  • Love it!!

  • these are not around in japan anymore....they are really rare

  • of course they received changes yen760 back.

    do not worry.

  • So the beer vending machine does not check ID

  • 10 bucks thats a alot for one can lol

  • @billa2amsterdam he put in 1000 yen (about $10) but the beer was only 240 yen...

  • Pure genius technology?? It's a VENDING MACHINE, get over it.

  • It makes you wonder why our country isn't this cool.

It just makes me hate religion and conservatives that much more.

  • wat about Japanese teens? o.O

  • If this machine was in my city in Australia it would last 30 mins before the parkies (bums/tramps) knocked it over and ran off with it. Gotta love Japan and the people.

  • if that thing was in my city i be prob be sitting next to it xD

  • hope your not drunk

  • this is bad for the planet god dam asia people they are ruin the planet with all this invents

  • i got hit on by a drunk asian chick while i was waiting for the bus she was kinda old maybe 37 and i had a 40 in my hand and she kept on wanting to see it it was really pissing me the fuck off

  • in canada its like $3-6 for a can of beer. prices are a rip off haha

  • @TheHolyBong nope you can get 3 cans of labatt blue for 6$ and sometimes corner stores or gas station have singles on sale u can get a great deal best one I got was 1.25$ for a 473ml can of tecate i grabe 20 cans cost me 25$ :) so it all depends on the location. now if ur thinking Ontario I understand a 24 of Heineken in Quebec would go for 25-26$ but in Ontario it's maybe 46-47$

    a ta sante!!!!!! (cheers!!!!!!!!!!)

  • we have a couple of these vending machines in Montreal, there not out in the streets there inside hotels for 3$ u get a 341ml can of ice cold delicious beer. the vending machine is not that cool looking :p here it looks more like a walmart great-value pop machine hahah

  • States passed laws to make tobacco and alcohol vending machines illegal unless they are in age-restricted area who required ID. That because to prevent underage minors from buying beer and tobacco products.

  • A beer machine....selling ice tea at the very top on the right.

  • ASAHI :D

  • Maybe they've changed since then, but I know that some of the Americans when I was over there were complaining that they couldn't buy cigarettes from vending machines because it required some type of ID scan.

  • does the machine check age like your identification?

  • i bet you wont find this kind of vending mahine in the states?

  • @TheDegree777 It's illegal to sell alcoholic beverages in vending machines in USA. States controlled that matter.

  • @averyhse see that pisses me off usa hard laws is what drives kids to drink agreeed

  • @TheDegree777 It's illegal to sell alcoholic beverages in vending machines in USA. States controlled that matter. Unless they are in age-restricted areas who required ID to enter.

  • 10 bucks for a fucking can of beer?

  • @Midnightryder7 So, I suppose you assume the numbers below the various selection buttons are totally meaningless and the fact that he specifically said "760 yen change" is also unimportant. The cost was 240 yen, which works out to about $3. Expensive, yes, but it's no worse than going to an American bar and it certainly isn't 10 bucks. Think before you speak; I promise it helps.

  • @brianscottaitken I wasn't speaking..i was typing!

  • That's pretty cool Kevin..i'm a beer lover and that would come in soo handy..specially because i'll be moving to Kyoto in October..!! Alex

  • There are warnings labeled on the front of the machine against underage drinking (under 20) and because of M.A.D.D. in Japan, these machines automatically shut off around 10pm. Normally, they are not abused.

  • So can you drink that on the street? Kids can buy it too haha. It get shaken up, but that's cool!

Did you survive the 8.9 quake?

  • id camp out there... HAHAHA.... never move from that spot...

  • Your choice is nice.KIRIN LAGERBEER.yeah.nice.

    You are almost japanese.

  • in my city, that machine would be cleared out in a few minutes, tops

  • alcoholic dream come true:)

  • Thats it, im packing my shit. This city sucks.

  • I like that they can have stuff like that out on the streets if there would be stuff like that in other countries they would be long gone.

  • It takes coins and money? Good to know, thanks.

  • Actually in Japan almost everyone is polite and obedient. The kids don't even try to buy the beer. If they do, its like disgracing their family. Their culture is different from those of Americans so don't be ignorant saying the "kids will buy the beer" and "American laws are too strict."

