I thought I had the same speedo model as you, but after taking a closer look to see if I could change it to kmph, like most speedo's, it actually has MPH printed on the front. :( model FC 701 I think...what's yours? You need to get out on the bike again with the Dv camera :)
that was heavy descent, nothing impressive, tops was 71kmh?I'm doing the same speed on upgraded hybrid bike, however 70kmh is pretty wild on bike, have to admit.Roads in UK are pretty bumpy or very grainy, where about you are riding?
I have two newer videos that are much better, crazy fast cycling and cycling too fast to furious lol. They are much faster and have more action.
I have been faster, 83.8kmh so far but it is tricky having the camera equipment setup and risking the equipment too because the roads are very bumpy and shake them to bits. I have to install the camera on my bike because I use a mini DV video camera.
Will be going much faster this summer so stay tuned.
what do you mean by last?they getting worn out by bumps on the road?they are so sensitive to vibrations?you buying 50 pounds camera every 6 month?thanks for reply
Breaking through the 70 limit is tough, but you should be able to hit 80 no problem on a road bike (if you get one?). Just work on your aerodynamic position and you will be fine.
It feels great going fast on a bike, but make sure you know the hill well before you start going for super speeds.
Hello! I see you have a Trelock speedo. Did you have any sort of problems with it? I want to buy one but I hear complaints on all the forums about them.
Looks like fun, shame you cant see the speedo readout clearly. Ive done this kind of thing before but on a mountain bike with knobbly tyres! Came down the tarmac road from Cairngorm ski centre, we were hitting 50mph+ and were getting lots of double takes from car occupants that we were overtaking.
Not as much as i would like, im gonna get back into it though. Snowboarding is my main thing really, cant wait for the new season im gonna try filming it and putting the vids on here.
great work at keeping up the speed...i can only do it for short periods before i get lactate build up

Is that MPH or KMH?
KyleSlaughter322 2 years ago
Unless the incline is alot more than it looks like, I'd say probably KPH

could you tell me exactly what type of recording equipment you are using?and what are the costs, also in which part of England you riding?thanks
atemlos2585 2 years ago
I use a mini DV camcorder and attach to just below the handlebars, you can see a picture about halfway through my other video.
You can use a wide angle lens too, to give a better sense of speed.
I pick up most of my cameras on ebay, they cost about £50 and normally last about 6months depending on how bad the roads are.

Yes, the shaking of the roads really destroys them - even with padding. I normally use about two/three cameras a year.

Unfortunately I can't brake the 70kmh speed limit due to bike,I'm going to replace it soon so my expectations are high.

man if you find those roads bumpy, come to Quebec... where you will find as many potholes and crappy roads as you want... lol
nice vid tho. what are you riding?

Nice biking!!! and sorry for my english.

Thanks for the compliment on the videos, your English is very good!
Yes, they are tricky to setup. I have had a lot of problems with the magnet sensor not working at speeds over 40kmh.
You have to put it as close to the hub of the wheel as possible, once setup and working they are fine.
I am tempted to go for a full analogue speedometer soon?
If you need any extra help drop me a message and I can send any info you need over.

Cool, yeah it is funny to see the looks on peoples faces as you overtake, lol.
Nothing like speeding on a bike though. Do you still cycle now?
P.S. On my Crazy Fast Cycling video, you can see the speedometer.

Cool. You should definalty get a cam.
I bought an oregon scientfic a while back they work really well as crash cams but they are limited resolution wise.
Look forward to seeing your vids soon!
Oh, I know it is a mix of the two but here is a vid you might like, check it out: "Glacier Downhill Bike Race, Saas Fee 2007"
distortedmotion 3 years ago
nice man i love downhill biking too it just sux having to ride it back up lol...
i learned that the video is a lot more stable when you attatch the camera to the frame instead of the handle
k1llljoy 3 years ago
Yeah, what goes down must go up. lol
I fixed the problem with the camera shake with bubble wrap and plenty of tape!
My latest video "Crazy Fast Cycling" is a lot better and faster if you want to check it out.
distortedmotion 3 years ago
I am gonna try that. Mine is attached on the handle and really a lot of shaking.

Alas no pads or helmet.
Crazy when you think about it.
distortedmotion 3 years ago
that's a neat speedometer on that bike, where did you get it?
thesoulsekr 3 years ago
Hi, the speedometer is a Trelock FC 900.
Can't remember now where I bought mine, but there are loads of places online that sell them, best off doing a google search for one.
P.S. I just uploaded a new bike vid if you are interested? It is called "Crazy Fast Cycling - ONE TO WATCH Fast and dangerous!!" Enjoy!
distortedmotion 3 years ago
did you reach speeds of 50km/h???????
wangtong04 3 years ago
Yeah easily, I nearly hit 50mph on the last hill, the speeds on each of the hills were 71.3kmh, 73.4kmh and 76.2kmh.
There is a very high quality clip on my website streetzips dot com under events and videos where you can see the speedometer clearly.
