Not quite. It's not that black and white. I don't think I wrote it clearly.. these behaviours are also embedded within the human psyche: dominance, submission, inclusion, exclusion yadda yadda. We're naturally social animals so these behaviours are partly there to begin with. External forces reinforce these behaviours whether these behaviours are positive (sharing your cookies) or negative (pushing the nerd into the sand pit). I tried to sum it up but it became vague.

I might add though, I think on average, negative behaviors is more predominant in childhood then adulthood. From personal experience I found there to be an inverse proportional relationship between age and 'mundane' violence. "pushing the nerd into the sand pit" being a prime example... it seems quite innocent, but how often do you see adults being subjected to violence due to intellectual pursuits in any remotely civilized setting.
In retrospect, children are not any more 'pure' then adults. Humanity and ethics (and I mean ethics, not morality) are an acquired skill, not something that is hereditary. I'm sure an average educated adult is more humane then any child.
I think the more 'mature' one is, the more one is likely to display dispositional attributes, as opposed to situational, as demonstrated by the Stanford prison experiment. (ie a child is more likely to do immoral things then an adult, given the opportunity)

Not quite. It's not that black and white. I don't think I wrote it clearly.. these behaviours are also embedded within the human psyche: dominance, submission, inclusion, exclusion yadda yadda. We're naturally social animals so these behaviours are partly there to begin with. External forces reinforce these behaviours whether these behaviours are positive (sharing your cookies) or negative (pushing the nerd into the sand pit). I tried to sum it up but it became vague.

I might add though, I think on average, negative behaviors is more predominant in childhood then adulthood. From personal experience I found there to be an inverse proportional relationship between age and 'mundane' violence. "pushing the nerd into the sand pit" being a prime example... it seems quite innocent, but how often do you see adults being subjected to violence due to intellectual pursuits in any remotely civilized setting.

In retrospect, children are not any more 'pure' then adults. Humanity and ethics (and I mean ethics, not morality) are an acquired skill, not something that is hereditary. I'm sure an average educated adult is more humane then any child.
I think the more 'mature' one is, the more one is likely to display dispositional attributes, as opposed to situational, as demonstrated by the Stanford prison experiment. (ie a child is more likely to do immoral things then an adult, given the opportunity)

People in general should thank Muslim women for having the courage to go against the "trend" and to dress and behave in a modest way. Are there extremes being done? Yes, no doubt. sorry at the time i wrote that i was in a bad mood. i respect the muslim culture and i was appauled by the fact he could talk about something that he didnt know anything about. and probably i did the same thing but one thing i know , muslims dont have to wear the veil. its TRADITION not RELIGION to cover the entire face,right? and i guess i got angry that he questioned something that doesnt even exist.

Covering the face is not a requirement! The prophets wives were the only sisters to do this. The sisters that do it now simply do it by choice, if they think they need to or there husbands make them then they do not know there rights or there religion.

The wearing of the Hijab is only oppression of women if women are forced to wear it by either physical force or public ridicule. If a woman decides for herself that she wants to wear it without force of any kind from islamic men then there is nothing wrong with that. I am Christian and I believe that decisions such as what to wear should not be forced either physically or socially.

When apologists of the veil say it's a choice...come on..A choice would be me enjoying wearing jeans but my boss asks me to wear a suit because we meet important clients at the office today. I'll agree to wear the suit, and when the meeting is over, I'll wear my jeans again. No supreme court needed, it's common sense. But try this with veiled women, it doesn't work, as if the scarf grew on their head! Sometimes society requires you to take it off, and there is nothing wrong with that. Grow up.