  • @ThePinkPlease the problem with america is rstricting beer kids are from the start said no thats bad so they are like yeah wanna try this shit bu tin japan kids are brought up with it right there so it's a common thing no interest usa need to stop sticking in in ppls asses kuz they wanna have drink and for that matter kids are allways gonna drink no matter waht the law is

  • @cber8860 You realize i meade this comment like 6 months ago and you still replied to it o.O

  • @ThePinkPlease i reolise but the comment was so true i had to comment

  • @ThePinkPlease American laws ARE too strict. You can go get your head blown off in war, but can't have a beer? that's bullshit!

  • 1000 Yen = 10 Bucks???? Fuck i dont wanna be a millionaire in China xD

  • @LittleSilvo *Japan

  • @SenseiWuzi Uhm ,yea >-<

  • So basically you dont need an id? ....nice gotta get us those ova here in america

  • @mrcoffeerush 20 is the legal age for drinking and smoking.

  • American kids aren't very obedient. A nine year old might buy beer for his dad. Who knows.

  • Was ist daran ungewöhnlich, wenn man morgens am Automaten Bier kauft und es trinkt?

  • @Zeppelinwillneverdie It's not 1000 yen for a beer. It happens to accept notes which he got change for afterwards. The beer cost 240, which is still rather steep I think, but it is a vending machine. ^ ^

  • wtf as i am a millionair in japan i only got 10000 bugs

  • A beer vending machine... with all my Japanese favorites!

There ought to be a few of these in certain Japanese establishments in the USA, under special permit of course, so that Americans can experience what it's like to have their cold beer served to them this way! All purchasers would be required to show ID before inserting their money, of course...

  • i have to go to Japan one day

  • 今では酒もタバコも自販機で簡単に買えなくなったからね。不便ですよ。

  • at 2:00...how the hell is that car going to get out of there?!

  • @juggernautoddball I thought that as well

  • Best.. vending machine... EVAR

  • Well I can say this machine I am 100% sure that is stolen if I was in Mexico with everything and beers.

But the truth is that if it is pure technology and respect for discipline in Japan

  • america, land of the free my ass.

    japan here i come.

  • Deit beer, I thought he said diarrea

  • Y200 is same as $2.30

but what about under age drinking laws in japan?

  • @davidlee110

drinking under age is prohibited in japan, but not very strict.

smoking under age is rather strict here.

  • @shrimpchocolate so why we don't have here in US?!

  • I was surprised to see these when I first visited 11 years ago. Not just Beer machines, but their complement... Cigarette machines!! Like Denny's and other diners in the 80's...(cig machines but not beer)They were much more plentiful a decade ago. Machines are disappearing because the left took a brilliant example from the US fining those that don't card in shops as a scapegoat and way to collect revenue Less public places like train stations have beer or cig machines as before.

  • Lol i want this in the netherlands! so that i dont need to ask people to get beer for me !!! =D

  • Wouldnt be that hard to get away with underage drinking now...

  • 240 yen? thats 3 bucks!! thats sweet!

  • KIRIN IS MY FAVORITEEEE <3333

  • @BMWFAN01 I prefer Asahi. :D

  • Most of these machines are automatically blocked after 11:00 PM, that's right? I bought beer at the convenience store when I was there.

  • @Marcelim02 hallo there, i live in México and it's a democracy, well i found this beer machine different because here we don't have one and i think is wonderful couse i do not like soda hahaha

  • @toolreyes I thought you live in a islamic republic or any place were drinking alcohol is ilegal. LOL.

  • Its kind of a good idea but I couldn't imagine ever using one of those. So you just go shopping and go oh I know I'll have a can of beer, lets do some drunken shopping and walking around town. If I have a drink I'm either in a bar or at home.

  • do they sell any Australian beers in japan?

  • @MrGrog88 yeah. but only in some liquor shop. I think I saw Labatt some years ago.

  • i must go to japan...

  • The child in Japan doesn't hope to buy the beer in the vending machine. When the beer is bought in the vending machine, its price is high. If the beer is bought in the vending machine, it is an affluent Japanese child. However, an affluent child doesn't do such shopping.

  • That is so cool :3

  • I loved these when I was in Japan, I think I might go back just to get me some beer on the street and pop it in front of the cops.

  • how much did u spend for the whole trip to japan?

  • @HiphopSushi i drank two beers at once in denmark in front of cops when i was 16. i choose denmark :p

  • Kids could buy from the machine but these machine is not working 24h(10Am-11pm),So many ppl watching when kids buying them.

Japanese kids r not too strong for someone watching to do bad thing.

  • i lol'd at diet beer.....watch your weight while you get drunk :D

  • so kids or anyone can buy beer on the street? fuck this pisses me off. i got charged 275 bucks for underage drinking when i was 17

  • man.....that sucks. Yeah...I suppose things are regulated a little more loosely here!

