Rule's only context to Bundy's personality and persona is her brief time working with him and several statements conflict regarding such. It will probably take an actor like Christian Bale and a director like Chris Nolan or Scorsese to sort through all the info by Rule, Larsen, Michaud, Detective Bob Keppel, Kevin Sullivan and interview Evans, Davis and others to make a truly compelling film about the enigmatic psychopath that was Ted Bundy.

She also criticized Harmon's portrayal and while the one flaw in that film was not showing Bundy's appearance changes from place to place, it was a portrayal of Bundy at the time the murders took place and the context in which author Dick Larsen knew Bundy; part of Evans campaign committee and patronage appointee; a darling of state GOP boss Ross Davis, Gov. Dan Evans and state GOP heavyweight Marlin Vortman; charming and handsome...

Yet, Rule never mentions that Bundy was a delegate to 1968 GOP convention in Miami (his 1st Fla jaunt?) and that he had been involved in politics at the local level and as part of Rockefeller campaign and to be a conventon delegate requires some level of people skills. Plus, if he was able to save lives at Crisis Center, as Rule has claimed at various points, one has to have some kind of interpersonal abilities...

THE STRANGER BESIDE ME captures some bits of Bundy in his pre-murder times. However, his relationship with Ann Rule and depth thereof has been debated for years, given he worked with her for only a year or so. Plus, he own accounts of Bundy contradict each other. On one hand, she says she never suspected anything under his perfect facade and on another hand, she has called him a non-entity (at time she knew him) and awkward/socially unaware...

Thus far, the only film that has captured the events and history of Bundy and his crimes as they ctually took place is THE DELIBERATE STRANGER with Mark Harmon. In that film, they capture and portray the information the police received and were responding to at the time: A young man with his arm in a cast or posing as a policeman, driving a tan/metallic brown VW, using his own name in one case.

im not one for sick psychopathic movies, but i am a big film fan & i appreciate a well made film whether its in the genre i like or not. i have read about this man & in my opinion he is without a doubt one of the evilest/twisted etc. serial killer i ever heard of & i believe such a film needs to have a far darker treatment then what this appears to be
