  • great!

  • wait, I was taught that smoking isn't cool. LIES!!!

  • when you're already a Beatle fan for years, and after all of these years you hear a record you never heard before and you almost cry, it shows what a beasts these guys were!

    Is this Lennon/McCartney creation?

  • @BrunoLS94 yes it is a Lennon MCcartney song

  • Beautiful simplicity ; pure talent

  • Recored for the BBC Program Side By Side there is also a version recored for a Granada TV Program

  • Recored for the BBC Program Side By Side

  • most of footage is from "The Complete Beatles" a good docu, i might add

  • "As the june light turns to moonlight, I'll be on my way". Now, tell me if that isn't just beautiful. :')

  • Very Buddy Holly inspired!!!

  • Wow! This is a great song! I'm amazed they didn't release it.

  • is this a Lennon/McCartney song? Perfect! They should have released it if it was written by them. As George said during the Anthology documentary...."WE were tight" Closer than anyone could be". And you can hear the joy in their voices.

  • 4 people lost there way

  • 0:32 :D

  • @seventiesclassic, I don't know what your problem is, but that would be Ms. to you and allot is a correct way to spell allot. I do agree, there's allot of YouTube trash, such as yourself, around.

    sue

  • Classic Beatles....Great !!!!

  • haha john at 1:16

  • I'm glad they didn't put this on their LP, but gave it to their competitors who had to record because Daddy Epstein made 'm. he he he............It's like "He speaks with forked tongue"

  • @mrkystrky Actually they wrote for allot of other artists. The first 20 hit of the Rolling Stones, Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas, The Fourmost, Tommy Quickly, Cilla Black, Peter and Gordon, ect.

  • @babygore0599 yes, I know. Just making a schnide little (lil') remark, but thanks anyway. I surely (not Shirley) don't know it ALL!

  • @mrkystrky lol, I surly don't know it all either. In any case, they were a great group that will forever be know for bringing a new era of music to us and they'll never be forgotten. Whether it be John or Paul or George or Ringo, they were The Beatles, the four of them as one.

  • I first heard this song years ago on B.B.C. Radio 2. It was a programme called, `The Beatles at the Beeb`., but some nob head {probably a producer in his 2o`s } decided to fade it out half way through. I had to wait years till it came out on a double C,D., called. `The Beatles, Live At The B.B.C. P.S. my wife is a cousin of George Harrison. same Grandmother.

  • was this released?

  • Why was it cut short? moron !

  • Talk about having your mind blown, George Martin must have had his blown to pieces. He audtions this band of kids which he must have seen as a bunch of kids from dooshland screwing around and suddenly they come up with these songs that are incredible. "Hey we got this song 'If I fell" or "In my life" and only what must have seemed like seconds ago the best they had was Love me do. And if that ain`t enough, suudenly they are coming up with Strawberry fileds and All you need is love.

  • The sun is fading away,

that's the end of the day.

    As the Junelight

    turns to moonlight

    I'll be on my way.

  • Just one kiss, then I'll go. Don't hide the tears that don't show. As the Junelight turns to moonlight I'll be on my way... ...to where the winds don't blow and golden rivers flow. This way will I go. They were right, I was wrong. True love didn't last long. As the Junelight turns to moonlight I'll be on my way.

  • This is a B-side of one of Billy J. Kramer's hit songs.

    Composed by Lennon, McCartney.

  • I have never heard this number.

  • @Khultan me neither but its great!

  • @KhultanIt`s from the BBC

  • Ah, so classic!

  • To be George Martin at 1:35.... "ho hum.. bod my head and turn around while The Beatles perform live behind me." :)

  • John was definitely right when he said that their best stuff was not recorded and only on the radio shows and Hamburg and when they were just playing straight rock

  • @jericho360 ...true, true : ]

  • John Lennon at 1:18 - just classic.

  • WOAH! LOVED IT :| I tought I heard it all...

  • I've never heard of this song - been a fan for a long time, great vocals & funny antics - having a good time together making great music - thanks for the share.

  • had me smiling for minutes. :]

  • so cute of Paul and Ringo playing "Patty Cake"....this is great film footage!

  • incredible footage incredible

  • Another one I haven't heard before. it's amazing and I have been a fan for years.

  • This was a live BBC session. ;)

  • Another Nems (Brian Epstein's company) artist named Billy J. Kramer recorded and released it in 1963 as the B side to "Do You Want to Know a Secret"?, which was the hit. Both Lennon & McCartney songs

  • so buddy holly influenced, great tune

  • .......no.....John and Paul are.

  • @PopandFresh710 - sorry dude - george is singing lead with paul. john does back up vocals

  • @PopandFresh710

George i singing lead with Paul.

  • @maurus1965 Paul and John sharing lead (according to wiki)

  • @rodneyracoon

    yes, true!

  • @PopandFresh710 the three of them are singing. or maybe not all of them. But george deginitely is.

  • @jencantski

    LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jencantski Wow you're no Beatle fan if you thought George Harrison sung that...

  • @CoIeStones Dude, give him/her a break. Don't pretend like you haven't at least second-guessed who was singing. It's not exactly clear for certain songs.

So they thought it was George. Whoop-di-do. You can still be a Beatles fan if you didn't know something. We're human. Not drones.

  • @TurquoiseChameleon Lol its completely clear that John Lennon and Paul are singing, and btw you going to go shit talk everyone that corrects some one for a comment? You better get started, you're never going to finish

  • @CoIeStones I'M totally aware of that. THEY (As in the commenter... not John and Paul lol) on the other hand, weren't. I wasn't shit talking, I'm just saying you don't need to call them not a Beatles fan just because they didn't know something. No need to get all touchy.

