That means 16.5 NZ dollars.When considering the purchasing power it's almost same as the wage in your country.So don't think the above is the condition everywhere in India.But I agree that giving just Rs 80 is really bad.

The country has only been independent for 60 years and was left in devastation by the British. Given that, India has come a very long way in just 60 years and most economists believe that in another 50 years India will have improved enough to be considered among first world nations. Obviously this will take time and effort, but it will happen.

@jetstream60 ---rich indians barely makeup less than 1% of India's population ,hence they are insignificant,the middle class make up 30% of india's population and if most of them start feeding the poor they themselves would become poor.the only thing that can help the poor is rapid industrialization,free education subsidized food,free schooling,subsidized health care...which India is doing and you will see the results by 2020

lol there are countries like uk,newzealand and australia that call themselves developed.i was in britain in january what i saw there was that there were drunk people,rascism and various people were using drugs.the roads are good but there was too much traffic and pollution.people behaved very odd with me and i never felt secured.

poverty is not a problem for us.its reducing every year in india.an indian lives in panic in entire europe because of rascism.security is more important than money.u people roam in europe drunk and drugged there is always a chance of getting shot.i am happy with our infrastructure as long as we are safe and united and not rascist like u.unity in diversity.
