Most of the straw polls that the states are holding are just for bragging rights, they don't actually guarantee you a spot at the national convention. What matters are the delegates and Ron Paul's campaign has stated that they are winning most of the delegates. I can give you the source if you desire, but he is quoted as saying that he wants to slowly abolish government programs like social security. Him giving us the ability to opt out is only the beginning but even if it wasn't, it wouldn't matter. If you give people the ability to pay less, then they will do so.

From researching books Dr. Paul recommends, and from my firsthand experience growing up with a mom on welfare, I have come to the understanding that government programs hurt more than they help. Indeed, they often accomplish the opposite of their stated goals.

FACTS only Ron Paul seems to understand:
300 million Americans.
138 million WORKING Americans.
21 million of those are GOVERNMENT employees.
60 million on Social Security.
48 million collecting some type of Welfare.
2 million in prison or jail...etc.

He can issue presidential pardons to all non-violent drug offenders and end federal enforcement of the War on Drugs.
He can veto a lot of the bullcrap anti-Bill of Rights legislation.
He can change the political dialogue, so people will start to question authority, and fight for their liberty again.

And it has been proven that during the Bush campaign that the votes have been altered.
