The quote about "depart from me" is, I believe, a statement about hypocrisy, that pleasing God is NOT about "prophesy" or "driving out demons", but about how people treat one another. I absolutely believe this was taken by later translators and turned into this vicious threat, quite unlike Jesus.

I think that America needs to have better sexual education, especially in the southern bible belt states. Sex is a part of life and it's not innapropriate or "gross" people need to know how their body works (something GOD created) so that unwanted pregnancies decrease. The quote about "depart from me" is, I believe, a statement about hypocrisy, that pleasing God is NOT about "prophesy" or "driving out demons", but about how people treat one another. I absolutely believe this was taken by later translators and turned into this vicious threat, quite unlike Jesus.

Why don't you promote abstinence education through similar means and not have it taught in schools. Both sides are trying to push it through the SAME METHOD. One one side it's teach abstinence, the other side says teach safe sex. That is the argument and I am arguing teaching safe sex over abstinence on the grounds that abstinence doesn't work.

If people did follow biblical teachings I don't see how AIDS would be an issue, but they don't. If you teach condom use, then those who won't have premarital sex won't have sex regardless and those that will have premarital sex won't get pregnant or contract an STD. This is the problem with teaching abstinence, those that will have sex will have no information to protect themselves.

Also the idea that the people who won't touch a condom won't be having premarital sex is unsupported. Yes the logic makes sense of what you are saying but it isn't the reality. It isn't because abstinence doesn't work for the abstinent, it's because those who choose to have sex won't wear a condom and thus it spreads the disease. It's because as you would call it this "sin" has further ramifications such as killing parents leading to a multitude of orphans.

I think that America needs to have better sexual education, especially in the southern bible belt states. Sex is a part of life and it's not innapropriate or "gross" people need to know how their body works (something GOD created) so that unwanted pregnancies decrease. It's surprising how many young people don't know about sex, ejaculation (the drip method or "precum") and how sperm cells and eggs work.

Standard medical practice is to refer to the length of pregnancy by the date of the last menstrual period (LMP). "Crisis pregnancy centers" go by gestational age (2 weeks less). One of the CPC employees says that, "The little 10-weekers are fully developed." So the fetus she refers to is really 12 weeks according to the accepted standard of LMP. If it's fully developed, though, why doesn't a miscarriage at 12 weeks result in a viable, live baby? Answer: It's NOT fully developed, nor viable.

Abstinence only education does NOT work. Several studies have shown that teens still have sex at the same rate, but are less likely to use a condom (taught condoms don't work anyway), therefore more abortions (what they are trying to prevent in the first place.)

I drove from Texas to Pittsburgh via La and Alabama, then home this last summer and felt like I needed my passport every time I went past a pentecostal church or a sign saying "don't kill your baby." I think in some circumstances abortion is ok. It definitely should not be seen as a form of contraception aka a free ticket to fuck with protection and not have to face the consequences.
The main focus should be educating young people about sex with facts not propaganda to push either sides agenda.
