@DBLACKSTAR69 Nope it didn't become steel. Jus when using Busoshoku Haki: Koka (Armament) his arm become denser. And remember that when rubber becomes denser, it darkens. So I guess that if Luffy uses Busoshoku Haki: Koka on his whole body he'll definetly become really dark blue.

this episode was pretty awesome...i just can't stand seeing the openings...it ruined the surprise of arlong! but yea my fave character is now franky...he could try new fuels and maybe even make defensive robots to defend the ship from weaker enemies...oh the possibilities!

It was far from what I expected as well. However, this voice provided by Kōki Miyata may be ideal for highlighting certain points of his character, especially he happens to be childlike as the story progresses. A bellowing Chris Sabat monster giant would not only make him seem generic but it would push away from what the character is. Besides this being a similar case to Chopper's transformations, this is a case of trying to develop a character not use the expected voice.

Luffy is a beast, man. I mean, his Elephant Gun is really powerful when he fought the kraken and that's just underwater. Just imagine his full power when he's on land. Both Zoro and Sanji, too. Like Kuroobi said way back in Arlong Park, a human's power is cut in half when in water. But the 'Monster Trio' fought like that was nothing. Basically, their power is amazing.

Luffy's armament haki is a reprsentation of vulcanization. Vulcanization is what happens when rubber is heated to a point.
