  • @fendermanjazz1960 & @marquee6. Youre both wrong! This guy is swedish...since he's speaking swedish and not english...Dumbasses ;)

  • 'Bout blew the knee out when it kicked back, 'eh? Sounds great, and the Prince of Darkness lives on!

  • its very simple your not getting the piston JUST past tdc on the compression stroke.

  • You're doing it the hard way. Take it off the stand and straddle the bike. Fully retard the spark. Prime the carby; I find I don't need any choke. Get the piston just past TDC and hold the decompressor in (you have the lever in the wrong position). Balance. Don't stab at it like you're afraid, kick down with full force, twist the throttle open and let go of the decompressor, all in one movement. Be the boss. She'll fire up. They need to start at high revs to get the oil up quickly.

  • come on man you can do it!

    let us hear that sweety!

  • Retard the ignition a bit?

  • heck i gota c25 with alot of compression, you need to put all your weight on it, and it keeps kicking back 1/10. also no stand stand so makes it harder! :/

  • Man do I love British bikes. Beautiful.

  • Hey, fendermanjazz!! Cut it with the" dumbass American" Crap! Granted, he is a dumbass and american but not all Americans are like this Berk!! I owned a '78 Triumph Bonneville and I could kickstart my bike with all the pizazz of a James Dean or Steve Mcqueen. Besides, If you don't like "dumbass Americans", why have a name with American references like Fender and Jazz?? Please don't lump all Americans in with this dip shit!

  • Hope this guy has learned to stop flooding it. Prime the carbs. One ( 1 ) turn of the throttle and kick it over.

  • dont put all your weight on if its gna backfire. stand on a block or somot so u have 1 foot on the ground.

  • why's a dumbass american on a fine piece of english engineering????

  • I cringe every time that thing kicks back, lol.

  • If that bike was used often it would start quite easily, mind you the B31 350,s were easier than the B33 500,s. As for the lights once the wiring and contacts are sorted it won,t be a problem. BSA,s run forever.

  • grymma grejer ha ha cool film

  • hey fella, retard the timing it helps.

  • next time drain the sump dh

  • Lucas electric

    the prince of darkness...

  • Dude, you have to follow through with your kick or your gonna break your ankle....

  • Not only does he expect it to start, but he wants lights as well! That's a British bike- you don't get "extras" like working lights!

  • were you not using the decompressor?

  • Yes. I'm using the decompressor to find the spot right after the compression stroke. But there are two problems:

    1. The bike had been standing a long time (at least a year). It is a dry sump engine, but during the year(s) the oil had slowly filled the crankcase.

    2. The temperature is around 0 deg C (32 F) in the video. Ths makes the oil very thick and the engine hard to start.

  • @Joe90ridesahonda First you let the oil out. There"s a screw at the bottom of the engine for that. All that oil can damage the piston.

  • that was funny!!!!!!!!!

  • my 441 kicked back and broke the mainshaft! keep at it.

  • what jap bike has as much character as a british bike? ive ridden jap bikes and brit bike of all shapes and sizes, i think brit bikes are much more fun to ride and even race

  • My farther used to have i think it was a b31,

I swore everytime it failed to start,

Then it kicked back and ripped the skin from my ankle,

Thank god for jap bikes !!!

The poor starting ability probably makes up for having no ignition key LOL

  • What Jap bike can be started after two years rest without mechanic intervention.

  • My ZX-9 Ninja would for a start,

I do reckon it would need a new battery or a jump lead start though.

I even crashed my ninja & ripped all the side of the bike off, it ran on its side and burnt 1 litre of oil.

3 weeks later when my concussion subsided i managed to enguage neutral swithed the ignition on, choke on full, pressed start and the bike fired up immediately no problems.

Yes the oil light came on.

I then re-topped up the oil,

Rebuilt the bike & Its Near Perfect Again !!

  • You're lucky, my Goldie kicked back and broke my ankle!

  • send him the adress of the rollermaker

  • I think he's going to need it!
