  • can someone give me a link for a 64 bit version of this game... i cant find one

  • @aaronalpha147

Sry i must laugh, thats the funnies request i have ever seen. This game is near 20yrs old & you ask for a 64bit version. Search with google for DOSBox with that you can emulate the game & you can play it on your 64bit machine for sure.

  • I dont know why, but these warcraft 2 cinematics are friggin terrifying, the orcs are demonstrating a bloodthirst and savagery unmatched by modern day orcs and their like. I will allways find inspiration through these cinematics when I need inspiration for savage bad guys.

  • Thanks, came here to watch the intro before starting WC2 for the first time. Thumbs'up & hope it's a good game to play..

  • this makes me cream my pants

  • I like WoW and Warcraft 3 but this will always be my favorite. One of my favorite RTSs also.

  • @Biankito Warcraft 3 was great for its time. It may not have been as good as this game, but it is certainly better than WoW.

  • God I'm old...

  • The cinematic seem to be from the Battle Net edition, or platinum edition as I recall. Much less ships in the original tides of darkness editin.

  • I remember my cousin bringing this game when he came over to stay with us for a few days. I was around 9, and he was around 15.

He then began playing it, with me watching. I remember complaining about the game being boring, with him still on the first missions and all. However, as the missions progressed and the battles became bigger and more interesting, I was in love with this game.

After he left, he left me a copy of the game for my own leisure. You could not believe how excited I was.

  • @zammyk really brings back memories this :D you know you can download the free multiplayer of it... its brilliant

  • 0:37

Hah, i like the orc who stares back into the camera who is like: The fk am i doing here.

  • Oh God this takes me back.

  • I remember once I had my old girlfriend coming over to my apartment to hang on a Saturday, I was still in my PJ's when she arrived. Hey, I was lazy at that time. I sat her down to watch this video off of Kazaa (remember that?!) or Morpheus... I can't remember which, while I changed. When I got back it was over I (I was changing and putting in contact lenses) asked her, "Kind of makes you want to join the fight huh?" She laughed and agreed.

  • @Biankito Well, you're right! But the darker and less cartoony was the stand of designing and graphic, watch other games of the 90's and you know what i mean. Buuut, i would too like to have this darker style back (or just more modern 2d 16it games like sc1)

  • @Biankito haha I totally agree with you in every point

By the way, I heard that blizzard will do Warcraft 4, which will work like Starcraft 2 engine....... It is scheduled to year 2013 :( quiet long.. But why not, we can give them time. When Blizzard develope game, it will become best seller fast :P

Also, didnt know much about Warcraft 4, but I heard rumor that says it will be about return of Sargeras, and Win of Burning legion............ That sounds strange for me, win for BL? well, lets see

  • Shit, this scene gave me the chills when I saw it as a kid more than a decade ago...

  • i always thought it was so odd that the in warcraft 2 the orcs are like the bad guys and warcraft 3 there like the good guys...sorta. its odd.

  • @Spazzosity

Yes, Warcraft 3 felt like a totally different world, even if they explained that the Orcs had suffered demon corruption previously to Warcraft 3. It just didn't work with the tone of the previous games.

  • Can someone help me please? In warcraft 2 how can i create a play 3vs3 vs computer?

  • @laflugantabastardo Apparently there are 9 kids currently in the 90's who would disagree.

This game was so amazing and I was absolutely stunned by this intro video.

  • Lol @ those annoying rasping noises when the humans pick up their weapons.

  • This is so much cooler than WoW...

  • My friend said that Blizzard will ignore World of Warcraft if Warcraft IV is made because they have very different fanbases.

  • @LlamaLlandPictures I really, REALLY hope that would be true....otherwise, if Warcraft IV doesnt PROPERLY continue the storyline where Frozen Throne ended, Warcraft is indeed totally and forever ruined for me =(

  • i have to admit, this is awesome even now

  • Blizzard need to keep in mind that when they start developing Warcraft IV and it's storyline, they do it FIRST AND FOREMOST for Warcraft RTS fans, NOT the WoW players in mind

  • @Balnazzardi Too bad they make all their money from WoW and therefore they don't give a shit about the RTS fans. Also, technically, WoW IS Warcraft IV, as sad as that is for me to say, it's true. I still think they should retcon the fuck out of it, make it an alternate storyline, then make an ACTUAL Warcraft IV.