  • @BusanKevin most vending machines that sell beer have cards that you have to use with the machine before it gives you beer

  • @BusanKevin Sapporo is the shit bro.

  • @BusanKevin i was in japan couple weeks ago - now you have to put your credit card at first in the automate to make sure u are overaged :)

  • @MetalManDan7 um yes. even an under 6-year old girl can buy it, if she takes a parent's id card with her and reachs the hand to the slot. if a 18 or 19 year old boy uses a someone's id card and happens to meet policemen, they catch him because it is illegal. if that is just the case, he'll have his name written down on their document and been robbed of the can by the policemen.

  • @MetalManDan7 why the hell did u pay the fine?!?

  • @MetalManDan7 The kids in Japan don't even bother with the beer vending machines. They are good kids and know not to break the law. I was there when I was 18 and I never once saw someone young like me attempt to buy any.

  • @gollapr man they are lucky they didnt have any rowdy metal heads like us around haha. it would be like one of those retro godzilla movies where everyone runs away pointing in fear, except instead of pointing at godzilla it would be us.

  • @MetalManDan7 i was a bar tender when i was 16 and drunk beer all the time lol

  • @spanishpothead nice, is it family owned or something or is spain just really cool. and how are the pot laws down there?

  • @MetalManDan7 hahaha ur asking all the right questions it is a family owned "bar pub" iam 21 now lol but you get 16 year old girls working in night clubs till 7 in the morning the pot law, its ilegal but no problem realy as long as you dont take the piss like smoking a join in public, if they catch you whit maybe 3-9 grams ur ok as long they think ur not a dealer especialy beeing a turist THE BEST thing about spain is its right next to marroco and you get the best quality in europe and cheep :)

  • @MetalManDan7 well, i guess in japan, alot of kids are honest, or atleast the people who make the laws up there believe they are. i mean, people wont even steal bikes that arre not tied up, so i wouldnt be surprised if kids got buy beer

  • @MetalManDan7 ya it looks like things in USA are fucked up in this case. I saw beer vending machine in Germany too. In Lithuania they sell beer to teenager prity much everywhere. USA seems to be the only palce in the world with such strict laws.

  • @MetalManDan7 Japan hasnt got the same culture as many of the western countries.

  • @SugaaarRush Really?!? no way!

  • @MetalManDan7 I was saying that because alcohol isnt very big in Japan compaired to other countries, police arent worried about kids buying it because its very rare that they do, if they had this in Europe or America kids would buy shit all the time, you cant complain about them having alcoholic vending machines.

  • Yeah, amazing techonology indeed. Stands out from all other wending machines! But that means that 10-year olds can buy beer then?

  • That is frikkin so bloody cool. Tad expensive though right.

  • 1:24 it says "Liquor Shop" at the top of the machine. Do they consider Beer as Liquor? ODD

  • i dont get it......... kids as young as 5 who can walk and tall enough to gain access to insert a coin can drink ???

Wow japans cooler then i thought

  • is there no legal drinking age there?

  • I like kirin lager...it's pricy here in the states but worth it

  • wow so .. can you drink the beer on the street mate? no problems with cops?

  • if you are behaving well, there is no problem at all!

  • actually they sell soft drinks lol

  • you can put anything of the sort you want lol, tea in cans etc =P

  • @toolreyes where do you live? It's a democracy? :D

  • this kind of machine is pretty common at Brazil, some with snacks also o_o

  • Diet beer?!?!?!?!?

  • @joeafrolovesblow

    light beer is diet beer...

  • @joeafrolovesblow looks like busch lite

  • @joeafrolovesblow What do you think 'light' beer is?

  • i would use that in my living room ! - i'd overcharge myself and use it as my piggy, bank ...i want one

  • How can this machine identify whether kids or adults? any answers would be merci

  • the machine doesn't. Technically, kids could buy beer from a vending machine like this.

  • I'm going to be arriving in Osaka on Wednesday and I want to try and find one. Last year when I went to Tokyo I couldn't find one.

  • normally they are located next to liquor shops.

  • that would make soo much money in my town. lol

  • yep....I think they would be popular almost anywhere!

  • これ正直すごいと思う。

    外国の治安の悪い地域なら、自販機ごと持ちされるからね

  • こっちってドコですか?

    すべて日本では当たり前と申した

    だけです。50円?それで?

    当たり前ならそれでよいでしょ?

  • Comment removed

  • 日本の当たり前が、世界の当たり前という訳ではありません。

  • I have no idea what that says.

