  • oh, and how is TobyMac still going strong for >20 years in the game...wow

  • I grew up on (with) DC Talk. Still my favorite christian hip hop group of all time...cuz they started it. They were the first big group that showed you could be successful doing christian hip hop. T-Pain, The Grits, Lecrae, etc. all owe thanks to DC Talk

  • GOD is great i wouldnt be here other wise on my knees but Jesus hold my hand and pulls me up :)

  • something this good can never go out of style

  • Here is a fantastic music video that the Christian world will love! It's called "Don't forget about the walk." It was written and created by a small town pastor that is also making a feature film and has written four books. You don't want to miss it! You can go to his website by going to alanmakimusicDOTcom and seeing his music video on the media tab or search for Alan Maki on youtube or Godtube. It would only take a second to look. Show some support! He has wonderful devotionals and an app too!

  • This song always make me cry ><

  • i am a christian. iv'e been hurt inside the church and outside cause of my disablility and it dose hurt and when i have been hit by the holy spirit and nevere been the same sense man love being a jesus freak

  • @spud2ooo Hang in there. Unfortunately it hurts the most from people you think are supposed to be on the same team but don't act like it!

  • Have you?

  • I have learned the hard way!

  • Christians aren't perfect, but forgiven.

  • D.C. TALK=DECENT CHRISTIAN TALK

  • PLEASE COME BACK DC TALK..... :/

  • As per usual people have to turn stuff into a bible bash.

Its a music video people. If you don't like Christian music why are you here?

  • Kevin kinda reminds me of david bowe

  • LOVE this song :)

  • Father..why do I want to learn the hard way.....?

  • Absolutely love this song!!

  • Okay you say that "real" follows of Christ wont hurt people, though some Christian do have a messed up way of treating people who don't believe what they believe, we are all human, and though we may be followers of Christ, that still doesn't make us perfect...

  • so why did these guys break up? they are awesome.

  • This a very underaded song.it has a great meaning to it

  • Still a great song and let us never forget the brothers and sisters in prison...been doing prison ministry for 35 years and i really do love this song....i still dig DC TALK...

  • wich one is toby

  • @10Jonyboy the guy with the beard

  • @Kooshy03 their music change my life.. i saw them in 95 as well!

  • I have to comment on this :The question is why does god slaughter Egyptian firstborn children, then have the sick Hebrews celebrate the fact and call it PASSOVER? elvismilk 1 week ago

    - GOD did not slaughter anyone, sadly that is all our own doing (I mean human kind). I have to agree with lots of points in this thread but in the end it is between us and HIM...noone can judge us, noone else has the deciding end word, all we can do is find out for ourselvs, pray and go from there.

  • The beautiful thing about God is that he is a forgiving and loving God; through our good times, bad times, and of the best of times. Just like falling off a bike, we as His children, when we fall, He is always there to pick us back up regardless. Just like any parent will tell us..."we got to learn the hard way".

  • Some of us have to learn things for ourselves, the hard way. Some of us keep doing things the hardway for years, decades, until one day, it is like a light goes on. Let us come to the end of our stubborness, look up and let God work. Allot of the problems of life are brought on by ourselves. I can attest to this. We are not an Island. We were not made to make it on our own. Why is it the I've always got to learn the hardway.

  • This song (like others by DC Talk) has helped me stay on the path to the Lord Almighty, I have stumbled many times just as others have. I feel that this song in particular has touched me in a way no others will, I do usually find out for myself and learn the "Hard Way". I know there are others like me out there but I would like to meet them. Please comment on this if you have ever had a time in you life that you need a lift or you may have not made it, like me.

  • @Double8J

Please get rid of this post, Music is a form of worship and this is their type of music, if you trust this search that you posted then you need to read the bible more. DC Talk is not a group of devil worshipers they are expressing their love for the savior Christ through music. just because it is in that style does not mean anything other than they are trying to reach people who like that style of music.

  • @Ioshua811 Got Ya...

  • M GUSTA ESTA CANCION ES SUAVE Y LINDA.........

  • @dethbird1960 because we have selfish natures :\

  • The Video for this song was shot withen the walls of the M.R., (Ionia, Michigan) Michigan Department of Corrections in 1994.

