Saw Hilken and Chris join Buffalo Tom onstage over the weekend for BT's 25th Anniversary show. Awesome! Reminded me of how great Fuzzy is, and ultimately how rich an indie music scene we've had in Boston for decades. :)
Great band sux they don't have anything from Electric Juices saw them in concert when they opened up for The Posies such an awesome show will always remember it!
i just got electric juices again online. i saw this vid on 120 minutes and went right out and bought the cd from which it came. whats funny is i totally got everybody to love it
I've been looking for this song for 15 years!!!! I have 12,000 songs on my ipod, but this is only about one of 5 that I could listen to 100 times in a row.
This is great. I remember hearing it on Lee & Herring's BBC radio show ages ago and wondering who it was by. It's like a great lost REM song. Wasn't early-90s indie music great?
The 90's ruled musically. The best of the British stuff meeting the best of the American stuff, guitar bands coming back throughout Europe, the explosion of drum and bass, all the dance music and electronic stuff, some great hip hop... music now feels very conservative in that it's the same scenester/playa look at me bullshit.
Nothing to do with nostalgia. The diversity amongst the more leftfield and the mainstream music scenes was far greater than it is today. Simply take a look at major label rosters circa 1995 and compare it to now.
@heylookitse - LOL!!! I will never forget that show and how every once in a while someone would yell that from the audience at various locations throughout the rest of that tour. We were like deer frozen in the headlights until someone (you?) yelled that out to us after we'd screwed up a song so badly we had to stop in the middle of the song. That was in Phili opening for Redd Cross (I think).
@toppinhosford Chris I can't believe you remember that! Afterwards I felt guilty and wrote you an apology letter. You responded and told me to come say hi, next time you came through the area. I still have that letter--and I think you sent me a sticker, too.
Another in a depressingly long list of bands who, back in the day, really had potential, but were ignored by all but a select few - Come, Smudge, Monsterland, Scarce and so on. Their first album had some real gems and Amazon marketplace was where I bought their next two for pennies.
I don't know that they ever made a video for Lemon Rind. As for the audio, lots of copies are available for cheap on Amazon. It's on their first, self-titled CD.
Thank you so much for postiong this... if you find any more videos or live stuff please post it..
I never got to see these but they were supporting Juliana Hatfield @ the boardwalk in Manchester in '95 & Juliana was sick, so the gig got cancelled & never re-scheduled.. Doh!!! I love their cover of 'Girl Don't Tell Me' on Electric Juices.. They had so many good songs... Lemon Rind, Postcard.........
Yeah i remember the Juliana Hatfield tour as well, they were playing the Sheffield Leadmill so obviously that got cancelled as well, luckily i had tickets to see Carter USM the same night :-)

Great song...uh, not great band. Hardly competent on their instruments. If Dave Ryan had not played on this, they would have sounded like 6th graders

I love this band! David Ryan rocks on the drums, & what a ridiculously catchy song with great vocals. Seed was a stunningly good album.

@misfitfailure "Seed" was the name of the record label, not the album title.

septip123 2 years ago
@septip123 The drummer, Dave Ryan, was in the Lemonheads for awhile.
Lothars 2 years ago
@septip123 Also, this video was shot by Jesse Peretz formerly of the Lemonheads and who also shot a bunch of their videos. Wow, I miss these guys.

Why isn't there a wikipedia for this band? They remind me of Letters To Cleo and rightfully so, they're from Boston.

You'll have to sign up with Wikipedia and write one yourself.
