Wait a minute, I tried that, it removed the skipping, and it also removed some background music in one of the tracks! SHIT, $28.00 for two CD's, that started skipping a month after I got them, and I tried this trick! My best advice to everyone, don't try this, save a little extra money, and get yourself an Ipod. That is what i am doing, and please don't try this!

Actually cleaning discs with toothpaste is a well known and professionally approved way of cleaning cds. You probably just didn't do it right, or had a irrepairable cd. Try getting your facts correct before you start criticising.