  • This video was shot on location at the Michigan Reformatory Ionia Michigan, (Michigan Department of Correctionsa) in 1994. So I am guessing the sone came out not long before.

  • rip nate doqq

  • niceeee!!

  • think early 90's dc talk has not been together since 2000 i think. Tobymac is solo and Michael is with the Newsboys.

  • How old is this song?

  • Aren't all of these arguments distracting us from the point of the song? I don't get it...

  • There are two ways to piss people off, talk about religion, or talk about politics. It appears here that the internet's ability to start flame wars continues on. Any who great song and video I have always loved this song.

  • What I love about Christian artists is that 9 times out of 10 they stick to Christian music, and worshipping our Lord Heavenly Father. You rarely ever see or hear (if it truly really has ever happened) about an Christian artist in the news regarding something crazy stupid as far as beinga arrested, drinking, or drugging. They walk, talk, and act of who and what they are all about and that is being disciples of God and spreading his message and his love. God is good!!

  • G is @elvismilk in grade school or what....childish....

  • Are you serious, if you find not believing in superstition and murder as a virtue childish then enjoy your vile fantansies you slave....

  • @elvismilk We're all slaves. Who do you serve? Self? Work? Ego? This World? We've said no thanks to those things & Yes to Jesus Christ - The One True Lord. Even though it would be better to be a servant in God's house than a master in hell, he lifts those who trust Him to family status... forever!. Just ask Satan if it was worth it. Eternal hell & the Lake of Fire versus Heaven w/God. Why would anyone want to join him? He is THE Murderer/Destroyer of the ages. Just say Yes to Jesus and live!

  • He is the murderer, you are talking about God right?, because if you don't consider slaughtering Egyptian firstborn children murder then you have one crazy idea about slavery and serving your ego......

  • @elvismilk With your logic I assume you say the Allies were murderers for executing the Germans responsible for the holocaust. FOR YEARS the Egyptians had been kiling the firstborn Jewish males (remember the story of baby Moses?). I guess you just like calling God a murderer. If you ask me, God was very patient and merciful because He gave the true murderers 9 opportunities to repent. I wouldn't have been so generous if they were mercilessly killing my people and children!

  • Hey sick imbecile, did the Egyptian firstborn children kill anybody?, your god thing should have just killed the Pharaoh, you think? You thinking this monster is generous is plain sick, and you're vile idiot.

  • @elvismilk By that time all Egyptians were indoctrinated into their fear and hatred of the Hebrews, which is why they had no conscience about killing their firstborn sons. Somewhat like Nazis Germany - who took it a step further aiming for all out annihilation of the Jews. And just like Nazis, the Egyptians felt no remorse for the killings - they just let the people go because they were forced to. God gave the Egyptians 9 chances to let His people go, but THEY refused. God was and is Righteous!

  • @OneWayOnlyJesus You're forgetting to explain that death is only the beginning. An atheist fears death because he/she believes death is the end. A follower of Christ has nothing to fear in death. One must remember this fundamental difference in thinking when trying to explain God, or His word.

  • In other words, When god kills=good, when anybody else kills=bad, evil, satan. That's pure comedy...

  • @elvismilk What is your thinking about what the Egyptians were doing to the Israelites? What are your thoughts on that?

  • The question is why does god slaughter Egyptian firstborn children, then have the sick Hebrews celebrate the fact and call it PASSOVER?

  • @elvismilk That wasn't my question to you. I am asking you a question. Again, what is YOUR thinking about what the Egyptians were doing to the Israelites? And I am curious... are you Muslim?

  • They were doing what the god thing and humans have done thoughout recorded history, and that's kill each other, and that's not a great thing if you like to wake up and enjoy the sun, rain and wind.....hope that helps...

  • @elvismilk Yes, I do like to wake up and enjoy God's creation. Absolutely. I would like to know - since you noticably favor the Egyptians because you appear to be blasting only the Hebrews and the Hebrew/Christian God - are you Muslim?

  • I don't favor any superstition. You do, and by the way which god thing are you saying created what you enjoy?

  • @elvismilk I see. So are you an athiest?

  • @elvismilk

It's pointless, like trying to argue with a brick wall. Just let it go, Christians think they are always right and everyone one feels the same way about their own beliefs. making comments on youtube won't shine any light. They'll call you the devil. Or band together to take you down in fits of conservative glory. Think of it as Nazi regime, how people tend to act in cult like situations. I'm not going to respond back to this, so all you people waiting to eat me alive, it's in vain.

