You're r so right alot of people think Texas is country but we're not. I'm a native Houstonian born and raised here my parents are from Louisiana. i do love Zydeco and this music is Zydeco not country to this line dance.

@sodapops13, the song is actually Zydeco and Texas has a HUGE creole and cajan culture who LOVE Zydeco music. You would have to be "in the know" to know about this music. We do Zydeco, not because we think its country (in any way). We do it because we KNOW its fun!!:)

Thanks for your response Cheryl. I found "I Gotta Be Me" on iTunes and love it so much that I immediately made up my own Line Dance to it into which I incorporated some of my Zumba moves with some from another fave which is very popular here in the DC area "M&M Zydeco" which we do to "Come Go With Me" by Beau Jocque. As YOU are the Master Choreographer, I am so looking forward to learning your dance when you post it!! Love, Love LOVE me some Zydeco!!!!

I love your dance style and actually find your routines VERY easy to learn, compared to some of the other intructors. In fact, I attended a workshop in B'more in Jan. where your dances were the easiest to learn and the MOST fun!!! I just checked out your website and LOVE the song "Gotta Be Me" by Brian Jack. I assume there is a dance that goes with that but could not locate it. Please let me know...spreading Zydeco al over the Northeast!!! lol I LOVE your energy and enthusiasm!!

@cmb247cmb , you can clearly see that most of the ladies in this class are not professionals. They just look like they are having a really good time in a class. The title of this video is not "Demo of the Texas Zydeco Slide" so I do not think you should expect a count out of this dance on this video. "How is a person supposed to learn?"...how about take this women's class which she advertises throughout all her videos. Take a class or buy a DVD! Dont complain cause you cant keep up!
