If you fight him alone, all you have to do is use guts every time you get weak - it was piss-easy.

Heh, I remember fighting this guy solo when he asked if I was strong enough to take him on my own. It was more symbolic than anything to take him on like in the very beginning! I bested him but I was almost level 80 by that point too, lol XD

This fight is actually much easier if you Solo it with Ryu - more or less you use Guts every other turn

lol i remember this fight, had to heal with one or two almost every turn and pretty much just bring offense from ryu

After a solo fight he will tell you where to find a treasure chest that contains a Life Bracelet. You can find it without the hint though, if you know where to look.

it prevents death from being used on u thats what good about it. makes the king sludges death spell immediately useless against you.

In my opinion Barubary is by far the hardest boss in the game, I doubt anyone will disagree, but I believe that Barubary with solo Ryu is THE hardest boss fight in any RPG

actually no, he is hard but nothing that a lot of herbs and healing items cant handle

hard boss: Dullahan from Golden Sun 2, Omega from FFV and the 7th Saga bosses are a real pain in the ass

haha, i agree, omega was a REAL bitch.. man was i disapointed with FFVII though.. i mean.. COME ON!! i reached sepiroth att Lv 72, and i whopped his ass!.. in my opinion, he should be twice as hard as the two weapons (Ruby & Emerald) COMBINED.. now THAT'S a real boss fight :D!!

hahah so true, but at least you'd get a frecking SWEET challange.. and since it's a little imposible i think the game should also grant you the FFX abillity, to switch out charatchters DURING battle.. that would be the world's coolest, fucking boss battle ever :D

sephiroth is a cakewalk with the level u have. and he is still easy to beat at the high 30 early 40s even though he can be somewhat annoying that was my level when i first fought him.

but barubary was a very tough battle when i fought him 12 years ago. i was even in the 40s in level and he still owned me took me 10 tries to finally best him. the less hp he has the stronger is all attack becomes even doing damage to over 300 hp maybe more.

Then you fight him with only Ryu. If you beat him that way, he gives you a hint about where to find a treasure chest with a LifeBR in it (it's to the right of Barubary, you need Katt and Sten to reach it). You can still get it without fighting alone though.

I have the GBA version of this game. When I first went through the game I played this battle alone and the second time I had actually gotten all the shamans and used them for everybody. I had Shamans for Sten, Katt, Rand, and Jean. I went through to Dologany with Sten, Jean, and Rand with shamans, but switched Jean for Katt for the next part of infinity. However, she has such low stamina and low defense along with low HP so she wasn't any good and I had to get the shamans again after anfini.

ya she's an extra though so you have to look for her in the desert and talk to the ghost people. After that, you find her at the magic school disguised as somebody else.

truly the greatest andmost toughest boss in the bof series. the barubary is my fav boss and i refer him as the true last boss instead of that crap artist deathevan. man when i first fought him it took me 10 tries to finally beat him. record against barubary 5-32 heh love the challenge. most challenge since zeromus on ff 4

Too honorable if you ask me, considering the level these guys were at. I'm amazed that the video creator even managed to make it past all of the annoying random encounters in this dungeon as they are annoying as hell even if you're 10 7-8 levels above the part in this vid.
