I wonder how the wires were glued on. I guess he perhaps used superglue for this.
I sit here with the Revell 1:144 scale Type VII C/41 however I don't have an airbrush and are not experienced with weathering, so it will have to do with a plain look.
I have this very same model kit although I haven't started it yet.I wish I could understand what the heck he's saying,I'm sure that would help me when I start mine!
I had paid $75.00 for mine, purchased it when it was first introduced about 4 years ago but I have soooooo many un built models I'll never get them all built!!!A model builders dream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I never understood a word of it, but it was a joy to watch. He made that from the basic kit. No photoetched parts or wooden decks. He made a fantastic job. The painting was a work of art!
fuck i really wish theyd show subtitles for this one especially from 1:49 through 5:40 i wanna know how and when to apply pastels for rusty conditioned surface. anyone??
the first he does is apply "washes". These are heavily dilluted paints of mostly darker colours... after a while you wipe very gently with a cloth. The rust effects are mostly done in the same way. Just dont try to do it in one go but multiple layers untill you reach the effect you wanted. In the end he uses a technique called "drybrushing". You take a lighter coloured paint and wipe your brush untill it is almost dry, then apply it along the raised edges to accentuate them. Hope this helps you.
Mostly small scale Warships of WWII. Thou my 1/100th ( or around there) got put on hold for like 6 months, and it got very moldy cuz of rain. It would have been a nice build.
if he does it as a living or for means of financial support, then he'd be a professional. right? (no disrespect, im not tryin to start any of that utube drama)
there are "professional" modelists who build models for museums and clients. as far as model enthusiests (or however it's spelled)go, this guy could be called a professional, even though it's a hobby.
yes but what about professional modellers who work in scifi, special effects etc? I guess nowadays the term professional comes when you make good money. And no, a doctor and a teacher are not professionals. They offer to the society.
Thank you for this video! I love to build models and will soon start on a smaller scale of this U-Boat. It was excellent just to see and learn from this master builder. Thank you very much for helping me with my hobby. Salaam.

How can you be a "professional" hobbyist as a hobby, by definition, is not a profession?
spec24 3 years ago 3
EXACTLY
its like a calling a plumber a professional
doctors are professionals, teachers are professionals, not modelists
its not a profession, its a hobby
(no disrespect to kaysee88)

Sorry to disappoint , but there are such things as professional model makers.
My degree course in model making would tend to prove this ... as would the three tutors we have that work on the subject.
The contracts for architectural models, and props/animatronics for film work are not exactly taken lightly either.
Hobbyist and Professional Model Makers are not the same thing. Professionals don't do it just for fun.
