I played virtua fighters on sega saturn when i was a little kid ... and missed it so i was looking for the games on the internet and found they have it for playstation too and then found out it was an anime

Actually the story for this anime is pretty different from the story in the game series anyway.

And incidentally, yes, Italians do watch anime on occasion. However, they also watch many other things. For example, they also watch game shows, sitcom reruns, horse races, Looney Tunes, and the World Cup to name a few... that said, this is still pretty weird. I didn't know they bothered to dub obscure short-running anime series specifically for the Italian audience.