  • @desirewhitefire - I know you don't want to hear this, and you might not even read this, but if any Christians have hurt you in the past, then... I'm sorry.

I really am. Real followers of Christ don't do that. Unfortunately, there are always people in every group who think they're doing right when they really aren't.

  • @Dan00bindahouse ....well said my friend......very well said.

  • @Dan00bindahouse not true. we are all sinners. "real followers of Christ" sin just like everyone else does, they screw people over and lie and do all those horrible things. don't make a false illusion that we are somehow better than others. The Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for EVERYONE'S sins. by grace we are saved through faith! everyday is a battle with our flesh and every day we fail miserably. the beauty is that even in our sin Christ loves and forgives us.

  • @canesgirl23 - That's true. But a Christian should be concerned with one thing and one thing only: bringing people to Christ.

I think a lot of the time, Christians do more harm than good by getting so caught up in the world that the only thing they're concerned about is the "I'm right you're wrong" aspect of religious debates. Thus they speak the words they would speak as humans. Not the words God would have them speak as children of the Most High.

  • @Dan00bindahouse You also have to realize Just because we are Christians DOESN'T mean we are perfect. We all make mistakes. Some of us get a little to "Over"zealous.I am sorry if you have been hurt by people who claim to be Christians,But the bible tells us we must make allowances for each others faults and forgive. It also tells us that We all fall short of the Glory of God.Only God knows our hearts so we cannot judge someone and say that they are wrong ya know.

  • @Dan00bindahouse I never do right. None of us are capable of right or good works. The first moral story of the bible says God gave us everything and we wanted more. Perpetual motion is life and against God's will. Ever held the trigger for an electric race car on a track? Did you ever put yourself in the car? That, I believe is Christ's way. We are all capable of it.

  • @desirewhitefire There's a few people who will hurt others and judge others all in the name of Christianity. Those people are hypocrites. I'm so sorry for them. They are responsible for the way you think today and I pray that those views you have on Christians will change. The definition of Christian is "someone who follows and adheres to the teaching of Christ" and if those people are judging you and calling you a "devil" they are NOT Christians. They may claim that all they want.

  • @desirewhitefire You also have to realize Just because we are Christians DOESN'T mean we are perfect.

  • @elvismilk Your perspective is incorrect if you are saying the Hebrews were celebrating the death of the Egyptian first-born. The Hebrews celebrate Passover in commemoration that God provided away for their first-born to NOT be taken by death. You see, anyone who did not do as God instructed by putting the lamb's blood on their door frames lost their first-born whether they were Hebrew or Egyptian. They are celebrating death passing them over...thus the term PASSOVER.

  • @SilverHamer My perspective, do you read what you write SilverHamer, oh better yet, do you understand regardless of your perspective what you just wrote? You just made my point, it's called perspective, Hitler and Germany used it, the Chosen Ones use it, Christians use it, Foxnews uses it....I think you are catching on.....

  • @kawfer1 If you followed the story, God offered many options b4 He resulted to killing the first born....if you ask me He went more than the extra mile...just like He has for you & me.....He's kindness is the thing you must ponder.....JK

  • Religion is a superstition invented by people who are afraid of dying.

You can believe whatever you want if it makes you feel more secure, but it's still total bullshit.

  • @madladgregor "afraid of death". You do realise lack of consciousness implies lack of suffering? derp.

  • 1 person didnt' learn the hard way =D

  • The hard way is the one you appreciate the most, secondhand wisdom isn't as convincing or as changing as knowing it for yourself. It yields the most change but is the hardest to obtain.

  • in the temple of God there were 3 places, the courtyard, the holy place and the most holy place, separatted by a curtain no one culd go into the most holy place with the exception of the high priest once a year, because god was there, however, when Christ died on the cross, that curtain, about 20 feet high was ripped from the top down, symbolizing anyone could go to God because Jesus gave his life for us, and hes preparing a place for us right now, all you need to do is accept him. END

  • in the bible every verse points to the gospel or "good news" the new testament is a written record of jesus' life, paul's ministry, and john's vision. you may say that christians are vulgar for "stealing the old testament" from the Jews. however it wasnt stolen. Actually, Christianity is just completed Judaism. you've heard of the ark of the covenant correct? well once in the OT the philistenes removed the mercy seat gods judgement without mercy= death, 70000 men died instantly NEXT...

