I just love those uillean pipes when they're played right! This guy makes them sound really good; he's very consistent in pitch and knows how to play for sure. Great post and excellent playing.
@segano1 That's because they're called uillean pipes and they're from Ireland as opposed to most common bagpipes that come from Scotland; the Highland Pipes. These have bellows (sort-of like an accordion) instead of a "bag" with a tube to blow it up.
Irish and scottish pipes are both great instruments. The Irish ones are called uillean pipes and they are more difficult to play .But the scottish ones are more powerfull.
Dude, if you were to say: '' Do you play a bagpipe?'' The you would look pretty stupid, Irish bagpipes make more sense, and I know this cause' I play them!
@Toby89195 Only dogs and Englishmen get "mad", I get angry that I can't share with my grandsons. Nothing personal to you, just darn it, pretend this is a family place once in a while....Love and kissess....LOL
Check out its ancestor the Pastoral pipes, its chanter was cut from a C# to an Eb then a D and the Union pipes (later re-named the Uilleann pipes) was created.

Okay, but Scottish instruments are better.
That doesn't look like a bagpipe at all.

im a piper as well and also make an amature study of etymology. and bagpipe is the correct term for the singular, bagpipes is the plural.

whatever

it "Is" considered a bagpipe, not bagpipes. By the way, the "whatever" makes you sound really mature...
