  • still powerful and superb 30+ years after it's release....brilliant......

  • as always, great. another great Babys track, as per all the MC albums everything gells :), cheers, R

  • I love the way john waite imitates a guitar with his voice at 1:40 and 1:50 there's no doubt that along with Tony Brock he was one of the best singers in The Babys.

  • @The1stBaby. Hi from Australia Mike. don't know if you will read this but the original Babys lineup was brilliant and the definitive Babys. The "Broken Heart" album is still a favorite of mine even today. Brilliant songs and brilliant recording. Tony Brocks drum sound on that album is still the best drum recording I have heard to date. It is such a shame when we are only on this earth for such a short period of time that differences cant be solved. Still i wish you the best and thanks.

  • @1962apb Thanks for your kind & thoughtful post. My sincere apologies for not acknowledging it much earlier. I did my level best to bring common sense to the question of reunion in 2003-2006, only to be reminded that common sense wasn't anything the band was really noted for. A public posting of my letter to JW is on my MySpace site. It was, naturally, treated with utter contempt after which I turned my life to matters of more serious business. After 35 years I no longer have the time to care.

  • omg so bad ass

  • I understand that someone is hassling YouTube for Snowchild to remove this track.. I wish to make it clear that I endorse this upload as Chairman of Dayn Muisc Ltd, (The Babys' publishing company which held the copyright for it - which we all jointly own to this day), as one of the authors of the song itself, legally proven owner of the name, "The Babys," keyboard/guitar player for this lineup of the band & THE founder of the band.

    Michael Corby THE BABYS

  • @The1stBaby I saw the band on the subsequent tour but don't recall a Michael Corby in the band,,, were you on some of the studio tracks?

  • @HackerGuitarist I was the architect/founder of the band and started bulding it with my former best friend, the late Adrian Millar, in late 1973. I was 'ousted' from the band on August 28th 1978 & have refused to play in public or record ever since. I am on over 40 of the band's recorded works and toured consistently with the band as a multi-instumentalist. I also co-wrote many of the band's tracks, incuding this one.

After 25 years of living under a pseudonym, I retired to live in Scotland.

  • @The1stBaby awesome !,, I went thru my babys records after posting and you definately are all over them ,,I noticed you had a track on a later record called "postcard" was this a song that was held over or did you return to write some material for the band after 'head first'? ...I really like that track.. thanks for the quick reply

  • @The1stBaby shit, this is a great track, forgot about this one, dam, your a fuckin bad ass bro!

  • totally love the raw "rock n roll" of this track...why this doesn't get radio play on classic rock radio is beyond me! great tune...great band!!