  • @sirfragalot92 Well I agree with you on that statement =(...I really fear that 1, they dont either return Warcraft back to RTS at all or 2. Warcraft IV will continue the raped storyline from last WoW expansion.....

On the other hand, I wish and want to believe that since Warcraft started as RTS, Blizzard will also eventually continue it as RTS....and also if by the end of last WoW expansion, all the villains are killed, how the hell are they supposed to create anykind of storyline for WC IV....

  • Lol at the top comment typo. Orca Whales vs Humans eh? ;)

Also I just want to point out this was the golden years of Warcraft. But all good things come to an end. I wonder why WoW hasn't ended yet.

  • Warcraft 2 Had SO GOOD VOICE ACTORS. I miss them...

  • all of their games for the rest of my life, no matter how great they might be.

  • BEST......INTRO......EVER!!!!!

  • Best RTS I ever played.

  • Damn the memories

  • how young we were ... and the trees were higher and the sky bluer

  • it´s funny how i remember this with better graphics!

  • Much medieval board RPG geekness, and a lot less conformist bullshit.

  • remember playing this on ps1

  • pure epic

  • Looks old, but it's still kinda cool.

  • "Ready to serve my lord" Epic.... Don't know why they made the human and orc basic builders sound so g@y in WC3...

  • Wait, this tune is also used in trolls and elves or not?

  • I really hope if they make a Warcraft 4, they'll pretend WoW never existed and continue the lore from where it left off in WC1 and WC2. Meh, I guess they can keep WC3 as canon bu for God sake WoW does not belong in the Warcraft universe.

  • @Delta0prative I totally agree with you...WoW has totally ruined and raped everything I once loved in Warcraft, and if in Warcraft IV Blizzard doesnt continue the storyline where it ended in WC III: The Frozen Throne, they have totally and forever ruined Warcraft for me and so many others....For me WoW is not part of the canon and lore, it never was and it never will be...and If Blizzard were to piss us Warcraft RTS fans in the eye, by continuing the storyline from last WoW expansion,I'll boycot

  • @Balnazzardi Well for one they can't continue to the storyline from Wc3: FT because they continued it in WoW. So its not going to happen no matter how hard we wish lol. What they should do. After they pump out the last three expansions for WoW, they should start up a new fresh story. With the mentality of Wc2 in mind. Honestly I hate Blizzards take on the Orcs. Since when were orcs.... nice? They are brutal. Ya' know? But yah. Just my two cents. Fresh Story would be nice. Or remake Wc2.

  • @TheTunaflakes Easy...they either rewrite the storyline entirely from clean table like WoW never happened,OR more likely retell the main events of WoW in much more detailed, deeper and better way than it ever was possible in that damn MMO...and from different point of views.because really,Blizz cant just go assume that every WC fan and everyone who would like to buy and play Warcraft IV has also played WoW and everyone of it's damned expansion, they are 2 totally different game genres after all

  • WoW and Warcraft, although set in same game world, are pretty much 2 totally different game series (if you can call WoW and it's expanions a game series)....Blizzard needs to realize that, realize that WoW and Warcraft have quite different gamer audience, altough sure there are those who like both....but I know very well that out of those 12 million WoW players quite many couldnt care less about the storyline and lore of Warcraft, they havent played Warcraft RTS games and wouldnt buy Warcraft IV

  • Hey I was like 11when I played this!! Thumbs up if you are a kid in the 90's

  • @BREBOYDE

I don't think kids in the 90s can read the thumbwhoring comment you left in June 2011.

  • @laflugantabastardo hmmm let them be :D

  • @BREBOYDE 1991 here:P but played when I was 8+ years old

  • @Poulie0001 yeah 1998 me :( but I dont know 1991got wc2 I think it came from 1996 :P fail

  • @BREBOYDE xD u didnt get me lol xD i was born in 1991, and If i played it when I was 8+ years old, it means I played it in year 1999+ :)

  • @Poulie0001 oh sorry, I played this at 1998 which is I am a bit older :) I was eleven when I played this

  • @BREBOYDE I was 7 and i enjoyed it very much ! ;D

  • Come play warcraft 2 again at server.war2.ru and you can download the free version of warcraft 2 and play without a CD online on our server. Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-check it out

  • is Warcraft 2 Battlenet Edition the same as eny Warcraft 2 ?

  • @SirKillerBunny

Yes the only difference is, that this version contains also the Addon from Warcraft II.