  • @jencantski -_- no

  • @jencantski WOW!!! your pethetic!!! u don't know the beatles idiot!!!

  • great lead vocals from lennon n mccartney! you cant get better than these 2 legends!

  • 0:57 that was awesome!!

  • any one know who ringo is roughing up at 0:57?

  • Looks like Allan Williams to me, but I'm not sure.

  • it does a bit.( he would more likely be strangling them for the ten quid comission they owed him.)

also just occured to me it might be alun owen.

also looks bit like harry benson, the photographer

  • Yeah, that may actually be Owen. Wasn't this studio footage filmed in 1964? Williams would certainly have already been out of the picture. You probably know more than I do rather it would have been likely for him to at least visit them under those circumstances during that time period. Please let us know if you find out for sure.

  • yes i doubt they'd repaired their relationship with williams that soon after they made it big. certainly not enough to have him in the studio.

will certainly let you know if i find out.

  • This a beautiful song. You can realy see the early paul in this song. But you can also see the beatles working together for the first time. It's great!

  • love to nan x UB40 ALBUM WITH ALI IN

  • aw!

    LOVE THEM!

  • which album is this from?

  • THi is on the BBC LIVE CD

  • ptm buuu T_T

  • Do you know where I could get a copy of this recording? I love it...

  • live at the bbc

  • This is my favorite Beatles song that never made it on to one of their original albums.

  • Lovely song.

  • lovely..

  • Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Definitely Buddy Holly inspired!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @OlymPigs2010 Yeah they inspired alot of their stuff, Paul McCartney even has ownership of Buddy Holly's songs

  • LOS ADORO!

  • Looks like George Martin is going to outlive all of the boys.

  • This is on the B-side of Billy J Kramer "From A Window" both L&M written tunes.

  • BEATLES RULE!!

  • This song is so beautiful, so sweet

  • brilliant beautiful Beatles!

I love this song! *licks screen*

    lmao <333

  • hahahah!

    might as well do it!!!!!!!

  • This song is very similar to I'll follow the sun. Cheers to the greatest musicians and songwriting partners ever! We love you John! you to Paul! The greatest example of friendship as well. I love you i love you!

  • WHAT A SONG!

  • I stand corrected. I thought it was to be given to Rory Storm and the Hurricanes. Either way its a hidden gem.

  • This was written by Lenneon/McCartney as a 'giveaway' song, and was issued by Billy J Kramer on April 26, 1963. This Beatles version was done for the BBC and was the only time the track was offically recorded by them.

  • Didn't Gerry and The Pacemakers cover this, too?

  • I don't know why, but for some odd reason this song makes me sad... :-(

  • yes

  • Muy buena cancion

    estilo mccartney jaja

    creo que fue escrita

para Dakotas y Billi J. Kramer??

    si no me equivoco

  • Wow, that's great! Thanks for posting. I learned it on 12-string from a music book back in the 60's but never heard them do it. "That way, will I go", lol! Love it!

  • awesome¡¡¡¡ totally love it =D

  • ub40 did a awesome cover of this, what can i say UB40 reggae greats everything they sing turn to cold

  • the beatles forever and ever!!!!!!!

  • may i ask if it's possible to find this song, and if so where, may i inquire, can i find it? :]

  • Live At The BBC

or I can email it to you.

  • @beatlesgirlyy6828

This song was indeed released in 63 by Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas...This is a Paul song for the most part w/ he and John sharing the lead

  • Oh why why they had no DV cameras at that time.

  • "as the diurn light, turns the moonlight, i'll be on my way"

  • ES UNA GRAN CANCION...por que no la publicaron antes ??

  • Lennon and McCartney - just had n ear for great tunes and were completely in the zone -

so many good songs - so many amazing songs on the B side of the singles - best band and songwriters ever to walk the planet

  • I love this song, is wicked!!

  • John and/or Paul wrote this song themselves and it didn't even make it to album cut status. The fact that this band was so creative and had so much material at their disposal that they could afford to leave their own songs on the cutting room floor explains alot about why the Beatles were such a phenomenon. Most bands of that era were content to record songs written for them by others and to fill their albums with covers of other artists' work.

  • wow... i love this song!!!!! it's so much fun to listen to!!!

  • lovely song and lovely footage !!

  • One of my early Beatles favorites!! Too bad it wasn't officially released!!

  • this song sounds very hollyesque.

  • Buddy Holly was a big influence for the early Beatles.

  • First heard this on "Live at the BBC" CD and loved it. With George Martin's production, would have sounded even better and wouldn't have been out of place on one of their early albums instead of one of their covers.

  • I agree, why did they give so many first class melodies to Billy j Kramer like this one. I'd prefer their own versions any day.

  • Yeah the john and paul wrote this one

dont understand why they didnt ever release it (beside BBC)

  • I have an acetate copy of this song which was eventually recorded by Billy J Kramer and the DakotasI Iwillsell it........any offers??????

  • This song is so lovely

  • Did they wrote this song?.

  • Yep, they gave it to Gerry and the Pacemakers though.

Shame though, its a great song!

  • I listened to this and knew them in a recorded song that I did after I dump an old GF back a little younger now I think back when I decided to go my own way after we split . memoris

  • Not very many comments or rating cause this song is old and The Beatles did this not to be a hit (one may say get bigger) but just playing good vibs to everyone, the music, show what they could do, all about fun and mostly what they sang was an infulence.

  • Yes! They should've recorded the original of this live on video! George playing the lead, John singing, could heard the good bass by Paul and Ring hitting the drums! This song will forever linger in my head when it's time to go.

  • Hello babylad, I like this song too ... like nearly all Beatles-songs. It´s from the bbc-sessions and there are lot of songs like this. I think you have these cds. The song has a good mood indeed, but there are so many of them ...
