  • is the new 335 that gets rid of the 2 turbos for 1??? bet it was because they seemed to be having problems with the twin turbo setup. glad the m3 is still NA.

  • @azluda87 they use an n55 engine in the 335i which is single turbo. the 335is uses the "older" n54 engine with twin turbos.

  • @xtaffcb

actually the 335is uses single turbo too

  • @phv628

actually the 335is uses the twin turbo, the N54.

  • 332hp, try to comapre with g37 i guess

  • With the right mods this car can do around 380,maybe 390 hp. The M3 needs to become a 465+ hp car so that the gap between the 335 and M3 is enough for each to have it's own buyers. Right now, only a moron would fork out the extra cash for the M3 for such little gain. the V8TT motor in the new 7 series should be upgraded to 480hp and shoved into the M3. Issue solved!

  • I just traded in my chipped 335i for a new M3. Trust me...it isn't all about HP and torque. The M3 stomps the 335i in every category except price, gas mileage and tuning options. You'd have to drive both of them back to back to understand. The M3 is just unbelievable. Sure, I could have tuned my 335i to easily beat it in a straight line, but the M3 isn't just about straight line performance. There is a reason it's considered the best sports sedan in the world. It's worth every penny IMO.

  • Cant say I agree with you, Best SMALL sport sedan, maybe. Its best to watch ones words wisely when you just downplayed the CTSV and RS6. That aside, I am a mod-aholic. I currently own a 550 hp 6.7 liter fully built dodge charger, and a 500 hp supercharged G8 (6.0) liter. Both have also had well over 10K in suspension and brakes upgrades. I LIKE playing with cars. IMO, paying 60K for a car EVERYONE else can have isnt worth it. Paying 70K to BUILD one of a kind monsters is.

  • I absolutely understand your view and agree with it in many ways. However I wouldn't call a 70K sport sedan a car that EVERYONE can own. Also it can be modified too, if that's your thing.

Also, I did misspeak...I meant that many auto jouralists consider the M3 the single finest all-around automobile in the world. It does EVERYTHING very well. I've driven the CTS-V and would take the M3 over it anyday. I would prefer the CTS-V over the M5 however, but I prefer the smaller, more nimble autos.

  • Also, those are two impressive cars you own...very nice. I like the idea of modding cars, but just don't have the time. Enjoy them.

  • i know plenty who mod m3s. you make it seem like only american cars are modifiable....

  • I know many guys with moded M3s as well. My cars are American because I love the rawness of a huge small block. In the past I also had a turbo eclipse and supercharged RSX. ANYTHING can be moded, which is why I originally said I thought the 335 moded was a better buy than an M3, but a guy who owned both disagreed. However, I tell you thins, you drive a 500hp M3 and a 500hp Charger,Mustang, or camaro, and you'll have more FUN in those cars. The M3 is too refined. The 335 less so.

  • "M3 refined" you must drive one before you call it refine. Not denying you'll have fun in a muscle car, neighbor across the street had a chevelle and my dad used to own a nova. They are fun cars but handle terrible. love their torque. please dont call bmw refined because it sounds like you never driven one.... one most unrefined cars Ive been in was a buddy rx7 drift car, thats unrefined.

  • I'm comparing it to a charger, which you can assume, even with all the upgrades, still handles like a bus. One of my cousins has an M3. I have driven it. My dad has a 2008 750il, I've driven that... ALOT. My mom had a 1998 740 back in the day. I've grown up with BMWs, and am considering a 550 when they are released. They are very very refined when compared to a charger or SS. Maybe not when compared to other cars, but when compared to my babies, yes, they are sharper, and the power is less raw.

  • @checkcheck662

That's true...Unless you plan on turning at some point.

  • My only complaint is the "overboost" gimmick. Puh-leaze, BMW. Who are you trying to fool? This engine is more than capable of that power all the time.

It's obviously a marketing ploy to keep the M3 selling. I'm sure tuners will take care of this quickly. I will be interested in maintaining that 370ft-lbs.

  • Those blacked out kidneys just look cheap and aftermarket... Keep the edges chromed while just blacking out the ribbs