  • @SirKillerBunny Actually, the Battlenet edition was the version that allowed you to connect to the multiplayer server. The 'Battlechest' edition was the one which came with the expansion.

  • i would play this game all the time when i was small kid like 7 maybe or 6

  • @ErikaCn100 Yeah, this game is happy and the "grafic" rocked in it's time. I also fell for a troll. I want to see you do a better game you CoD fanboy.

  • @ErikaCn100 haha funny troll...

  • @ErikaCn100 hey timmy, i think your mom just called you for dinner. these 8 year old trolls haha

at first i thought you were just stupid when i saw your comment on the last warcraft video, now that i see you again, i know you're just a troll. and i do play call of duty, but i play the call of duty that was about WWII, you know, the good ones with actual story and some good action. not this modern warfare and black ops bullshit. that's why 5 was the last good call of duty

  • @ErikaCn100 ...

  • "Your soundcard works perfectly!!"

  • I remember playing this on Windows 98, is there a DOS version as well?

  • @MisterAAnderson Yeah the original release of WCII was for DOS; the B.Net version was redesigned to run natively on Windows.

  • @259 Ah, very well thank you. Also I think it's at the time I was at the side of Command & Conquer when the war between Warcraft and C&C fans began :P Amazing times...

  • I used to have this memorized.

  • @xshortguy word

  • I remember this from when I was 5 or so years old...this, Baldur's Gate, and Icewind Dale were all I played. I want to play those games again, but I don't have them nor do I have an old computer |:

  • @JTIanEater

all what you need is a WinXP machine and DOS Box. With that you can play every game. Thats the reason why i cant understand to using WinVista or Win7. It's for real Players absolutly useless. My is a WinXP machine. i can play from MSDOS 3.56 till Win7 all games. Little Info: DirectX 10 was ported to WinXP. Search on google. :)

  • @G4mm4G0bl1n and who are you to determine what a "real Player" has to be like?

  • @tutu1987

I dont determine. I say Win7 is useless for People that dont play everytimes the newest. Got you Win7? Start the game: Beasts & Bumpkins. Say me if it works on your machine. :) Dont say i use Win7, because i got a new machine with more then 3gb RAM. For that i say you, use WinXP x64 its a nice OS if you can install and handle it and it supports multi-core Processors till 8 Cores.

  • @G4mm4G0bl1n but the problem with earlier versions of windows is that they cant support enough ram memory for new games.

  • @Supersomonerandom

Not correct. It exists a WinXP x64 version. Supports the same amount of ram as Win7 or Vista. :)

  • @JTIanEater there is a new dvd version of baldurs gate 1and2 and the wc2 battle net edition should run fine too (at least on xp and i guess on vista too)

  • I remember when this game came out....fukin awesome. Even today that intro still is sweet

  • where can I find the full story of this game?

  • @abdullahalghafli google WOW wikipedia

  • @G4mm4G0bl1n

What i mean. The History and Features are the same as with WC2 + Addon. You got the same Game nothing new for the Saga.

  • @G4mm4G0bl1n if you feel like the turning point in wc series where it became better accessed to play with others around the other regions around the world is insignificant fine.

  • @G4mm4G0bl1n i still believe wc2bne was major part of history for warcraft series

  • @xxblueogre

What i mean is that the Version not included more Saga material. You got the same game as with WC2 + Addon.

  • @G4mm4G0bl1n You forgot Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans :)

  • Most epic song I've ever heard in a video game.

  • i love this game

  • Warcraft 1 and 2 were really awesome in their days. After that, the Warcraft theme took a nose dive.

  • @SuperSmilingSmiley :( ...i think making WOW was huge mistake done by Blizzard.

  • @ViciousCritique Well it spawned a whole generation of snotty fanboys, so that was definitely the end of my personal interest in Warcraft :-)

  • @ViciousCritique Oh yea.. Blizzard making WoW was so stupid on their behalf. They hardly made any money out of it did they? And the subscription base? It's tiny iirc. May as well cut their losses and turn off the servers now, I'm sure there can only be like 2 or 3 realms with a game that unpopular.

  • Cheat modes for Warcraft 2 here they go.

If you want more gold just type in the bottom of the message bar and type:Glittering Prizes.

For more Lumber just click to the peasant who's cutting the log just type: Hatchet and lumber gets chopped at a faster rate.

Now if you want them to work faster just type: Make it so.

