kids who love to overuse the word 'Tard', yeah I've given up on my argument. Had plenty of them with people like you who had no sense and had to generalize club supporters. FFA would have stopped the deal going through anyway, they took charge of the club when it went bankrupt and controlled it's finances and operations.
@di5311 bro in football there are these things called transfers that help
improve the clubs array of talent ..... so no i don't think melbourne victory are going to get there own players since they can obviously afford to get great transfers like rojas .... and typing in caps makes you look like a 9 yr old.
YOU F---ING VICTORY FANS!!! GO FIND YOUR OWN PLAYER. VICTORY ARE S---, BUT THINK THEIR THE MAN U OF THE A-LEAGUE, GET KNOCKED OUT FIRST ROUND KNOCKOUTS BY GGU. HOW MUSCAT SOMEHOW BREAKS MARCOS LEG IN TRAINING.
After his virtuoso performance in his debut game for the Victory against Celtic, MVFC fans have instantly fallen in love with him. He's so good, he should be Victorian. That being said I'm happy we signed him for 2 years, cause European clubs will be falling over themselves to sign him from us in 6-12 months and we'll be the ones pocketing the likely sizable transfer fee.
"He's so good, he should be Victorian". Is that supposed to highlight he immense footballing quality victoria are producing at the moment? To get talent, vic have to dangle money infront of young players of pull old men (archie thompson) out of a rest home. Hope vic go to hell.
@di5311 hahaha a tad bit of animosity, just remember without Melbourne Victory there would probly be no A-league right now, they're support and numbers are the backbone of Australian football, so if players want to go to the victory who can blame them?? So calm dj jealousy is no excuse lol.
@TheAmazingNoodle Dont bag him bro ur just a jelly mufa fuka why wuld he want to play for a fucking shit club like wellington? have they ever won a trophy ahhahaha melbourne for life
@SonyCamry To repay the fans who literally paid for him to join the club? To ensure he gets a lot of game time? To avoid earning a reputation as a mercenary with no integrity? So many reasons.
@jiman0 The don't expect him to stay at the Nix for his whole career........ It's simply the fact that Marco would not be where he is today if it wasn't for the yellowfever noticing him and giving him the opportunity. And they would of liked if he at least stayed for a bit longer before moving on. Not leaving as soon as he got noticed. Especially when he will prob be on the bench at melb, and how will that develop his game?
Personally I'd have liked to see Marco stay at the club for one more season, seeing as he had only played for the Phoenix for about half a season due to injury. Yet despite the Yellow Fever donating the costs of a scholarship for him to join the Phoenix, and the club sticking by him for almost two years while he developed his game and recovered from surgery, he chose to leave the club as soon as he was ready for the A-League. The song and video are a light-hearted exaggeration of my feelings.
@keepithalaal As far as the pay goes, he was offered a raise by the Wellington Phoenix which would have put him on about the same salary as he'll be earning at Melbourne Victory. The choice to leave was not about money in the end. As for needing to be at a bigger club to attract the attention of Europe, my opinion is that he would make more of an impression and get more game time by being a big player in a smaller club, but this is just opinion of course.
@TheAmazingNoodle Thanks, cause i like having album covers in iTunes, im making a cover, but yours would be better, so if possible, could you please make a album cover ?? Thanks :)
@The1Nickfootball Yep in terms of trust he's great, but the question is to what extent he knows what he's doing. I'm not sure joining Melbourne Victory is the best move for Marco's career. I hope to be proved wrong.