  • 70000 dying instantly is good news? You're sick, but hey so is every other Christian slave to superstition.

  • Isn't that Ice-T @ 3:40? LOL

  • The OT is basically all 360 prophecies of miracles and Christ' coming. the NT is the ministry of Christ and the writings of Paul after 40 years christ and the Apocolyptic writings of John. that's the Bible in a nutshell.

  • Trust me, this nutshell, like the mousetrap that your god thing couldn't even create, only cracks each time a Christian opens their mouth with silly utterings pertaining to false truth contained in the absurd myths of dead men....

  • god bless you all god is very good to his children

  • Satan, antiChrist, same thing right and yes I am a christian, jesus freak if you will and not ashamed. Like I said you WILL have your conversation with God one day. So, why are you hating on all of us that believe?

  • Wrong, Satan believes in your god thing, an anti-christ like me 2John1:7 doesn't....FACT....

  • hansah10.......Be like Paul in the Bible....don't ever get over your conversion....Here, there or in the air bra.....Jesus is beautiful.....

  • You mean Saul/Paul the reformed Christian killer, right?

  • @elvismilk " it amazing how God can change a life....give Him yours.....or do I smell chicken??????

  • @elvismilk Oh dear

  • Elvismilk or should I say Satan why are you even listening? God will find you one way or another.

  • Satan?, please, I am an anti-christ you know it all Christian, 2John 1:7

  • I've listened to this song since I was 5 and it's never failed to hit me on a deeply personal level. Now at 23 years, I still love it. I've been places you'll never go, done things you'll never do, smoked things you'll never smoke;) and loved every second of it even though I knew it was wrong. I still haven't gone back to christianity, and I never will. But I feel like I have finally been saved now because I can see what's worth living for and what's bullshit. I'll never stop seeking truth.

  • Comment removed

  • @dickinthesystem I tried that, i consider myself an idiot for doing so, i knew the right thing to do and yet i did the wrong thing, my sin was master and i was miserable, then i went to a church conference and finally turned myy life to christ, it was then that my search for the truth was over and it was a feeling like non other. It is better than anything you could smoke, you wont be saved out side of Christ John 14:6 I am the way the truth and the life no man comes to the father but through me

  • Wow Super Clásico =) Dc Talk 4ever !!!

  • Such a powerful song. Makes me think of me teenage years and all the horrible mistakes I made. Thank you Lord for opening my eyes and helping me to become the man I am today.

  • I love this song too...

  • i wonder sometimes how these guys can take everything I'm feeling and so easily just lay it all out for me to see. I'm a pretty messed up indiviual at times, but this song has always gotten me though the hardest of them. Every word of this song feels like my life sometimes.....anybody else out there feel the same? "Why must it always take me so long to see that I have fallen but you will forgive me" -how can you not take comfort in those words?

  • @MrBlktalon3 We are much alike you and I and agree whole heartedly with what you have written here. This song has seen me through a very tough and rough test. I love it and I love them. Praise God for the music that he bring's us through them. I love the song "IN THE LIGHT" it to has comforted me in some hard time's.

  • @MrBlktalon3 Amen! :)

  • this is truth

  • I'm an atheist and I love this song.

  • @electricbradyland wow that's cool

  • @hbugirl Thanks

  • So are the Christian idiots, they don't believe in all the other gods, just like I don't believe in their silly one.

  • @electricbradyland How's that working for you? What you gonna do when you find out it was baseless? That you can't save yourself? That you are a sinner - like all humanity - and your sins are stuck to you for eternity? Believers in Jesus Christ have said No Thanks to that. And we've said Thank You Jesus for your eternal love and mercy - the bestest, most wonderful gift ever!!!! Why reject it? Makes no sense whatsoever.

  • @OneWayOnlyJesus

It's working just fine for me.

Just because I'm not a Christian doesn't mean I'm not a happy person.

