  • Very nice. Looks great! :)

I wonder how the wires were glued on. I guess he perhaps used superglue for this.

I sit here with the Revell 1:144 scale Type VII C/41 however I don't have an airbrush and are not experienced with weathering, so it will have to do with a plain look.

  • I would fly over to japan for this man to teach me his tricks. He is a VERY skilled man...

  • Getting very hard to find this kit now

  • Brilliant!Just a pity about the language barrier.

  • I have this very same model kit although I haven't started it yet.I wish I could understand what the heck he's saying,I'm sure that would help me when I start mine!

I had paid $75.00 for mine, purchased it when it was first introduced about 4 years ago but I have soooooo many un built models I'll never get them all built!!!A model builders dream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I never understood a word of it, but it was a joy to watch. He made that from the basic kit. No photoetched parts or wooden decks. He made a fantastic job. The painting was a work of art!

  • i wish i knew what he is saying.lol

  • so beautiful, great job. fun to wach

  • Salutations on a great paintjob!

  • German VIIC Submarine. (U-96)

  • Very good work, but why are all the hatches of the bow torpedoes opened up? They were only opened upon firing a torpedo ;)

  • Any work on a Gato 1/72? Good work!

  • you are the master pls teach me

  • Attention to detail is why I think this guy is really good. Any beginner could learn alot from just this video alone.

  • THAT ASSHOLE FLIPPED ME OFF AT 5:54 !!!

  • woow

  • this guy's awesome. seriously, he's hilarious!

  • outstanding work, but how about some photo etch parts and maybe a wood deck?

  • what is the name of the model builder?

  • fuck i really wish theyd show subtitles for this one especially from 1:49 through 5:40 i wanna know how and when to apply pastels for rusty conditioned surface. anyone??

  • the first he does is apply "washes". These are heavily dilluted paints of mostly darker colours... after a while you wipe very gently with a cloth. The rust effects are mostly done in the same way. Just dont try to do it in one go but multiple layers untill you reach the effect you wanted. In the end he uses a technique called "drybrushing". You take a lighter coloured paint and wipe your brush untill it is almost dry, then apply it along the raised edges to accentuate them. Hope this helps you.

  • cool cool! but the did he use pastels mixed with water? on 4:07

    i appreciate your time! :)

  • woow

He's good. airbrushing makes averything difrend

  • Good lord i thought my models were good. Man he makes his lok lik eits made out of metal! Bloody hell i would pay top doller...or yen...for that!

  • What kind of models are you building?

  • Mostly small scale Warships of WWII. Thou my 1/100th ( or around there) got put on hold for like 6 months, and it got very moldy cuz of rain. It would have been a nice build.

  • u 96

  • Most of us finish our model during our free time or maybe when we re retired. But i envy him coz He's making a living with his hobby..

  • Fantastic job! English please!

  • The guy looks like he loves what he does.

Not too many people can say that.

  • I can! I love the hobby!!!!!!!!!!

  • gee i wish i had a hobby shop full of tools and paints at my disposal to make a masterpiece like that

  • It's a beautiful model, though I sure would rather be the one buying it than him painting it.

  • That Revell kit is $100...

  • @BOROCKHARDJR i can get it for $75

  • @awsem1o1 i can get it for 5

  • fantastic!!! why don't they sub it! hulk hulk

  • you should post more of these :D

  • Great job!

  • áá, porádny bloody chlapský model. Uznávam síce len 72ky ale toto pri ponorkách spravím výnimku - je to proste mierka podla môjho Gusta.

  • thatd be an awesome model to convert to rc

  • what a beautiful job. im thinking of building this kit soon!

  • I'm a prof'l hobbyist myself...but after I saw

this, I can't stop feeling that maybe I'm

charging my clients WAY TOO MUCH...I hope

they haven't seen this yet! I might get shot

    or knifed.

  • How can you be a "professional" hobbyist as a hobby, by definition, is not a profession?

  • EXACTLY

its like a calling a plumber a professional

doctors are professionals, teachers are professionals, not modelists

its not a profession, its a hobby

    (no disrespect to kaysee88)

  • if he does it as a living or for means of financial support, then he'd be a professional. right? (no disrespect, im not tryin to start any of that utube drama)

  • "tubedrama"lol

  • there are "professional" modelists who build models for museums and clients. as far as model enthusiests (or however it's spelled)go, this guy could be called a professional, even though it's a hobby.

    yep

  • yes but what about professional modellers who work in scifi, special effects etc? I guess nowadays the term professional comes when you make good money. And no, a doctor and a teacher are not professionals. They offer to the society.

  • Sorry to disappoint , but there are such things as professional model makers.

My degree course in model making would tend to prove this ... as would the three tutors we have that work on the subject.

The contracts for architectural models, and props/animatronics for film work are not exactly taken lightly either.

Hobbyist and Professional Model Makers are not the same thing. Professionals don't do it just for fun.

  • I think you missed the point of my post.

  • GASOLINE MAKES GREAT PAINT THINNER!!

  • excellent stuff for leucemia, lol!

  • He is the Bob Ross of plastic model maker!

  • That is absolutely incredible!!

Sadly I don't understand a word. I think his teachings are woth GOLD!

  • assembling a scale model is not just hobby, it is ART!!! Wonderful ART!!!

  • You are absolutely right. I can say this due to my experience. I am doing both, fine scale modelling and painting/drawing.

  • He fucking rules!!!

  • This guy is awesome.

  • A great tribute to U-96

  • strangely addictive! real skill

  • Good. He should have put some sailors on it. U-boats are great.

  • fantastic....well done.

  • Very good job :) greets from czech republic , you have my adoration.

  • Beautiful job !!!!!!

  • Does anyone know what he used for the wash?

  • so put it together first then paint it?

  • If ever a vid on youtube needed some english subtitles this was it it.