And you don't want them to die: Just type it's a good day to die. I think, not sure.

Easiest way to finish the levels.

  • Blizzard new what they wered doing "ya we will release a few strategy games over the years no big deal then BOOM we hit them with WoW and make Millions MUHAHAHAHAHA"

  • you got moving cinematics i only stills on the Mac, booooo!!!!! >:-(

  • Can someone help me? When I attempt to play WC2 I get strange colours. And no, I don't have an old PC. It is sorta modern, can someone help me?

  • @Jeremias98667

Search for DOS-Box for your Windows distribution at google. Your graphicadapter don't support less colors then 16-bit and WC2 is 256 limited colors version and a resolution of 400x300px. Look on Youtube how to setting up DOS-Box and usage.

  • @G4mm4G0bl1n i got original cd so i dont need cd:P

  • @Jeremias98667 One tactic i learnt is to keep the display tab open when ure playing the game or with windows 7 to keep the screen resolution tab open

  • bought this game, rushed home, installed game, checked sound card, it worked perfectly, ran the game, saw this intro, shat my pants

  • I remember when games were actually fun to play! Just like this one. Todays games are too advanced for me, and the only reason why they are produced: Money!!!

  • hard to believe the same company that now makes a faggy anime cartoon MMO for 15$ a month used to make good games for 39.99

  • The orcs in their rightful place: As antagonists

  • hahaha man getting nostalgic! games during those days, despite the graphics, are much much more addictive than games today

  • Warcraft > WoW

  • epic voice is epic

  • Hi, could somebody help with how many warcraft games there is? I only know about reign of chaos and frozen throne, Appreciate if anyone could set them in order for me aswell. Thanks.

  • @jimmsens

    Wc1: Orca & Humans

    Wc2: Tides of Darkness

    Wc2 Addon: The Dark Portal

    Wc3: Reign of Chaos

    Wc3 Addon: Frozen Throne

    WoW

    WoW Addon: The Burning Crusade

WoW Addon: Wrath of the Lich King

    WoW Addon: Cataclysm

  • @G4mm4G0bl1n

Technically there is one more. WarCraft 2: Battle.net Edition. It combined the original WarCraft 2 and the expansion, and was ported to Windows 95 natively. It contained many upgrades from StarCraft. It was still the same game, but had things like right-click context sensitive commands, and different keyboard shortcuts. It also fixed many bugs with the games, and fixed the problem the original game had running on modern CPU's.

  • @G4mm4G0bl1n you forgot warcraft II BNE the most important it was a combo of tod and bdp :)

  • @G4mm4G0bl1n

    Orcs* & Humans

    Beyond* the Dark Portal

You're forgetting the discontinued Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans, Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition, and the trading card and board games. Also, they're called expansion packs, not "Addons".

  • @macabrebunny

Not to mention it's also called The* Frozen Throne and the first Warcraft is not called "Warcraft I". Since he's not familiar with the other games it would also be helpful to not that "Wc" stands for Warcraft and that "WoW" stands for World of Warcraft.

  • @macabrebunny note*

  • @macabrebunny

Thank you, Have a nice day.

    P.S. LOL, Orca & Humans.. I wish.

  • @G4mm4G0bl1n Orca and Humans...The whales are attacking.

  • @AcquiesceNothing

Some kids are annoyed, why? If typed one word wrong and they think it would be an attack against this great masterpiece from blizzard. So take the letters their are wrong use your brain and change the letter in the right one. :)

  • in My day we played with a stick and a stone, nowadays you young folk have all these techno gizzies

  • i have this for my Sega Saturn

  • i still have this game

  • Oh well this was a good game not like World Of Warcraft what they have now.

  • lol 0:34. 3 orcs on 1 ship... really effective :-D

  • No matter how old all every Warcraft game Blizzard made was a masterpiece of its time.

  • LOOK AT THOSE GRAPHICS!!!

  • When the Humans see the GIANT FUCKING ORC FLEET..

    FUUUUUUCK!

  • blizzard made a huge leap from wc 2 to wc 3

  • @Zaipangu It wasn't really a huge leap you can see the progression in the games they made in between....you're look at 5 years between the releases.

  • 151 hours to render, 1:51 mins to watch.

  • i was so hyped when i got this game. it was one of my favourites.

warcraft 3 is also one of my favourites.

if i were to choose a game... id choose both.

