Pretty sure that's just slide guitar, or an ebow on Nels' guitar. Very gorgeous. Sounds like they even managed to sneak some banjo on this track.

Just do me a favor and listen to the bridge in Good Vibrations from the Beach Boys where it slows and listen to the harmonies, and it is the starting melody line for this song, basically.

Obscure catch, yes, but consider that Summerteeth had a lot of Beach Boys influence/inspiration on it too, so it may not be a stretch. That's all.

Jeff is amazing, we all love the music, and no, I can't do better. Enjoy the album. ;)

This album is such a disappointment, and this song's melody is such a rip off the Beach Boys Sunkist.

Really? Don't know that one. I'd say, aside from A.M., this is probably Wilco's most derivative album, like they're turning a corner. Lot of great songs on it, though. Still the best band around, bar none.