  • @electricbradyland How can you live without believeing in God and be happy in this world? What hope do you offer, for example, children being forced to be sex slaves? Man's problem is sin, and he loves it more than truth (God Is). A truly born-again Christian (follower of Jesus Christ) will share the love of God in hopes of changing hearts that are depraved without God. Jesus Christ alone is THE Way, THE Truth, and THE Life. Without Him you are eternally lost, please put more thought into it.

  • @OneWayOnlyJesus

    I just do.

As for children being forced to be sex slaves,I think we can both agree that is absolutely abhorrent.

  • @electricbradyland you must wonder sometimes, what happens after you die? someday the things that make you happy wont be there, what then? however, christ will never go away, he wants to know you more, he wants to be your friend, he loves more than anything, and he can make you happier than anything else in the world, after all, why settle with the creation, when you can know the creator, hes my father, why cant he be yours?

  • @TheZayin77

Actually, I don't wonder what happens when I do.

I don't even try to wonder what's going to happen an hour from now. I just focus on this moment.

  • I learned the hard way...so much self inflicted wounds..but I found my knees...and I found the way.Thru losses dear to me.Here I am now...cofessing a way in faith.Wow....just nothing but faith of things not known yet remain to be seen.I believe it...then see it!

  • BELLA !

  • Praise God for finding us when all our human nature wants to do is reject Him. His love and mercy is more than we deserve and yet he gives it freely.

  • @tubaliz1 I agree completely!!! He is so amazing! No words can even begin to describe His love and mercy for us! He's the best thing that's ever happened to me. I love Him so much, and am so glad for Him! :) None of us truly deserve Him, but He loves us so much that He gave His son to die for us! Woo! Praise Him!!! God Bless you, and everyone else! :) <3

  • @tubaliz1 Amen! This is so right.

  • Some people have to learn the hard har and i was one of them . I was a gang banger and got caught up in some hard shit and spent 3 years of my juvi life in DYS (Juvi Prison). While in there i Learnt that the banging ways was no tthe way to go and i turnt to God and asked him for help. Now im in college and i have a family that im supporting .ANd i curently attend OUL (Ohio university lancaster)

Oh Deus, Nos ajude a mudar Pai !!!!

  • @bumoma I also had that to go by the most difficult way....

I "undid" a marriage that was already in plans to happen....

It was of this way that the Dad brought me back ... for way....

Because we have to be asssim? do we always choose the most difficult way?

Oh God, helps Us to change Father!!!!

straight up translation(Portuguese) but where he says dad and father ithink he means lord not sure o.0

  • LOL, Jesus didn't even marry, so what is this difficult way that you traveled versus the difficult way the man on the cross did?

  • i love this song!!

  • @whoknowz999 Thumbs Up

  • Kevin Max is one handsome man. I'm unashamed. He's got a gorgeous voice and he's handsome.

  • Kevin Max is not merely a man... seriously I think he's an angel.... the perfect hair, the perfect voice, the perfect shade of blue eyes..... the man is not average... at all..

  • @bethanyannasophia Im sure he would argue with you about that. He is very humble.

  • @BigMommanTX I'm sure he would. But that's just my opinion. He's intoxicating.

  • How does the white guy without a hat always have perfect hair? LOL

  • @bendustries Kevin Max is just that cool :D

  • I LOVEEEEEE THIS SONG♥

  • this song is one of their best, i dont see alot of christian bands still doing things like this.

and as a after thought, michael looks like he could fit in there haha j/k

  • Truly a moving song I really love this one Good job on relaying "the message." Remember to pray god does and will listen to you.

  • I had to learn the hard way. I destroyed my life and was a proud agnostic. God found me and changed my life. I'm a completely different person now, but I had to learn the hard way

  • @hansah10 You learned...thats the important thing.

  • God found you, LOL, why couldn't he prevent the previous life you destroyed and save a bunch of steps. You say you were a proud agnostic, like you no longer are, come on imbecile, you still don't know, and if you keep claiming you do, then you're just as ignorant and vain as the Hebrews were and the Jews are today, and can't forget those vile Christians that usurped the Hebrew religion....NEXT....

  • @elvismilk god can't prevent you from destroy your life becues he gave us freewill. you have to late god into

your life and ask god to halp prevent anything.

  • @elvismilk vile christians? usurped hebrew religion? the hebrew belief system was a forerunner to christianity...

