  • Hey skibob, what run are you carving on at 0:13? Is it Whiskey Jack?

    A pointer for people having trouble with this exercise: make sure you're skiing at a moderate pace. if you're crawling along, you'll need to contort like crazy to balance properly--not the goal of the exercise. Also, the more you flex in your knees and ankles, the easier it is to balance.

    This is a good exercise to practice every time you're on a fairly empty runout back to a lift. I love it!

  • It is an exercise yes, but foot and ankle focus is always good as it gets down near where the action is; the ski.

  • Thankyou. I started skiing in the 70s and have never stopped. I am trying to get away from weighting unweighting and went for a lesson on a dry slope. It is a whole new technique and this video has been helpful too x

  • Sorry for the delay! This is of course an exercise. Blend the skill into your daily skiing. you will have to steer more your skis and use more than your ski shape to handle a narrow Chute or steeper terrain.

  • If that narrow slope was much steeper, how do you reduce your speed?

  • wow very nice looking form! I have a question. If I roll my ankles like that I feel like I will fall over. Am I supposed to lean my upper body in the opposite direction to counter? Also it seems like you are rotating your upper body in the opposite direction of your skis? Am I wrong? I just ski on blues and black without much carving. I skid most of the times or go straight. I have Volkl Katana 183cm if it dictate on how you will answer my questions. Thanks!
