  • Wow I actually had this thing!

  • thats pretty cool :)

  • First: I'm going to go to game stop and ask for Data age games, and when I get told to pull my head out the 80's than I'm going to tell them to pull their heads out of their asses,LOL, just kidding, I had to.

Second, I noticed a Microsoft xbox 360 RF adapter there on your shelf, are you controlling your computer via a 360 wirless controller like me? I love it, it is so convient.

  • Good eye, yes I do have a wireless 360 pad for my PC. I do all my "modern" gaming on PC. For the longest time I was happy using my PS2 pad plugged into an USB adaptor but I had been getting some games that just would not work right with it, after getting the wireless 360 pad those games all worked perfect so it was well worth it.

  • Holly shit dude for a second there I thought you where going to tell us that this was a record, you rigged up to the tape deck of computer "X" and played it to download a game to play. Could you imagine that?

  • lol well your certainly more imaginative than I!

  • "STAY AWAY FROM MEEeee!!!"

  • Fraky stuff mate ;o)

  • I actually love this kind of stuff! Reminds me of good ol' Tangerine Dream albums from the 70s (Phaedra, Electronic Meditations, etc.) Good stuff.

  • Oh me to, it's just a cool part of the history, not like we'll see this kind of thing again!

  • Funny! I just got BUGS, ENCOUNTER AT L-5 and WARPLOCK all in the same lot of gaming stuff!

  • Cool!

  • Now this is some scary sound track, almost as scary as the games they've put out :P

    Great find though! 5/5

  • Heh heh, yeah..........

I just never know what I will come up with next.

  • Rob, that was cool, and I was hoping you would actually play the audio, which you did! Definitely trippy! I recall getting these Flexidiscs with cereal boxes, and also Starlog and Mad magazines.

I am not a collector, and the few vintage items I still have was kept in very poor condition, but even I cringed when I saw you flopping around that Flexidisc, dropping it on the floor, and rubbing the grooves with your fingers! Take it easy on that thing! It looks like a very rare collectors item! :-)

  • Heh, well I sold my most perfect one on Chasethechuckwagon (now Gamegavel) for $15. Of course I was hoping for more but that is how it goes. I have two left, they are in fact pretty durable, both go back in a folder now. I might not of showed it if I could not let you all hear it, that would just be creul lol!

  • I've heard of those mentioned on atariage but never saw one before. Thanks for showing this. Very cool bit of vintage gaming memorabilia. :)

  • Thanks, it was a spur of the moment thought but those are usually my best lol!

  • You dont own a recordplayer? Shame on you Rob ;) But man, that is a rather trippy format! Dont think I've seen those soundsheets over here, but.. All I can say is "wow". Flexible translucent vinyl? Its the future of yesteryear!

  • I was never really much of a record collector but like everyone I had a phase as a kid. Could kick myself for the stuff I got rid of though! I had Bob and Doug McKenzie Great White North Album AUTOGRAPHED for instance DOH!

  • I used to run into these flexidiscs quite a bit growing up. Mad Magazine would put them in with a megazine. Usually the has a novelty song recorded on them.

    STAY AWESOME! :)

  • Oh I remember a very specific song on a MAD magazine Flexidisc called "It's a super spectacular day!" the cool thing was somehow that record had about seven different audio conclusions! It's a Super Spectacular Day! UNTIL......then the end would always have a different description after he sang UNTIL........

    Ring any bells?

  • Not yet, but the my brain is suffering from a cold-induced haze. I'm alittle out of it, lol.

    STAY AWESOME! :)

  • Fair enough, it may be for the better lol!

    Take care!

  • That's a cool record! It's a shame you don't have a player! I wish I would find something like that around!

  • I actually got these years ago when they were originally released. A little Mom and Pop electronics store on Yonge St. in Toronto. There were a bunch and I just grabbed 3 and have had them since, actually a friend ad these along with some of my old artwork and he returned it all to me a few years ago......

  • That is one bizarre record. I have some crazy records in my collection but nothing like this. Thanks for showing it off!

  • Interesting promotional material for sure hah, I bet it even got some games sold. Thanks for putting this up man.

  • @HalfBlindGamer My pleasure thank you.

  • Wow didn't know about this.

    It was... weird .,,, anyways....

Nice vid and keep em coming =)

  • @dbz1229 thanks! I always strive to not only do classic game related topics but ones that are different, not the same old stuff, hope I am keeping it interesting for you guys!