  • belgium also sells beer in vending machines

  • how does it know kids aren't buying beer!

  • i want that in my crib. hehe. \m/

  • And you can walk around the city and drink beer in public? You do that in the states and you get arrested.

  • yeah b/c people in the US wouldn't give a crap if they were drunk in public. People in Asia are a lot more self conscious about being drunk in public.

  • Back in the 1980s the South River, NJ volunteer fire department had a Budweiser vending machine. They also had a Marlboro cigarettes machine.

  • thats fucking cool!

  • absolutely! :)

  • Just wish that the states allowed them.

  • I think they would last only a few minutes before someone chucked them in the back of a pickup truck and drove away :) hehe

  • I find Japanese beer really dry and bad.

  • Taste is subjective. Some of it is, but there are some really nice brands. Premium brands for mass consumption like, Suntory Premium Malts and Yebisu are quite nice.

    Thanks for watching.

  • how does it know if you're old enough to get a beer ? :p isnt it not allowed for young men to get a beer?

  • from what I hear, vending machines in Tokyo require you to us an I.D. card. Here though, no card. That does mean that underage people, if they wanted, could easily get beer.

  • ha pretty cool lol

  • just recently they started cracking down on underage drinking and smoking. most of if not all cigarette machines require you to tap an I.D. card which you have to request by mail. they consider smoking more important than underage drinking. i havent seen a beer machine that requires a I.D but im sure they'll start making those too

  • I have heard that some beer vending machines in Tokyo now require i.d. Not sure though.

  • yes.

    we need to driver's license.

  • they are implementing a system in Alcohol vending machines, requires an id like kevin said, but just in some cities in japan, cigaretts they changed it like 1 year ago,now everyone needs an ID card

  • Do people drink on the street in Japan?.

  • It is legal to do so. Some people do, but they don't walk around drinking. they may get a beer and sit in a park or a bench to have it. Usually older men (and foreigners who think it's cool that they can have open alcohol....me...in this video).

  • It is legal here too (Germany) but it is not socially acceptable everywhere. If people get drunk on the street here and are unlucky to get caught they get taken to a Ausnüchterungszelle (drunk tank) for a short holiday.

  • this vid was done at about 9am right? well its gotta be 5pm somewhere in the world.

  • haha...nice one! Personal rule....I never touch booze before 12noon.....12:01pm is fine though ;)

  • haha i know. we arent alcoholics like the parents that come to the kis festivals and start drinking at 10am right lol. yeah i wait till 12 too....as sweat is pouring down my brow and i am in a dead stare with the ticking hands on my wrist watch.

  • lol no sam adams?

  • This is a good thing.

  • They have them in spain too. Quality!

  • whoa! this is great a beer machine.

  • ooo coins and money haha. Beer vending machine looks cool on the streets

  • wow! a chips machiene with beer in it! wats so sppecial about that

  • because they dont exist in canada, united states, britain... or most of the world for that matter... tard.

  • Where the CORONAS or TECATES at?

  • i've seen coronas in some specialty food stores...bought a few.....but in Japanese beer machines...expect to f ind only Japanese beer....which is first rate beer:)

  • And now I want a beer =0)

  • me too :)

  • Liquor store? didn't see any liquor

Wow this guy has been living in a cave and never seen a vending machine before?

And people who drink in the streets are tramps.

  • I'm not a tramp at all....I have a perfectly lovely house! Are you referring to the other large numbers of men who drink on the street?

  • LOL yes and now I'm of to drink on the park bench cos it's friday =0)

  • I can remember I was around 13 (27 now) when I went to Spain with my family and they had vending machines with beer in them. My little cousin and I got about 5 each and ended up drunk. lol. It cannot read people's faces u plonker.

  • That machine reads people's face. It is possible to recgnize peoples' age by looking their face. Wow. Japan is the first nation which is using that technology on vending machine while other nations using that technology in high security requiring place..

  • Why is it that the vending machines in Japan have no problem taking a bill, while in Canada you have to shove it into the machine a million times before it will be accepted? Also, in Canada it is usually a machine just to get change to put into a vending machine!

  • It's amazing too, because you can put them in either way, upside down....doesn't matter. The machines always take them! I love it :) Yep...the ones in Canada always pissed me off!!!

  • When I lived in Kurihama in the '90s there were quite a few around. One night I had a craving for some great Japanese beer and spent at least 5 minutes deciding which beer I wanted. Just as I was reaching for money the clock struck 10pm and the machine went dark!!! No beer for you!
