I love your commentator that angle cut pipe is a cool idea. Solid state is where I also want to go, but I have found reed switches are a better option. ( solid state reed switches ) others use mosfets. If you take a drill and spin the shaft you will notice you still have the spikes. The spikes seem to be induced from the magnetic flux, as magneto on a lawnmower. Thanks for sharing!
@marthale7 Thanks for the comments, that commutaor design is not my own, I seen it on another guys web page. And yes it is just like a magneto set up.