  • LOL, then ask yourself why there is still a Jewish forerunner religion. Your thinking is typical of the vulgar Christian that calls the Hebrew scriptures the Old Testament, what an insult, their book is the Tanakh, without the vowels of course, but hey, the bottom line is Christianity is like breast cancer...

  • @elvismilk i believ it was spelled "Torah" but i could wrong, and it wasnt the whole old testament it was just the first five books also how are christians vulgar? you keep saying that they are yet you present no evidence

  • You are trying to correct the wrong person TheZayin77, the Hebrew bible is know as the Tanakh, of course the Hebrew alphabet has no vowels, regardless I never mentioned the Torah, Pentauteuch, or Talmud I mentioned the Tanakh, the scriptures that Christians claim the Hebrew's can't interpret, which Christian turds call the Old Testament.

  • @elvismilk umm im pretty sure if it was the hebrew bible it would at least have the torah in it and besides the jewish religion is diferent from christianity but that doesnt stop it from being its precurser

  • Different from Christianity, WRONG, love thy enemy and neighbor, and the meek will inherit the earth, guess what?, both from the Hebrews, yet you say Christianity is different from, LOL

  • @elvismilk "christian turds" LOL

grow up, I actually thought you were 12 years old for typing that.

  • You did Johan, wow, what would make you believe I was typing adult material, something like claiming dead men rise to an afterdeath life thing? How about morphing, polytheistic god things that are together the Father, son and the holy ghost, yep that's probably more adult for you, huh? NEXT...

  • @elvismilk well for one thing calling christians turds is highly immature, just because you have sum unknown grudge against them that no one could possibly concieve y you have it give you no right to insult anyone

  • @elvismilk Why are you so angry? Is it so wrong for people to believe in something greater than themselves, something that unites them and something that can change someone's life for the better? Why do you feel the need to bash on the beliefs of others? Everyone has the right to believe in what they want to believe in. All you are doing is making a fool out of yourself.

  • @elvismilk Why are we "turds" for calling it the Old Testament?

  • It is all about Christian bias, telling the Jews they don't know how to interpret their own Tanakh, come on....to the Jews there is no old testament......get it yet?

  • @elvismilk It's not that they don't know how to interpret it, it's that they missed the most important interpretation of Scripture and dismissed Jesus because they believed that he wasn't the Messiah. They're still waiting for the Messiah, while we believe he has already come. To them there is an Old Testament, they just call it the Tanakh, while we call it the Old Testament to distinguish it from the New Testament Scripture.

  • Vulgar=believing some father let's his son get slaughtered, knowing that most parents alive today would sacrifice themselves not their children. NEXT..

  • @elvismilk christ went willingly to the cross because he knew that there was no other way for you to get to heaven, he wants to see you there, so i dont see how that is so vulgar, actually u r right in a way, the old testament is what the jewish religion is centered around and christianity is like judaism, however a major difference is the new testament, the old testament points to the new testament, they say in ever british town there is a road to england, its the same in the bible Next...

  • Christ went willingly, so what, he's divine right? and this is the best him, his father, and the holy ghost could dream up? LOL, come on slave to superstition, it's 2011, move on Man....And wrong, Christians claim the OT(Tanakh) points to the NT, not JEWS, so it's not the same, sorry Pal....

  • @elvismilk this was the only way, not the only way that they could dream up, he needed to die in the ot (or tanakh) his covenant with abraham, i will make you a nation, was israel, the ot (tanakh) sacrificial was INCOMPLETE they have to keep sacrficing and sacrificing, its a never ending cycle but the new testament completed it, its also historically correct, the roman empire WAS around that time!

  • Historically correct, LOL, who was the scribe for Eve in the garden? or was it Adam that hired one? And really historically correct or incorrect shouldn't even be an issure if every bit of it is inspired by some god thing, right?

  • @elvismilk In Exodus 33 Moses enters the tabernacle and God talks with Moses. Moses begged God to show him his glory. God said, " I will make all my goodness pass before you." It says He placed Moses in a cleft of the rock and it says He showed him his "back parts". (God also writes on the tablets of stone here, the 10 commandments). Moses is given credit for writing the first 5 books of the Bible, which includes Adam and Eve. It is my belief, it is here Moses receives...in the beginning