  • Warcraft 2 >>>>> Starcraft 2

  • @Chatonildis no, but for one reason : i prefer fast-paced rts.

    which is why : sc1>wc2>sc2

  • Now we just need to down Garrosh.

  • Memories!

  • Comment removed

  • wat i dont understand is why everybody is hatin on wc3 its a gret game so play before u judge

  • Looks like the water never changed till a month ago 0.0

  • Blizzard Entertainment

''Making the Epicest trailers. Since 1991''

  • For the horde!!!why are the dwarfs skinny at 1:11?

  • @maxaslagolis

That´s humans. They are using Dwarfen Cannons

  • Who else misses WC2 Online Free Castles games?

  • This game had such a sweet instruction manual, as well as a sweet everything else. I MUST FIND IT. It will make for epic toilet reading. This is why being a tween in the late 90s ruled. haha

  • almost 10 years since I played this! going to download it now ;D

  • "Your soundcard is working perfectly".....

  • @Wizzad75

hehe, thats really a retro backview. :D My first soundcard was an Adlib Gold. One of the first 16-Bit Soundcards. :)

  • @Wizzad75 "It's doesn't get any better than this"

  • @Wizzad75 word

  • Good old times, the best part from the Warcraft serie!

  • Wow, I haven't seen this for probably 10 years, but I was STILL able to quote the beginning part word for word. "The once mighty army of Azeroth" and so on. I must have really played WC2 a lot as a kid. o_O

  • when i was a child i used to play this game. This song scared me the first time i played it! Goosebumps now :D

  • @masterluuk4 Same here dude. Just listen do that song man!

  • Are they attacking Tol Barad?

  • The 90'ties, Worst 10 years for politics and Best year for games!!!!

  • good thing about wc2 is that it ain't about fairies and anime-like swords.

  • @NavySeal546 Exactly! In my point of view, WoW ruined almost everything about Warcraft.

  • It pisses me off that lots of WoW players never heard of WC 1 and 2

  • Warcraft 2 is awesome! Fuck WC3 & that dota shit.

  • @vanagumsabagum Fuck Wc3? Why? It is a very good game, full with good lore and gameplay. What DotA has to do with Warcraft is nothing almost. It is just a game created by a player who thought he would have some fun with it. It was not created by Blizzard or anything. Ofcourse Warcraft 2 is awesome but so is Warcraft 3!

  • @vanagumsabagum People only like this game because of the nostalgia...

  • At that time they still liked the game. WC3 was a step back for its generation as Starcraft set the standard for RTS. WC3 overcentralized gameplay with the use of Heroes.

  • Wars should be like this...no guns...no missles...just str8 sword to sword....arrows to arrows.

  • Remember my old Warcraft II Clan AA, we owned. So sweet times. BGH, Choc Chop farms etc. Sweeet!

  • There is nowhere a thing like this. You can use the special adjective of suberb.

  • compaired to this wow is a kiddy game

  • w w w . server . war2 . ru

This classic game is still alive on a private server

  • (L)!!!! I love it!

  • Since the SC2 mapeditor is able to use WoW models i have thought of the idea to remake WC 1, 2 and 3 with better graphics.

same units, cutscenes and sound but with improved graphics.

So we can replay the old games with more action.

but first i need to play through EC1 and 2 and learn the full basics on the SC mapeditor:(

But well this is just an idea and i know not all like to have their old memories of the games slightly changed.

  • @MrFox1231

That was only a question of time. The Warcraft, Diablo and Starcraft series works with the same Engine, the Blizzard MDX² Engine. It's also possible to get WoW models and build that in Warcraft III, have made that in an instant. The Idea with the remaking of an old game is not new. In the Wacraft III WorldEdit Scene exists many remaks of Starcraft II clones with the Warcraft III engine and WorldEditor, but this remakes are really old and SC2 has to this time no release date.

  • @MrFox1231 yeah thats a good idea but idk how to put special models in, can u tell me?

  • @HyugaMonkey94 i dont know how but it is possible i have seen a short video of some one using a random model and another video where you play with the wow Wotlk Arthas model in a SC2 map.

and well here is a good example /watch?v=GfoU_EC9Ul8

  • @MrFox1231 do be honest I want the old games to stay the same beacuse there is a certain charm about them

  • @MrFox1231 I think that would be a sweet idea but, i mean, that would take like a LONG time, wouldn't it?

  • @MrFox1231 If only you could design your own special effects. :P
