  • awsome song and songwriter. But would love to play this one on the Bagpipes here in Canada lol I think it would be a great hit if it's done right. lol

  • much better than rascal flatts version

  • my fav song of all the versions he has real feelings in it

  • good job.

  • great song! jeffery is a great guy!

  • what a song and what a performance!

  • His two vids with you are awesome, but they would be a million timesbetter with actual video.

  • I want to hear the Faith Hill version..I know it's un-released, but does anyone know where I could find it?

  • u would need to talk to his publisher about that

  • wistful. good rising chorus. tight lyrics.

  • I liked hearing the history, I liked the song, I don't like the slideshow. It's a step above seeing one picture the entire time but a video clip of the songwriter would've been much funner to watch. But I can understand that that isn't always available.

  • I have always liked the song and like it more now with the history. I think it would be more meaningful with a video instead of slides but I enjoyed it. purkster60

  • It was pretty cool to hear the background of this song. I didn't even know who sung this song before I heard this.

  • Even though this was my first time hearing the song i thought it was done very well. Also having the words in the video was a good idea.

  • Nice idea to put songs information befor the song. I like the song but it got me even more interested in the Hawaiian version.

  • Yeah where IS this Hawai'ian version?!? - I don't believe it exists...I live in Hawai'i, and I've never heard it!

    ;)

Excellent interview, but terrible 'video' (c'mon, it's not even a proper slide show AND most of these photos are so super-naff!!!) - of course, there's no quality control on YouTube so I suppose it's all par for the course; if posting it got a few hundred people thinking about the stories behind songs & songwriters, so be it...

  • OFFICIAL RETRACTION: The Hawai'ian version DOES exist!!!

    ;)

For the curious, it's available on iTunes...

(P.S. it sucks!!! - the VERSION, i mean...so no angry defensive response from all U 'Hurts' fans, OK??! )

  • good song but a video would of been cooler than slideshow

  • love your comments before the song began.

  • I like this version better mostly because it is an acustic version.

  • I have heard the song before and I love it but it was great to hear the history, very interesting!

  • Love the song. You did a great job on the video.Nice to learn something new about the song.

  • love your comments before the song began. you doing any seminars

  • I love this song. I was nice to get a different feel for the song. It's a sad song but has some great lyrics.

  • I love this song!!! I like this version of the song!!! This is a very sad journey for someone to have in their life.

  • This is one of my favorite Rascal Flatts songs. I had no Idea that this man wrote it but a great song.

  • Good Song But I would rather see a video not a slideshow.

  • Good song! I like the twangy instrument the most. It sounds sad, yet edgey. Good job. I'm adding this to favorites.

  • It is nice, but it is quite a sad song.

  • I like this version better than the Rascal Flatts version. Good song.

  • Very good. It was nice to know how the song originated from.

  • Nice song!!!!

  • I really just don't like the song in general, it's not a good song to start out with and the radio overplayed it.

  • I like it. It's raw and feels live which is the best way to hear the heart of the musician.

  • I like this alot. It has more of a edge to it.

  • I never knew this was what a journey a song could have. This is very touching.

  • This is a nice version of the song. It is really peaceful to my ears.

  • This song is okay, possibly a little outdated sounding. Admittedly, I'm not a big fan of any country music.

  • not my style. little melancholy, little whiney, little old...

  • I really like this song, it's interesting.

  • i like his version better than rascall flatts

  • what hurts the most is not hearing it enough

  • the wordsmaster

  • Interesting how a song can develop

never heard of What Hurts the Most

    Until the cascada version
