When we lose love, the temptation is to fall into hatred. This is a coping mechanism, if we can focus on a persons flaws, or how they wronged us, then we do not have to feel so bad about losing their positive influence in our life, and the way that the righted us. As Carrie Fischer once said, "resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die". It serves no one, and hurts everyone, but mostly yourself.

The idea of lost love is an illusion anyway. Love is never lost, only changed. Once we have loved a person, we never stop, if we do, we usually discover we did not truly love them in the first place. It form, intensity and focus will evolve, but it never truly goes away.

I feel u do really need to love yourself first, how can u give something u don't have? I don't know maybe that is a crazy way of looking at it, but love and know yourself. I also believe love is a very strong word, just as hate is and have taught my kids to not use those words lightly (not that they listen 2 everything I say) LOL. I think this is why there is so much divorce too...people think that because they have grown & changed etc that is terms 4 divorce...ur suppose 2 grow together.

No. That's completely the wrong attitude. We are social creatures. We desire and want to be cared about. We are all imperfect creatures. There will always be flaws within us that others will see. Love is that which cares for us despite our flaws, despite our imperfections. That's unconditional love: rare but not complicated.

This video is sooo deep, and sooo true, This video really hit me and made me realize that not many people in this word realize that, like you said, true love resides and starts with yourself. The only thing i can do now is look back and took at myself and see where and if i did wrong.

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but i always know for sure when i'm in love. If you don't know if you've ever loved someone...you probably havn't. If i'm truly in love with someone, i just know. It's a distinctly different feeling than simply liking someone alot. That's just in my experience, of course.
