Kafka Hello, I live in Sao Paulo Brazil, I found your videos on youtube and found it very good, you're done well, here in Brazil is weak pinstriping, so I do not even think to buy stuff, I would like you spent a relationship materials should I buy to start in prinstriping, there'll buy at ebay or if you can be showing me another way to be buying better, I await your contact in a big hug and congratulations for the work. email engwellingtonz@hotmail.com Wqueiroz
@greaserleo I use and recommend Staedtler omni chrome pencils ,they don't melt, easy clean up, no ghosts, same price as a Stabilo. Me and most of my friends use them, and love them.
@MySqueakyfoot The more you practice the more they will, it's worth the effort. If you need help you can e-mail me steve@kooltie.com and I'll try to help you.
Good morning, try steve kafka .com you'll find the "systen" it has helped a lot of stripers find their own way into this incredible art form without being frustrated.
@kafkapinstriping i hope so too, im just getting into pinstriping. ive always wanted to, its just so hard to find brushes around here in ontario canada
Is there a site to buy your brushes and your video I tried the mack brushes and had no luck but yours looks so much easier and would love it if you had a book pf basic patterns as i do old school rat rods and choppers and would love to stripe them and ty for the video it was great and your right I want to do my stripes "the Kafka Way" :)
@cbill3259 Well,if your using an omnichrome pencil you wait until all the paint is dry and you spray Windex on a micro fiber cloth and wipe it off, on most surfaces.
is there a link that someone can refrence me to pinstripe circles or very harsh curves, i can lay down a mile long stripe with no bump but cant get the damn brush to circle back without making the line thicker
@robertdr118016r I'm going out on a limb here and assume your using one of my scrolling brushes... Stay up on the tip of the brush and use natural wrist action to make circles, don't spin or twirl the brush between your fingers, and watch all of the videos they will help you. It's a blast so don't get discouraged, it's worth the effort.
Some of my panel work is available on my space or facebook my daughter Lily handles all that for me . I made a bunch of aluminum kleenex boxes ,painted and striped o'skool , all of the panels on the videos are for sale too ,$100.00 each ,some are gone some are not .. I'm thrilled your enjoying the System .
These brushes are a blast , you'll love them . They're sold by Summit racing ,Eastwood , Coast Airbrush, steve kafka.com , Dick Blick . and many others world-wide If you have questions just ask.
Thanks for your response. I am a student going to school studying fine art painting and my instructor suggested I try using this technique and material in my artwork. Could one shot paint and this style brush make successful lines anywhere other than on a vehicle? For example, a wood panel?
I myself have a fine arts background. These brushes are great with acrylics on any surface , several well known artists use my scriptliner sets and my striping brushes. This has been the single most rewarding art form I've ever been involved in ,you get to face to face with the client, no 50% gallery fee and they pay in cash ,with a huge smile. You can find all of my brushes on Steve Kafka .com. There are thousands having a blast and supporting themselves at the same time. I'll help when I can
@Sarskianna Lacquer is very rarely used in modern times, it's actually illegal in quite a few states. I'm using an oil-based sign painters enamel called One Shot . The drying times are relatively short depending on things like humidity , temperature &, air movement . Ideally it will dry to the touch in 3-4 hours. Lacquer will of course dry sometimes in minutes.. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the kind words, and my wife has already straightened me out on my apostrophe placement, as did my daughter and several other viewers , I promise it will NEVER happen again, it just felt more natural somehow.
Steve you do some amazing work! and i have been pondering striping for a while now and watching you has given me the itch! lol I just picked up a #3 and a grid about and hour ago! As soon as brown x-mas stopps by in a few days i will be stripin on! Thanks for givin me the boot in the ass to get to it! lol
hey loco you works are very impresionants i like you disegns , i have i question, is reducer o some tipe of oil what you aggre a the ink to made more easy to aply. thanks sorry for mi ingles

@GIbo9mm Well you can use the brushes your friend brought you and get your paint on the internet ,when you get frustrated enough try a #3 scroller they are sold all over the planet.
@thesoria1 In all of the videos I'm using my # 3 scroller , I've just released my new Short Stroke brush, a shorter version of the # 3 They're selling fast ,and people love them ,only a few dozen left out of the first production run . they work real well for smaller handed people . Have fun,
that is amazing im 13 and im trying to get into pinstriping and i think the peice that you did is one of the best ive seen. and if you have a kit i would be happy to buy one.
@BikerDude096 You are the perfect age to get involved , the harder you practice the better you'll become .Check out System , on my site ,or Coast Airbrush or the Eastwood co,or Summit Racing , and call with any question you may have ,and I will try to help , good luck Jake ,have fun with it .

going to ordering my brushes today. question, what do you use to seal the work? your using that oneshot paint right? and what do you have to consider for surface prep before you start?
I have watched your video several times, especially your hand and finger movements. I have a very difficult time making that brush slide in curves. I find myself reverting back to the sign painters practice of twirling/twisting the brush.
I just can't seem to get it down. There must be a way because you are doing it. Groan.
@texicane1 Stay up n the tip it's a little harder to teach an ol dawg new tricks but we all are happy to stop twirlling and we don't have to wear those damned tutus anymore!!!keep on practicing try some small flame licks they are a blast with the #3

I love your brushes. I bought your kit and I am having lots of fun learning and practicing - even though my striping is not that good.
The #3 brush is excellent - a thousand and one uses.
I also bought something called a "Bobbo Mack - 00" which is similar but smaller.
I also have one of your 000 'dager' brushes which is great for designs with lots of straight lines.
May I ask what that black material is that the work is being done on?
