ok, everyone, I discovered Luna while watching a compilation hand job video--yes that kind. The music was fucking cool! Hedgehog and Peaky Freaky (I think) was playing over all these cum shots.
Anyways, music was so good I bought two of their CDs right away and started diggin through the vids. Great stuff!
i recorded this on VHS in 1994 and was so so so obsessed with it. so so so so. that and the seed performance that came before or aft, can't remember which.
@cbmccarthy I saw this show too, in S.F. - it was my intro to Luna. I followed them to the very bitter end where I saw their last tour here in Portland. Once, again, while visiting S.F., my friend and I got backstage at the Warfield and met Dean. Dean and stale sushi. It was a "moment" in my life! :-)
@cbmccarthy saw Lou Reed in 94 also but it was the Feelies opening for him...which consisted Stanley Deminski on drums...i guess New york had just been released.love Lou Reed...but the Feelies kicked ass
i want to like this band, i really do. I absolutely adore Galaxie 500, and thought Dean & Britta's 13 Most Beautiful Songs was great (live anyways), but this song sounds horribly generic. I mean, the opening riff alone sounds like something from Sublime. what am i missing here? what should i listen to?
@Kinshasa9200 check out "Penthouse." I feel like on that album Luna became a band of their own, rather than a post-Galaxie 500 project or Dean Wareham solo effort. If that makes sense.
Favorite band, BIGGEST FAN RIGHT HERE! why is it that whenever i type in luna on youtube nothing comes up except for right now?! never seen them this young before so thanks a million jimaluko!!
@SystemFreaKk13 whoever it was. i saw the luna at Sommerville, MA....in the theatre. i had seen Phish there 7 or 8 or more...years ago...in the Sommerville th....i saw Paul Westerberg at SMT...
man, LUNA has got to be one of the most under rated bands of all time...thanks for posting, this is really cool to see. also great to see LUNA without that canadian dweeb Sean...even he could not kill the band!
@scoremat See that long haired guy? He is "that Canadian dweeb" to which you are referring. Before Sean Eden joined Luna they were a little bit boring.
Never "alt rock". Let`s do everyone a financial favour by calling it "pop" - great for the thinking, great for the integrity and pleasure of it all, better for the musicians` pocket. Stop daydreaming, and do it. People like Wareham would be loaded, overnight. Pop stars.
Dean had the flannel and the hair, but good grief, could there have been more of a mismatch between MTV 120 Minutes and Luna? I guess there was a fleeting moment in the early 90's when all bets were off for any alt associated bands..
@jimaluko This comment makes no sense, but it sounds like you didn't live through it. 120 Minutes was the only place to see Luna on MTV. They were rarely, if ever played in rotation. 120 Minutes was the last saving grace of music television. They had already started to show The Real World, which started the ultimate downfall of an already trite network.

What mismatch was there between Luna and 120 minutes? You don't think they did fit in that niche?
