This has been my favourite film since it first came out - and I don't even like Warren Beatty or Julie Christie normally. This is masterclass acting, comedy and it has heart, what more can you ask?

"Max, they don't have a football team in heaven - so God couldn't make me first string..." still brings a tear to my eye..

Jack Warden makes this scene. Great acting. Movies of this era are works of art. The crap spewed out today is pure junk. Check out Warden in "And justice for all", that is pure genius.

I always felt so sorry for Max throughout this film. He was the one that fared the worst and lost the most come the end. Wonderful film.
